Izzy's swimming lesson

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Aug 19, 2009 7:01 pm

Below are pics of Izzy's swimming lesson with Blondie. Izzy has gone swimming with Stuart and Herschel but had trouble navigating the reeds around the pond at the farm and her butt would occasionally sink and she had trouble maintaining forward movement. Blondie thought the boys were asking too much. She thought it might be easier if there was solid ground under the paws :P

Are you sure I'm suppose to wear this thing?

Ma, I never saw Stuart wear this? Are you sure it will keep my butt from sinking?

Like this, Ma?

Oh, this could be fun.....

But I like the deep water. Come on out Ma, leave the smelly dead fish behind!

Look ma, no vest! I can do it! I can really do it!

ooooo that looks like fun
I remember once when we had a black lab and threw the ball in the lake, had no idea
he didn't know how to swim, thought it was a natural thing but NOT!!, he sunk like
a rock and I had to go in and rescue him, so we gave him time to figure it out and
after that he was fine, and he wasn't even a pup, he was a grown dog! My second
black lab hated water and wouldn't even walk in a puddle.

Yeah, Sassy, my Lab mix HATES to get her feet wet. You should have seen the look in Wyoming when she jumped out of the rig to go potty and there was 8 inches of snow on the ground, especially when she squatted and got her little tush wet and cold.
