Hey Chris, thanks.

I went thru the magizine but don't remember that? Or at least it doesn't ring a bell in the brain. ;) I will look again.

A lot of the places that offer housing are offering 'dorm' style, which really wouldn't work out to well for Kelly and I. I have checked out a couple of others but they were a 'no go'. ~sigh~

I guess if all else fails we will look for some cheap, back street apartment and collect unemployment till we can find a local job or something.

Sorry Echo, you need Plan B. You cannot collect unemployment on a seasonal job. There is inexpensive housing in Fredonia, and motels where you could maybe get jobs there, you could try that.

Echo, if worse came to worse you could always come down here for the winter and
be a bus driver, they are hiring, and they are hiring bus aides as well. Its just a
thought, at least it would get you some money coming in while your searching
for something else. If you want any contact info, just pm me.

glad to hear your health is better. Sure hope you find a winter job. As for unemployment, I don't think you can collect it cause your current job is "seasonal". Check out www.coolworks.com.

I am so very rarely wrong about anything that this feels quite strange...but apparently you CAN collect unemployment. The owners have Insurance on this, so it doesn't hurt them financially. I feel really weird...my mind is going...I can feel it...Dave...Dave...(Okay, it's from 2001 A Space Odessy.)

Ava being a bus driver you have to have that endorsement and I don't. Could get one added to my CDL? Unless AZ doesn't require a chauffeurs license? Would a regular CDL cover it? Or maybe even a bus aide job would work? For Kelly and I both? Tho if one of those little buggers pulls a Bart Simpson attitude with me, I might turn him/her over my knee!! Or get the bar of soap out!

As to unemployment and a seasonal job? Yep you can draw unemployment. I did it with a job in TN and with the dump truck job in ME. In both cases as long as I had a guaranteed call back to the job I did not have to actively look for other work. So that is at least one good thing. Now AZ, I'm not sure how it works. The worse thing would be trying to find an apartment cheap enough and then "camping out" in the apt. until we could get some furnishings. ~sigh~

LOL! If nothing else one of the guys that works here is from the closest small town. He might know of an apt or at least somewhere we could throw up the tents. It is suppose to stay a lot warmer in town than here and it wont be the first time we camped in cold temps.

I do have one that I'm eyeballing. It's in WY but the commitment is until June 1st. Need to have Kelly take a peek at it too before I go off half cocked!!! She ran up home to look for something and is suppose to come back down. I wish she would hurry the he77 up!! Dang kid can be as slow as mol'asses in January. grrrrrrrr

Ava? PM me with a little bit of info if you would please? Pay rates for drivers and aides and what the rents are like down there. Thanks

Echo, glad to hear you CAN get unemployment on a seasonal job. I know finding something with housing is tough. Good Luck!
