Everyone is sitting down enjoying the fire right? I actually cleaned some today. Dust bunnies were scurrying hether and yon. I like the visual reinforcement of seeing all the dog hair and stuff in the Dyson and knowing it isn't on the carpet or in the corners anymore! Several dogs got groomed and the spa was open for nail trims.... always a favorite even with the grinder. Started some laundry, made my reservation for the gtg in PA in Sept and sent in a reservation for the Ohio Gypsy Journal Rally the next week. Next assignment is to go ahead and order a TV under counter brace for the MH and a small 13 to 15 in TV. It took me forever to find a site that had anything smaller than 19in WITH a built in DVD. Given the size of my rig I really don't want even the 15 inch I found. It will cost a little more but I think the smaller one will work. The really small ones that I found in Target and Best Buy didn't have very good reviews for them or had to be wall mounted, or were to wide to fit under my counter, etc. Then I need to research the need for an additional booster to actually receive a decent signal. We are struggling here at the house every time there is a storm or windy day! Hum, but the chair feels real good right now! And my eye lids are getting heavy.......

I'm here,... close to the fire. It's clear skies and chilly here tonight,... fire feels great. I just brought a couple more bundles of wood,... and another box of wine which I put on the picnic table. ...

Will sit awhile a have some wine with ya', Cedar....am baby-sitting the Gkids tomorrow while DS and DDIL are working....so have good connection tonight.....and am so happy that we had no rain today....suppose to be sunny and warm tomorrow, too....

will sit for a bit and keep ya company too. Been watching Bandit hobble around on
his poor foot, don't know whats wrong with it, can't find any thorns but he's still
favoring it. Gave him a dose of metacam (doggy pain medicine) and he's doing
better with that but I notice he's having some muscle wasting in the shoulder.
He's old and hasn't been well for years and he does have cancer so this could be
part of it, I don't know. I just don't like to see this happen. He is still just as
happy as can as though, comes runnin on 3 when I rustle the cookie bag
Wish I had some popcorn, its been awhile since I had any. Gonna have to put
that on my grocery list.

Evening all, it is a nice clear night. Just got home from putting in a few more hours on the new community park. I think it will take a couple more evenings of work and it will be ready for the safety fill stuff. They are getting some type of recycled rubber bark stuff. It will be interesting to see that.

Got a couple kitchen cabinets cleaned out today. DS to the Dr for his annual physical. I will admit that I did not yet get to the checkbook and the bills. May do that here later...or at least get it balanced.

I have dinner ready..it is football season now so we have two shift dinner..with practice from 6 -8:30 pm. We have early dinner that is simple and basic. Then I make something more for when DH and DS get home. He has a sandwich before practice, but by the time he arrives home he is ready for something much more.
Tonight I made rice and beans with veggies. The girls ate earlier while I was working at the park and they had mac and cheese with hot dogs.

So I think I will sit back have a glass of wine and enjoy the fire for a bit.

Wet dogs around the campfire tonight! Herschel and Stuart took the Izzy pup over to the farm to see if she would follow them into the pond. She did, slowly and surely going farther and farther out across the pond iris until she was just swimming. She appeared quite proud of herself.... even if she couldn't keep up with the fast flying we'll race each other every time duo. Stuart would have been happy to swim all night. I went to an Art fair up in Yellow Springs, Ohio earlier in the day and managed to admire and not buy anything. I realized that I had gone innocently enough without my camera! What was I thinking! I will need to train myself to carry the camera. There were several interesting booths and views. You have to know also that Yellow Springs is the small town which still has sights and senses coming out of the late 60's! And all very art centered. Was home of the Antioch College that had to close finally last year.

Another day slowly closing..... I have this to do list and am slowly checking accomplishments off....but after working April, MAy and June... I am still enjoying the hay I am retired, I'll do that one tomorrow sense of the day..... For now just enjoying the thought of a campfire.......

Okay, I'm going to stoke this fire, grab the wine (if I can find it) and maybe - just maybe - suck it right out of the bottle. Too tired to get a glass. The temperature wasn't that hot today, but man, it was HOT out there. Humidity wasn't in the 90s, either! Right now, it's 88 degrees and 70%. Not bad, but my knees were giving out (climbing a ladder up down up down up down...)

I think it's time for Sunday Afternoon Finito - I am SOOOOOO tired! (oh, quit your whining and suck it up!)
Let the wine flow begin to flow...

I'll add my sample bottle of fairly dry blackberry wine to the mix. Last month a friend and I drove 100 miles to pick blackberries. In talking with the farm owners, found out they were trying out various kinds of wine so gave us each a bottle to bring back for people to sample and give their thoughts. We did it after church (it's a UU church, after all) but still had quite a lot left. Good stuff, too. About driving so far to pick blackberries, I know. Couldn't believe I was actually doing that, not after living so many years in Oregon and finding them all over the place - free. But, this is NE Oklahoma. 'nuf said. Temperature today? Same ol', same ol'. It's 98 degrees right now but the humidity has gone down a little so it doesn't feel like a solid wall of heat when I open the door.

I'm so ready for a glass of wine and sit by the fire. I'm starting to get itchy feet but still have two months to go before I head back home. Was going to stop in Las Cruces for the Rio Grande Pow Wow but apparently they've cancelled it. I NEED A TRIP!!!!!!!!

Karen, the comments on this Forum are a trip but know you're anxious to hit the road-maybe you could leave a little earlier than planned. Now, don't go tripping out on us after drinking that wine. carold

Stopped by to stoke the fire and to do a beer count... Am doing a little RV cleaning today and needed a break...So will sit and have a beer, then it's back to work...

BTW!!!! Do you know this Campfire has been going for over a year now Thanks goes out to Fernie for starting this...I believe it's the longest lasting campfire in history.... It's time to celabrate!!! As if we need an excuse to have a beer or a glass of wine.....

I think it is because there are different needs. There is the sit in someone's kitchen sort of need and then there is the stare into a campfire and listen to the sounds around you sort of time....Campfires are great to share with others and also a fine thing to contemplate by one self. Each sort of pause can refresh you, give you a chance to check in and/or check up with a friend, provide a pause to appreciate what we have, provide a chance to vent if needed,..... share beverage..... Herschel likes to come sit around the campfire with me....just in case there should be any dropping of food...he would volunteer to get up and help clean! So, yeah, thanks everybody for helping keep the campfire going, stocking it so well with wood, refreshments and providing good company and the occasional song....
