I was just out in the trailer, packing away some stuff for the GTG, and straightening up some stuff. Then I sat down and turned on the television. It's dark. It's windy. And it dawned on me I've never been alone in the trailer overnight...the TN GTG will be my first time overnighting alone. My confession is that I started feeling a bit nervous about it. Where the heck did THAT come from? Jeez, it's not like I won't have Vickie two doors down to protect me or nuthin'...

Isn't that just dumb as can be?

yes, Mitch, that IS not good. You will be fine! Think about how independent you will feel!! As for myself, I can't WAIT to be alone w/ my dog! OR dogs... whichever I decide to have when I embark.

Talked to Carolyn last night, and by now she's acclimated to cruise life and probably had a drink for me!!

Mitch, you have one pesky bichon to protect you, just throw the dead bolt, and
don't look out the windows at night its scary just kidding you, although
it would be scary to look out the window at night when you hear a bear crawling
around the camp rummaging for food and you find yourself face to face with a
bear trying to look in. YIKES
I've never even thought about being afraid, but I always throw the dead bolt and
I have a stun gun in the drawer next to my bed, so if anyone is gonna have a heart
attack its gonna be the guy trying to break in.

Well, maybe if I have enough Carolyn's Coolers, I'll be too, um - relaxed, to care?

If you're truly nervous, have your cell phone next to the bed along with your car keys. If anything scary happens you can hit the alarm button on your car remote and set off the car alarm (guess I'm presuming you have a car alarm button on your car remote) That would scare off any "bad guys" and get everyone's attention.
You can also get a can of Wasp Spray, the kind that sprays a stream several feet - it's an excellent deterrent if anyone breaks in !!

Oh Mitch....you'll be fine. I can't help but think if anyone tried to kidnap you it would be like "The Ransom of Red Chief"...they'd bring you back in a hurry! And Vicki will be saying "We've never seen her before in our lives!...Keep her!"

I love having the camper to myself...used to take what I called my "mother retreat" when the kids were little. Farmed them out to the grandparents for a couple of days before school started and went to the campground by myself....it was heaven. Friends could come and visit but they couldn't bring children or husbands!

Mitch! I'll be packin' my trusty '38 and of course won't go w/o a dog,, and as for what ava said,, I'd rather have a bear lurking around my camper than a HUMAN type... they are much less dangerous! (bears, I mean!)
