Shore power/AC/circuit breakers.

I have Little Missy in my drive connected to my house electric. Every time the AC cycles off and want's to come back on, my circuit breaker in my garage trips. Not sure what that means exactly. Anyone????

Your RV AC probably requires 30 amp and you probably only have 20 amp in the house. It's pulling too much juice. You can run your fridge, and maybe microwave from your house, but the AC is a big unit. Using the "step-down" plug just allows you to plug into a normal-looking outlet. It doesn't lessen the requirement for more power. Lots of people add a 30 amp circuit to their breaker box just so they can plug in their rigs at home. Hope this helps.

Is it a 15A or 20A circuit in your house?
What else is on that circuit, including what's on in Li'l Missy?
You're overloading the circuit.
Turn off EVERYTHING on that circuit except the a/c and see what happens when it cycles on/off.

ON EDIT: I can run my a/c on a 20A circuit...just can't run anything else.
(my a/c unit is an after market Polar Cub - would that make a difference?)

You need to be really careful of a brown-out situation that could damage your RV ( regular plug like a hairdryer, etc) because its not getting enough power. You need a tester that you can plug into your RV inside that shows how much voltage its getting. I was told that anything below 119 could cause major problems.

The low and high spikes in voltage is one of the reasons I got the Surge Guard. But I also have one of these that I keep plugged in inside the trailer...
I guess I don't need it any more, do I (or does it still have some use?)?

Mitch, now that I have my surge protector I use the volt meter to check out the power boxes at RV parks BEFORE I plug anything in. My volt meter also shows whether the wiring at the box is correct.

UPS delivered my Surge Protector and leveling blocks late this afternoon so I'll certainly use those tomorrow at the SP. My neighbors were interested in Little Missy. I almost couldn't get a few of them out of it so I could finish loading her up! But I was proud to show her off!
Fingers crossed that the drugs help Choco tolerate the drive.
When I stopped out at the park on Sunday I spoke with a guy using a computer at a picnic table and asked about internet. He said there was none and he was just playing solitaire. While we were talking I got a text on my iPhone so it seems AT&T works ok. I'll use that to check the forum. Typing replies would be tedious, though.
