Here are some pics from the gtg at Soo's. The Ruckus has begun!
Friday, and a beautiful sunny day to arrive at the ORS GTG. Carol and I were first to arrive at Soo’s, so we chose the only patch of shade by the trees.
Next came Richard with his two little Yorkies.
Here comes Pete. We had to hold the phone and electric wires up with a wooden pole for him to drive under.
Cedar and Kathy came next. Richard is lending advice while she tries valiantly to back into her favorite spot. Alas, while the Chalet fit nicely, she finally opted to a move to a new spot with the TT.
Last to arrive was Carol with her cute little Scamp.
Time for online chat. I learned a new way to use the mouse from Pete.
Pete and Cedar with dueling computers.
Sunset through the trees.
Campfire and sunset afterglow.
After darkness fell we had an incredible view of the star-studded night sky complete with shooting stars.
Happy Birthday Richard! Soos gifted him with a “new” webbed lawn chair which promptly split as soon as he sat down.
In the morning most of us walked to the pond, a beautiful, peaceful setting for sure.
Soos showed us her leanto which she built herself from scratch and has spent many summers enjoying.
Pond overflow drain which channels water to another pond on the other side of the road.
Daisies and sunshine on the pond
Soos will tell you the story of this plant which could have made her rich if only she’d had the patience to collect enough. The white petals are actually leaves, and the center is the flower.
Which turns into these red berries. What’s it called again, Soos?
Soos and Molly leading the way to Cold Brook.
Cold Brook, which although I can’t say from personal experience, I’m sure lives up to its name.
Back at “camp,” and time to turn on the AC and fire up the computer.
Having a great time, wish you were here. Those of you coming better get here today…Soos is planning to feast us with grilled steak and corn tonight. Cedar has blueberry pancakes with real NY maple syrup in the morning. I’m going to have to take some more hikes.
