:o Oh My Goodness Sharon...you weren't kidding when you said you boogered up Hope, were you. Just made my heart sink seeing that as I know how you felt when you saw it. I don't understand some of the RV parks...they get so ridiculous with "decorations of nature", they don't stop to think how difficult it can be to navigate between them. That state park at San Mateo when I met up with Evie and Lara was a evolution as well. I think Evie got a boo boo on that trip.
Me, I like to hit things hummin down the freeway pinned in between semi's and BANG....

Any way, had to come online and give you my hearfelt sympathies. I wish I could get away, but same ol same. RV is now a lawn ornament and will remain that way for quite some time. One of these days we'll bet together for dinner or brunch.

Hope you can find someone to fix Hope's boo boo. :(

Sharon, I know that sick to your stomach feeling too! Ugh! And Donna, please "splain about your statement of hitting things pinned between two semi's and rolling down the freeway! Did I ever tell ya'll about the guardrail that jumped out and grabbed the bike tire on the back of my RV? First time out in the dang thing. I ended up replacing the WHOLE end cap $$$$$$. Yup, I know that sick to your stomach feeling!

If Donna doesn't come on and 'splain her Booboo (she's really busy, doesn't even have time for her bestest friend) I'll tell the story. I wasn't there, but heard the story. Another reason I need to paint the words "FOLLOW ME" on the back of Hope when my friends do a trip with me! Altho in all honesty, there wasn't a reason for her not to this time.

OMG, poor Hope - and even more so, poor Sharon who I know was really upset when Hope got hurt. I get a sick to my tummy feeling everytime something happens to my rig - and mine is old and yellowed - who would notice?

As to the things happening on the road - that's what happens to me also. Yesterday (or day before) a truck drove over someone else's tire on the road - that shredded it more and sent a piece under my rig - that made a loud ugly noise. I haven't, so far, found any damage from that. Hopefully, it was just the noise that was so scary.

Here's hoping that Hope is feeling better.

okay since Sharon didn't do such a good job esplainin.... After our trip to Death Valley, and last meal together at one of our fav lil spots, she went her way home and I went mine (reluctantly). Got pinned in between speeding semis and guess I wasn't going fast enough for one and it came up and paced me on my left. Up ahead I saw a tow truck on the shoulder of the road coming toward the road (with large extended side mirrors). Well it got too close, simis just missing him, I couldn't move over further to the left as a tanker was there, and the semi on my butt and one in front, and cross winds (almost forgot to mention those)... Well all of a sudden I hear the LOUD BANG. Then noticed my right side mirror knocked out of whack and the glass mirror dangling out by the wires. So got to drive the rest of the way home with a blind side. NOT fun. Still have the boo boo on my mirror, bu tit oculd've been much worse.

Oh and lets not forget the very first night I brough it home and was showing it off to the kids, and opened up cargo doors, then we walked around into the RV, and kids were all excited to push buttons to see the slides go out. Ahhhhhhhhhh yup! Have a couple ding chips on my doors from where the slide hit the doors that were still in the up position. :( Only takes once to remember to check check and double check that one.

Well all hope your travels are safe ones...with NO boo boos.
Take care... and I'll try to pop in more often.
Yes, my life just does not seem my own these days.
RVn simply a dream of the past.
Maybe next year.

I probably should have let Sharon back herself in and perhaps she wouldn't have injured Hope. She can back Hope through the eye of a needle!

And we didn't even mention Diana's tree limb! Those huge cottonwoods have numerous dead branches and one broke off and just missed Diana's baby by about 6 inches! People came running from 4 campsites away. Maintenance guy said it happens all the time!

And, what Sharon didn't know is that I had to climb in and out of Flitter about 5 times to check where I was while backing between those two da-n trees!

Oh, yeah, after Sharon and I had our arms wrapped around the dumb boulder and our hands underneath trying to roll it - the black widow crawled up the side! Good thing it was the helpful visitor who had her hands on it by then and not your's truly. The whole town of Bishop would have heard the screech! If it has more than 4 legs, I get the screaming meemies. (Or if it slithers, too). Some outdoorswoman, huh?

Evie, you did good backing me around that truck that was out in the road....the booboo was all my fault, knew it was there and shouldn't have been over to the right so far. My backer upper sense seems to be going downhill lately. Nothing wrong with getting out and looking, that's what saved you from getting a booboo, too! You done good on both counts!

No Sparkle, I didn't take the boulder as a souvineer!!! Now if it had been a dead cow like you wanted to schlep home when I was up there.....Nah, not even if it was a dead cow! I never want to see that boulder again!

Donna, did I tell you that that tow truck was still on the side of the road when I came down Cajon? I couldn't get over and he threw me the birdie 'cause I came so close to him. Guess he was getting tired of women drivers trying to pick him off the freeway! Dumb SOB deserved it tho, seems like he could have gotten over a little further off the road, his mirrors were sticking out into the lane.

Laughing at you getting the birdie - and imagining you throwing it back.

That said - get your butt here to the north rim while Sparkle and I are still here. You are possibly on a trip that will take you past here, right? And Evie, would love to see you again, too. And anyone else - come and visit.

Beth, the plan right now is to be there Sept 28 or 29. No, I'm not on a trip going anywhere near North Rim, although I'll be there on the motorcycle Friday. I looked and searched and looked again to be sure, but, nope, the road to Tennesee isn't anywhere near NR. But hey, it's only about 900 miles out of my way but who cares? I certainly don't! Haven't been on a long rv trip this year and I've got hitch itch bad, so might as well make the trip a good one! Just need to find a way to kill a week and a half after the Tn GTG. Son isn't off work until Oct 21st and GTG is over the 9th.
