My day in the Adirondacks

Here's all I have managed to accomplish today! Rain on and off is keeping the painting chore on the shelf. Molly looks about like I feel at this point! I am going down the road in the kicker to pick some blueberries which have multiplied in the past two weeks. Later........

I love that Molly is still snoozing on the outdoor sofa,... way to go Mols! Seems very dark there,... darker than it is here. Looks like you might have a good week to paint after all.... that is unless you give in and go to Silver Lake.

I just had a little supper and will now get some laundry started. Ended up taking a nap earlier. Geeeesh, going to be hard going back to work1

I can see the raindrops in the video. Looks very relaxing; I'd likely be napping with Molly.

Your porch is so inviting; Makes me wish I had taken the time earlier this year to clean my screen porch. It has not been used this year (so far) and that is a real shameful waste.

Hope you found a big bucket of blueberries.

Soos, your porch looks like it would be a nice place to sit and relax and watch the critters. Take a nap too!

Recipe and snacks are in the kitchen, and, if it ever stops raining, we can have a campfire in the mobile fire pit on the open deck! However, there will be NO DANCING around the fire!!!!

Don't I wish we could actually do this----it is so lonely here now that all have left, including the summer birds. Soon the sound of geese heading south will be heard, and the first snow will decorate my yard! ACK! I am usually happy to see the first snow of the year, but I am dreading it this year. I need to keep in mind that it could be the last full winter I will need to spend here, if I can get this place 'destuffed' enough to head south with the geese next winter! (After I take a few loops on my cross-country skis)

News flash from the Lake Champlain Valley,....(as the Canada goose flies,.. about 35-40 south east of Soosie)... This morning large flock of geese came down in the field just below my house. Looks like they are headed south early this year. Or at least over to VT to munch on the cut corn fields near the Dead Creek Wildlife Refuge before they continue on their flight.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! Say it isn't so!!!

SOB......way too early for geese to leave! After seeing tons of hummingbirds for the past week, I notice there are very few of them left today, also. Holy Cow! It CAN'T be time for fall yet.

You are right - it cannot be time for the geese to be moving yet. Have you noticed how much shorter the daylight hours have already gotten and how much faster they are getting shorter now?

I sure have noticed, and soon I will getting up in the dark again---the worst part of early morning hours, for me. My clock is set for daylight, and it's getting later and later in the morning and earlier and earlier it's leaving at night. ACK!! Falling behind will help with the morning darkness, but not the evening hours----I like daylight mornings better than daylight evenings, however, so I will be a happy camper when that happens!

On my walk yesterday I noticed some trees are starting to turn color!
Also getting light later in the AM and sooner in the PM. I tend to go into hibernation mode with the shorter daylight hours.
