Saturday and its early

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday and its early

Postby avalen » Sat Aug 22, 2009 5:38 am

Good morning, I'm up way too early and no chance of going back to bed, coffee is
dripping and breakfast is gonna have to wait til I can get to the store. I'll just do a
little extra tiding up, clean out the fridge and when the sun comes I can get my
shopping done and go get those bills paid. By the time I get all my routine stuff
done for Saturday I'll be wantin a nap, an EARLY nap, but its gonna happen for
sure! I'll be crawlin back in bed about 9:30.
We finally had a good storm last night, it rolled through about the time I was
listening to the 10 o'clock news, thunder and lightening, some wind and a good
amount of rain. Will have to catch the news in a while to see what it did around
town, hopefully there will be no damage.
Have a great day and be safe.

Good Saturday Morning, All....
Am also up early today.....and like Ava, there is probably a nap in my future today, too.... But that's life...humid here all night which keeps me tossing and turning and sweating...yuck.. We'll see how things go.... ;)

Glad to see Donna, dcricket, checked in with us over night....we missed you!!!

The thread on Air Cards is going strong and looks like the upcoming GTGs are getting organized....I'll be posting some more stuff on the PA GTG sometime this weekend. Did a little refining on things to do....more later there....

Okay, Saturday's coffee pot is done dripping and the breakfast goodies are laid out on the table...Come in, sit awhile, and enjoy the chit-chat....

Have a great day, All.... ;)

Had thunderstorms all night and a lot of rain. Temperatures are suppose to drop, sure hope so. Lori, will watch for updates on the Pa. gtg. Checked on the damaged rv and was told again it would be ready by the end of August. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I will make the gtg.

Well, we've been booking it from CO to FL and are now in Mississippi. LOOONG day yesterday. Not my favorite way to travel. Found a gem of a Corp of Engineer campground off I-55 south of Memphis near Enid. On a lake, fantastic sites and-since we're seniors-only $8 per night with 50 amp and water, large sites and flat concrete pads.. Wish we could hang around :( We don't want to get in too late, so we will stop earlier today and get in Sunday. I'm expecting HOT and HUMID, not at all like CO when we left Thursday. Well, DH is putting the dishes away, which is a sign he is ready to pull in the slides, hook up the car and get on the road. Will make another pot of----oops--he's doing that now :D :D . OK, off to get dressed and back behind the wheel. Hope everyone has a good day. Will try and catch up this evening. carold

Good morning Everyone - I was going to bed about the time you guys were getting up. For some reason lately I haven't been able to go to sleep. Spent part of last night cleaning up files on the computer and transfering music from CD to computer so I can take it with us. Was going to go sew but didn't feel like going down there at night - too many windows and not enough outside light.
Bought some material yesterday. All flamingos - going to make a curtain for night for Jennie - dividing our living space from the front windows. Will photo when finished. Bill told me last night he was done out there - but guess where he is now? Cannot imagine what he is doing.
It was the perfect day here yesterday. in the 70s, blue sky, no humidity, slight breeze. The kind of day that even if you tried you can't be down. Hope today is the same. And hope the same for everyone.
More info on Memphis campground - sounds good????

Shirl, I'm so glad to hear that you will most likely make it to the GTG next month! Woo Hoo. Can't wait to meet you and everyone else. Lori has some plans a going and it's gonna be a great weekend for sure!

Still wet outside this morning but sure hope the "cold" front moves in so I can get some outside things done. Some of my butterfly bushes are in serious need of trimming back!

Carold, why the hurry to get back to FL? Just curious. Hope it is nothing serious. That campground sounds like a winner for sure. Maybe you could post more info when you get the chance in the CG folder?

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

I am really late today----went to a late gtg at my friend Issy's down the road and got home at about midnight. Then, as the title suggests, I caught 4 mice in my live traps last night, and so took the kicker, with its new battery I installed yesterday after the old one arced out against the hood and scared the pooty outta me, down the road to release the mice. I thought I had only two, but surprise surprise----4 of the little critters!

Didn't do my usual nail polish markers on the back of their necks, so won't know if they make their way back here!

Hope that Cedar and others are having a fun time at the bluegrass thing. Weather here has been way better than forecast suggested.

Today it's dump day for me, and then painting, if weather permits. If it rains, it's closet cleaning time. ACK!!!

Coffee sure does taste good thanks to you early birds! Sounds as if Carol has found a gem of a campground---would love to check it out. That senior discount is something I need to look into after my retirement next year. I know I have asked before, but how do you apply for a discount to corp of engineer campgrounds? I MUST begin writing info down in a secure document when I receive it, as my brain is like a sieve (seive) strainer lately.

I was very sad to read somewhere in here about the sale of MissBhaven----I have been eyeing that vehicle for a long time now, wondering if/when I would have enough equity in my truck and trailer to be able to get a loan for it. Some lucky person got a neat deal with that! That would have been PERFECT for me. Sigh-----hopefully another one will show up down the road when I have more equity in my vehicles.

Hope you all have a great day doding something fun----gotta pack dump bags into truck now after I read new posts.

Good morning. It does look like makings for a good day in spite of not sleeping and my encounter with that dang opossum (see no sleep on general thread).

Forecast is for lower temps and humidity - always a good sign for August in the south. Nap idea sounds pretty good also.

Must try to get by at least a couple of the antique malls today. I've totally neglected my business for past couple of months. Bet one could write their names in the dust that has formed over that time span. Not good for business. Geez, just looked around here - dust is taking over on the home front too. House keeping is not a task I want to tackle today.

Have some more work to do on developing budget for my sister. Dreading both doing it and going over it with her. She did ask and she does need help with it. Still, it does not look good. Still no death certificate for her husband and cannot apply for SS survivor benefit without it. She is not old enough to draw full benefit but anything will help.

Just peeked out back door. Don't see any stray critters so I will take my coffee outside along with Nicky and just enjoy the beautiful morning - at least what's left of it.

Safe and happy travels to all.

I couldn't sleep last night either! Ah ha, just looked at the calendar and the full moon was Thursday. Good, I can blame the moon and not the coffee. When they made my espresso drink yesterday afternoon the guy said, Oh I might have given you a double shot by mistake. I took it anyway thinking to drink only part, yeah right. Wish I had been awake at three to watch Supernatural Science on PBS,they were doing a feature on ESP but of course I fell asleep. Our VCR is broken and the DVD we bought doesn't record.
I have yoga at 11:00 then lunch with a teenager for a lesson on using my iPhone. Isn't it amazing and annoying how kids just seem to know exactly what to do with all these gadgets. I think kids should figure out they could be earning money by giving tech lessons instead of mowing lawns and selling lemonade in the summer.
