Now THERE'S a job to die for! And will they provide you with RV sites as well? Holy Cow! Talk about a fantastic summer for you both! I can't WAIT to see the pics from that stint!

Great news! Not only a wonderful place to workkamp, but with a good friend also. Is there a place close by to park so you can walk to work? Well Sparkle, this isn't quite "behind a desk" but close enough. I've always said, it doesn't hurt to ask. Seems like we're ALMOST as excited as you two. Can't wait for the adventure to start. And yes, where will the 2 of you be this winter??? Inquiring minds want all the scoop. carold

Ava, now that we know for sure that we have our jobs we can get down to the business of making plans, working back from that. We haven't had a chance yet. Jenny, as some have already pointed out it'll be my own upchuck I'll be cleaning. I can get sick in a bathtub, but what the hey! I'll try it! Soos, yes, we have a full hook up site free. We had a bad connection, but I think Captain Fred said something about free food. I assume we will be able to eat what we make on the boat for free, but maybe not. We'll find out that when he calls us from a landline later this month. Honestly I'm so excited I couldn't sleep last night. :D

/Sparkle, this is truly exciting. It is what FT is all about. I have a friend that wears a motion sickness bracelet and swears by it. She gets seasick walking. There are also patches available. Just for your info. Linda

I'm definately going to get the bracelet. If I still turn green I'll get the patch. Beth says that Prince William Sound isn't really "wavy" as it's a Bay. Not only a great working place, free site, but also a good wage!

Congrats to both of you and I guess we will get some great pictures of the area and your job. No one has asked, when do you start? I loved Beth's pictures and blogs.

They have a fairly short season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. So we are hoping we will have time to do more sightseeing before we have to leave.

Congratulations to you both...that sounds like a dream job for sure. I know they'll be missing you at the North Rim though.

Sparkle & Bethers - You two sure landed great jobs. Hope it is all you are looking forward to!!

Sparkles - By the way, my daughter is 4 Mo. pregnant with twins and the first 3-1/2 months was having a hideous time with nausea 24/7. She wore the bracelet for nausea and that seemed to really do the trick for a while. We are thinking that she has maybe grown out of that phase because she has felt pretty good for a week now. YIPPEEEE!!!!! - she's a happy new expectant mom for now. LOL! It's so nice to hear her be happy.

It's me and I'm really alive and well - just not had time to do anything when on line but work sadly to say.

Yes, Sparkle didn't sleep again last night cuz we were planning Baja - lol - she's going to have to learn to sleep anyway!

You guys have no idea how badly I wanted this job for us. I talked to them when I was there and if it had just been me, I think I would have left with the job. But they only use 3 people and had 2 other possibles, so it was a waiting game - and we talked to Cap'n Fred on Thursday and he sounds as excited to have us coming as we are to be going. Yes, I know it'll be work - not the tour that I took - but what a fun job I think it'll be - and totally different. I can't wait.

Hey, Jenny, I pm'd you - hope to get together with you before we go to Baja -

Thanks for all your well wishes - wish you could all come with - BUT - anyone who comes to Alaska next summer, best come to Valdez and take the LuLu Belle tour. Actually, anyone who goes to Valdez any summer needs to take the tour - best one I took in AK -

Sparkle, I get terrible motion sickness. I take ginger capsules 500 mg, two before riding, etc and 1 every 4 hrs after. I did a 5 day bus tour to New England and went whale watching and never had a problem. Dramine or others put me to sleep. Maybe you can try ginger before you start the new job. Congrats.
