Home from Lewiston, getting ready for big trip

Postby ali1257 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 10:00 pm

We made it home from our trip to Cheney, WA and Lewiston, ID. We had great weather and a grand time with our grandson, Max.

Now we are home for three weeks and then we take off on our big trip. We leave the evening of September 19th and plan to return on December 6th.

I am both excited and anxious about leaving. I think that's pretty common.

This is our first big trip (all the rest have been for one/two weeks). I think I've remembered all the things I need to do before we leave - making arrangements for the mail, paying of bills, canceling the direct tv, need to buy rechargable batteries for the camera, picking up prescriptions, need to send the itenerary to the kids and a couple of friends. What am I forgetting?

I know I don't post often, but I will try to do better especially on our trip.

No matter how much you do - you'll still wonder what you forgot. Sounds to me like you got the basics. Anything else will survive. And I'm glad you're posting - good to hear from you. Have a great time on this upcoming trip.

Hi Ali, I haven't been on much lately either, but when I do get back on I wonder why I didn't post more often. Have you posted pics of your rig? I had a 1984 Class A. I still miss it, it was so comfortable. I now have a TT and as Beth pointed out (she has a Class C) both of you can start your engine and drive away. If I had had the bear experience she had I wouldn't have been able to get out of my TT and into my truck. Let us know about your trip and as everyone always says, Pictures please!

Great to see you here Ali!

Sounds like you have your ducks in a row to head out on the trip. I know the pre-trip jitters, I always get that and I don't go for very long or very far. Maybe it's just excitement, anticipatiion? :D

I know we'll all be looking forward to seeing some pics from your adventures!

Best wishes on your new journeys....the more I head out on trips the less I fret about what I might have forgotten..... Its always something....but I have learned to review the constants.... medications, vet paper work for the Pups, purse and credit cards :D , etc...... if I forget to take a map out of the car and put it in the MH, I purchase another...... run out of dog food because I didn't check the supple, I purchase more...... Left the sun screen back on the counter, the store has more.... There are stores all along the road and though I like to save all the cash I can....I have learned to replace a few things rather than drive myself silly, or beat myself up, for not remembering something  There are enough really important, can't fudge without stuff, to worry over the replaceable :D :D

Ali, check the RV stuff topic. Carol (Asirimarco) posted her "leave on a trip" list. Glad to hear you're going for the BIG one. Looking forward to joining you. carold

I remember a vacation DH and I took quite a few years ago and I forgot to pack him skivvies.....OOPS! We just stopped and bought him some more, not the brand he liked and believe me I heard about it for 3 weeks! Don't sweat the small stuff, make a list for the big stuff and have fun!
