well, I won't be on the road any time soon but dumping aol is still a good idea, and I
think I have an email account with yahoo, I'll have to check if its still there. My biggest
problem is I don't know how to use anything else except aol, so this will be a learning
curve for me and eventually I want an aircard so I will be able to hook up anywhere.
I'm gonna have to talk to my computer guy at work and have him show me a few
things. The computers at work have IE on them but they are dsl I believe although
we do have wifi at work too and if I had a laptop I could access the wifi at work just
by getting my laptop cleared to use on their network and they would give me the
passkey. Its all very interesting and someday I'll be hightech :D will that make
me a "techi"?

'Techie' is the nicer way of saying 'Computer geek' I think! I find I am becoming better and better at figuring out computers, but worse and worse at figuring out texting terms and abbreviations of words.

Eventually, when I take to the roads, I hope to have a Verizon air card for internet access, and a satellite TV dome on my rig. WiFi can always be used whenever/wherever you can find it to access the internet. Most places have no limit as to how much time you can use their WiFi, although some do set a limit for free and then you pay per day. My Verizon email account is always accessible online, so I can check it anywhere I can access the internet. That just leaves a regular phone I would need----and I'll probably have to get a total Verizon package with Direct TV, the aircard internet access, and unlimited cell phone calling, if there is such a thing. I have the Verizon triple package deal here in my house with Direct TV, unlimited calling on home phone, and DSL internet. I am worried that an aircard might have a limited amount of time to use the internet, and I am not used to that with DSL.

If I have TV and internet and phone, I am set no matter where I am!

Happy travels!

Soos, we've never "ran out of" time on our air card and we are "hooked up" mostly 24/7.....but unless you do alot of downloading of music or movies, you probably won't....(info on this from my friend, Margie, who is a Verizon Wireless Store Manager. ;) ) We have the what I call the $60 plan ($59 and change... )....

Ava, yes, you do get a little more in the signal bars...with the antenna....

I had posted earlier, but guess it went into "la-la land".............
