I assume those were meant to be dessert mice, with chocolate covered cherries (with stems for tails) chocolate kisses, almond slice ears, Oreo pedestals, and frosting eyes and noses-----not to be used for my fire, but for my stomach! No lint in my dessert mice, thank you!!

I guess these belong in the recipe thread, although I would probably never have seen them in there as I don't cook!

Now that I know how to do fire starters, I have another question.
I do'nt like handling an ax to chop kindling, is there any other way to get kindling?
(I sort of missed this summer and hit my leg, thank God the axe was dull) but I'm ok.

Good grief gal you are in the south, look in the grocery store. If ya can't find it? Then ask. Now is the time they should be getting some in for canning. Check the baking isle, paper plate isle or look around for the canning supplies. No southern woman would be without wax during canning season.

ps. if your grocery store doesn't have any? Well tell the manager to get his azz out of the south and go back north!!!

LOL - Believe me - I've looked and asked. No go. One guys said several people have asked about it, but it's just not something we carry!

Found it online - 10 pounds of the stuff! Jeez. I'll just do without, I guess.

Mitch are you sure you won't get the 10lbs. then calculate how much you need for each batch, separate the remaining in same size packages, catalog it and pack it and add it to your palm pilot for reference?

Now that is truly sad!!! Even in my little home town in upstate NY I could go to the grocery store this time of year and get wax. "sheesh" That store does not belong in the south. Probably Krogers! Stupid store!!

what type of craft store do you have? check there and the crayons would work just melt them down like you would wax and put them into what ever containor you are using didn't read the earlier posts to refresh my memory...wonder if that would add color to the fire???

All of you are making me feel very lazy...I just buy a sack of those tea light candles and use those for fire starters!
