Thanks to everyone

I thought for a few days that no one was going to talk to me. It was just my ignorance, I did not figure out how to check for messages until tonight. Thanks so much to everyone for all the encouragment. Every day when I go to work, I think about the day I will be driving away in my rv. I live in south Louisiana & plan to head west. My son is in Los Angeles & I miss him terribly. I plan to make my rv my home. I've been reading about "long term camping" that is practically free. I have a lot to learn about rving befor I take off & I,m working on that now. Thanks again, Skylark.

Hi Skylark,
Where do you live, I am in South Louisiana? I live south of Abbeville which is south of Lafayette. I know about missing your kids. I have one in New Jersey and my baby(30 in November lol) is in Seattle. I went to Seattle a couple of years ago but those people live at a different pace than Louisiana.

My husband doesn't want to RV so my sister and I go to Toledo Bend when we can and I belong to a club in Texas and camp with them when I can. You have found a group that will help you learn about rving. We will answer all your questions and some you haven't even thought of yet.

When you head west, if you take I-10, you'll pass right thru Kerrville, TX so please plan on stopping by and saying "hi". I'm in Texas usually Oct thru April.

There is a neat website called freecampgrounds.com. I've used it a lot, even found a site with full hookups at an RV dealer. It wasn't pretty, but I've found sites besides rivers, beaches and in trees. Beth also has a good book where she found many really inexpensive sites in New Mexico for us. The more you do the more possibilities you will see and the more tricks you will learn. We'd all love to hear about your travels so keep posting (with pics) You will get lots of help from all of us.

Slylark, I too am in LA, just north of Sulphur! I'm glad you figured out how to read the posts, I was a little confused at first also. I couldn't figure out why sometimes when I got on the forum all the symbols were black and sometimes they were red. Ava helped me understand that if I wasn't logged in they are all black, when I log in I can see the red ones have new posts since the last time I was logged in. If they have a red star on them, that means that you posted a reply somewhere in that thread! Cool, huh, I'm amazed at what excites me now days,

Yeah, Vickie, it doesn't take much to get some people excited! Welcome Skylark, I'm in SoCal, so when you get ready to make your trip, give a hollar, I'll try and get you through the area with the least amount of stress!

Good idea Mitch, you've probably pushed your luck about as far as you should for a week or so.

Mitch, Mitch, Mitch! What am I going to do with you? The only solution is to visit you and slap you upside the head. Oh I know...I'm not hitting you, I'm high-fiving your face.
