More work done on Jennie - still more to go

Postby asirimarco » Thu Aug 20, 2009 5:14 pm

Bill has been working from dawn to dusk on Jennie - she is really coming along. Everytime he finishes one thing he thinks of something else to do. My work starts when his is finished.
As before I have posted pictures in my blog - photobucket drives me nuts.

Beautiful Carol. Would love to do the tiles on the back wall of kitchen, but can't decide where to stop, etc. Well, who knows, maybe I'll figure it out. carold

What an amazing make-over you are doing!

I really like the added "linen closet"... Did Bill buy that cabinet?,... no probably not, he probably made it being such a great carpenter. How did he attach it to the wall? Also, Does Bill make his cupboard doors or buy them?

I like it so much I might do something like that in LG2. Biggest complaint about LG2 is lack of cupboard doors. Lots of space but only a few doors leaving panels to be knocked out and doors put on them. I'm tired already of reaching around behind the solid panels to see what's there. Need three over bed and two over sofa. plus the possibility of adding a whole cupboard in the bathroom. Help, Bill,.... come visit? hee hee... :D

I have to tell his deep secret - he buys the doors, unfinished, at Menards (Home Depot and Lowes have them too.) In the past he has made doors too. He builds and finishes the cupboards. To attach things - I know he uses a lot of Gorrilla Glue and of course screws and brackets of all lengths. Yesterday he made a platform to put the coffee pot on but the only place it would fit was over the cover for the trash. So he hinged the trash cover so I could use it and then he hinged the coffee pot platform so it could open to fully open the trash cover to get the bags out. Hummm sounds strange will have to post pictures to explain that. And now he is making a counter extension for when I'm cooking. And what am I doing. Well I sewed a couple of covers for the tops of the front seats so we don't get them dirty as we pass back and forth. Today I have to figure out some kind of curtain for night to provide privacy from the front windows.
busy, busy, busy.

Ann, I use a sun deflector for the inside of the window - but when parked for anytime (you might remember when I was in TX) I have one of those white things that fits over the windows from the outside. I love it - and it's simple to put on and off even for one night if you want. Light doesn't bother me that much, so I use it more to help insulate when too hot or cold (and it does that also!)
