My introduction...

Come on in and say hello.

My introduction...

Postby jodycolorado » Sat Sep 05, 2009 11:11 am

Hello, I'm now an RVer after taking delivery of a Casita. So far, she doesn't have a name but she's obviously female since she's all curves. I could use some help here. The usual names like egg don't appeal to me. Could you suggest something?

As for me, I have two broken toes. Happened in the dark, walked into a corner. Today I'm sitting down at the computer reading "mods" just for fun. Now, I have the login I'll be reading your posts.

I live on the Western Slope of Colorado. Critters include two dogs, one cat, one horse and one goat. And, Sandy. I'm not sure what kind of critter she is. I guess a mammal walking on two legs and bringing me a cuppa.

I'm looking forward to meeting you when we go to Arizona this winter. This doesn't have a date or place but we are working on it. The long, cold winter will creep up on us and we will have a solution for it now. Yay, let's get out of here we'll say! :ugeek:

Ouch Jody! that must smart... good thing to sit there and put that foot up and let those toes heal. While you are at it you can read this forum and find out what a crazy but lovable bunch of new sisters you have!

Casitas are neat little campers. I think her name will come to you eventually. Just get to know her and there it will be. (But don't take the first thing that comes to your mind when you are trying to back her up! hee hee..... )

Welcome to our "campfire!"

A big, ol' Forum Welcome, Jody! Based on the condition of your toes, you and Soos should become fast friends! :D
I think the Casitas look wonderful. I wish now I had taken the time to track one down.
How did you see yours in person?

Well, anyway, welcome to the Group. It's chock-full of information and experience, with lots of willing women to share those things...
Enjoy!

WELCOME, JODY!

Walking into a corner and breaking your toes sounds a lot like dancing around a campfire and breaking my ribs!

My ribs took half of my summer vacation to heal, and I hope your toes heal much faster than that! Happy to meet you, and can't wait to see some pics of you and all your critters-----even the 2-footed ones!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Welcome Jody and good to have you with us.

I broke a toe once from dropping a can of pop on it - so I think walking into a wall is very understandable.

I've never named my rig (after over 4 years now) so I'm not the one to help with that.

Let us know when/where you are in AZ - some of us just might be able to join you at some point.

Welcome Jody, how cool to have another person from my part of the world.
I'm actually from Colorado but I live in Arizona and I'm sort of stuck here for now.
It may be "for now" but not "for ever"
As you nose around the forum reading posts, you'll find we are a very fun bunch
and many goofballs, and we really enjoy pictures so when ever you get ready
to share, we would love to see pics of your critters.

Hi Jody - welcome to a great group. I feel for you with your toes - no really I mean it - two days ago I was walking in to den and caught little toe on sofa leg. Loud crack and pain. Today it still points to the right and a quarter of my foot is red, blue and swollen. And we leave on a trip to Nevada tomorrow. My husband just laughs at me - he is always telling me to wear shoes. Oh well.....Take care of yourself.

Broken toes and twisted ankles....they both fall in the..."can I have a redo on that last maneuver?" Welcome aboard....I too am looking forward to escaping some of the cold in Ohio's winters......Might not make it far this winter but am getting closed and closed to traveling farther and farther. Okay, have to ask....do you have a "horse" sitter lined up ....or do all creatures travel with you????

Also for Mitch, last November I happened to stay in the state park, Stone Mt in NC....the Casita folks were having a rally....All I had to do was indicate an interest in the Casita (I have always thought they were neat) An hour later I had "toured" at least 3 different vehicles and had learned all sorts of information about adaptations people made to them...... They were all really neat people and excited to share their Casitas..... Other than the one gentleman who had two standard poodles traveling with him...I was concerned that there wasn't quite enough room for my pack.....of four paws...

I had to go see what a Casita looked like. That is really cute and welcome to the forum. I'm not much on naming things but it sure does look like fun. I've had my rig for a little over a year now and named her Lily. She's a flower in a sometimes too busy to stop and smell the roses life style. I'm a part time RVer. A couple of years ago I recovered from breast cancer which changed my attitude about waiting do do what I want to do.

Next month I head to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta then down to the Gila National Forest. I'm leaving my ERA in Tucson in storage and flying back to Juneau until after the first of the year.

Welcome abord! jayme

Welcome to the sistahs forum. You will love your 'egg'.

I have the Spirit Deluxe and named it Birdie's Egg. It is just about the right size for me and my travels. I pull it with a Toyota 4Runner so I can drop it and run all over. I have had it in Tucson (june of this year), Las Cruces, (sept - to nov last year and a few days this year), all over central to west Texas and in SE Oklahoma (where I am now). I am full timing in it!!!!

What part of Colorado are you in currently? What part of AZ are you headed too? When are you going out?

Veda is another sistah that has a Casita - as does her sister. Veda has done lots of mods on her egg.

The Tucson heat convinced me to put reflective coating on my windows. Cut the heat down to about 1/4 what it was before. Did you get it in Rice or were you lucky enough to get a pre-owned one near you?

Mods are lovely...I put pergo on the floor and like it really well. Of course, still working on other things....each one as I go along is something I picked up from another egg owner or from one of the gals on here.

You will love this forum for all the information, comradeship, laughter (they don't give you a spew alert, you have to clean your pc screen) and the help.
