Hey, VIckie, remember back on July 2 - you posted that the membership here had reached 150???

Well, seeing as you taught me to look low for the day's birthdays, this morning, I noticed that the membership is still 150 and we've had several new members...

Not that I'm counting, but 'sup???

Mitch....we had "issues" awhile back about ladies joining....then not posting, like forever  and suspected Spammers :x ....so after much discussion on the topic, the ruling was that after so long (Beth can fill the time limit..but I think it is 6 months) Beth sends them an e-mail asking if they are still interested, if they are, she askes that they post in the "Introduce yourself" section or where ever...If not interested or not ever heard from again....after the time thingy and the e-mail note, they are deleted....But once you have posted, anywhere, then you are stuck with us like forever  or if you opt out.... :( Hence, this is probably why the member count is still at 150 even after our new members have joined and posted....

Hope this clears it up for you.....I'm pretty sure Beth also put this in the "Rules" somewhere.....and that if I've not explained all this correctly, she'll let us know.... ;)

I have never noticed any formal concerns regarding posting TOO often and/or causing "spewing" of liquids onto computer keyboards. I think you two are both very good in both categories!

Yep, that's a perfect explanation. while Beth has been in Alaska I've been doing some forum "secretarial" work for her. In the "no introduction" category we've discoverd quite a few folks that weren't "real." That number may continue to go down even further as I've been boondocking and have been busy so there is more cleaning up to do when I get back home.

You'd be amazed at the high number of spammers that register, no wonder quite a few got through. They are very good at what they do and they look so real, with even a U.S. email/IP. Yet when I have sent the nicely worded and approved by Beth email to post an intro I often get an automated reply that the email account doesn't exist. So there you have it! :D

have to make a confession! my husband Bill aka The Driver had registered when the forum first opened. He looked at me quite puzzled the other day when he got his very nicely worded email about "poop or get off the pot" :o NO THAT'S NOT WHAT IT ACTUALLY SAID He couldn't figure out why someone was writing to him from the Womens RV Forum. So any way - he never posts so I replied to take his name off registration. He can use my account when he wants to. So guess that makes it 149 now.

Not sure where it will settle,... still more to go,... quite a few I think are spammers, but have sent the email anyhow... I don't want to delete anyone that is real and wants to participate.

I have to tell you .... We really need to give Beth a huge thank you for all she does. It's a time consuming job to keep up with. I'm glad I volunteered to help her while she's in Alaska. I have all kinds of new respect for folks that are Admin for a forum.
