BTW, Red Lobster has all you can eat shrimp on special this month.

congratulations Sunshine...this was the official retirement party last day was it not...... now deal with the adjustment period....as in reminding yourself what day of the week it is b/c ? oh never mind...it doesn't matter anymore unless you made specific plans.... :) I missed some of the wonderful people I worked with ...and they kept working so it was hard to "bother" them and their little free time....... But I adjusted to not getting up at the crack of dawn and found time to read alot more books, but that was before I found out about THE forum...so now it seems I read a lot ....of posts. :D Reading is good for the brain.....

I have a ton of firewood to leave for this fire as I didn't get my woodstove hooked back up yet! And, as it's too early for a beer this morning, I will stoke the fire and then have some coffee and a pistachio muffin to begin my day! HAPPY RETIREMENT DAY SUNSHINE!

(I might even share a bite of my muffin with someone!)

holy moly, the campfire is almost out, gotta give it a good stir, then I'm gonna grab
a beer, there's plenty for everyone and warm my toes by the fire. We had a great
monsoon rain this morning and everything is still wet, some streets are still flooded
and somebody even had lightening hit their house and it caused a fire. No one was
hurt and the fire got put out by the fire department but there was a little damage
of course.

well now, how nice to sit by the fire on the last day of labor day weekend, and for some it
signifies the end of summer. That would kind of hold true for us out here in the desert too.
At least our temps are coming down to right about 100 or so, and nights are getting cooler.
Its been such a busy day for me, lots of extra cleaning, and I have no idea where all that
energy came from but there it was. I had to defrost the refrigerator as I noticed the fins
in the back were all covered in ice and couldn't remember the last time I did it. Obviously
it was quite awhile ago!
So now I'll stir the fire, add a few logs and crack open a beer. ahhhh, makes me wonder
what a "beer float" would taste like  idle minds tend to wonder, and in case Mitch
and Vickie are wondering, I did not say addle minded tend to wander

Sorry I missed the fire last night as I was too tired out to stop by. But I will leave some dry wood here for tonight to keep this blaze burning. AND, best of all, it doesn't need a clean chimney to burn safely!!!

Sounds as if you had a busy day, Ava! I did a lot of nothing but wander back and forth from trailer and yard to barn and house, slowly moving all my 'stuff' to its winter storage spaces. I also mowed the part of the lawn I let go 'wild' all summer to show off the wildflowers....the side hill by my chimney. I also mowed where the screen room was set up.

Have a nice day, you all!
