Camping at the Beach

Yay....a FAST internet connection.....had to leave home to find it! I'm camping in the Monterey Bay area. As much as I love Pacific Grove and Monterey I am staying put in my campsite and just enjoying the ocean. After arriving about 3 pm, I headed out for a long walk on the beach....just over the dunes.....a ways longer than I realized, but it was worth it!

Looks like you're going to have a nice, relaxing stay at the beach. Thanks for sharing your pics, I've only seen the Pacific ocean once when we were in Oregon.

I think I would really like camping there, Diana. Can you hear the surf from your camper? What a way to fall asleep at night!

Thanks for taking us along on your hike over the dunes. Looks like difficult walking through the sand, but well worth the effort. Enjoy your stay!

Diana - Great pix. Do you just love the ocean?? Are you going north or??? I'm very near Pismo Beach and love the ocean BUT hate the fog/overcast which we had this AM BUT the sun is shining brightly now which I love. If you are coming this way send me a PM.

Have a great trip.

What a great looking spot...Thanks for the pics. I'm still in the dreary weather, got cought in the rain yesterday: was so wet that I had to dry my hair with paper towels to get it to stop dripping on my glasses. Jayme

Diana - I looked at some of your pix from The Narrows at Zion. Isn't it just the most beautiful place?? We were there 2 summers ago and hiked quite a ways into the Narrows but there wasn't as much water when we went. Glad for that!
Did you go all the way to the end?

You've got great pix on your blog!

great pictures, I can smell the surf, and I can hear the sea gulls too, its been a long
time since I've actually been on the beach but I remember it all. I was just a kid then,
and it left quite an impression.

Linda, I know Pismo well as I lived in Lompoc for over thirty years. I don't miss the fog or the damp. I do miss the milder winters and no mosquitoes! Cheryl

Home again on Friday. A dr appointment for 3 pm today got pushed up to 1200, that required me leaving by 8 am this morning. How strange it was to leave 52 degrees with fog and get home to pushing 100! It was a very refreshing get away. Won't have another chance this fall, but
will plan on several escapes next summer.

I love Pismo too, we spent time in that area in the 70s, even did some clamming! Maybe we came plan an rvwomen gtg on the Central Coast
next year?

And yes, I stuck to my goal of no shopping, didn't move my van the whole time I was there!
