MY DAY SO FAR

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Jul 29, 2009 2:18 pm

No waterfront sites available at Silver Lake today, so stayed here and found plenty to do.

I set up the motion sensor camera----hope I catch some neat critters on film!

Then I saw ripe blueberries, so got to picking! The containers are about 2.5 cups, so I picked at least 3.5 cups. They are not half as plentiful as last year, but not too bad. I am afraid they are getting ripe to fast now, as when the stems begin to come off with the berries, it usually a sign they are finished growing, However, there are still a ton of green ones out there, if conditions will allow them to ripen. Still hard on my ribs to bend over, so didn't pick very many or too long.

Here's what the thermometer was reading in the shade!!!

And in the sun:

With this eautiful breeze, I am actualy cool sitting here in my screen room!

And my blueberries that I picked-----each container holds 2.5 cups, so I picked about 3.5 cups.

Hope everyone is having as nice a day as it is here.

Those blueberries look delicious. My farm stand bought ones, which I thought looked great ,just don't compare. DROOL, DROOL. So whatta ya gonna make with them? Pork chops sound good too. I don't have any on hand, but do have some pork country style ribs. I'll just have to break down and have a BBQ :D Now I'm drooling and hungry. Everyone have a great day. Linda

Are you serious about pickled blueberries? Never ever heard of that.
Sounds weird, but something for sure to try.
Where do you find them?

LOLOLOL - I'm an idiot! I read "picked" as pickled!!!!
Maybe I should try and pickle some, though!

No Senior Moment for you...a "put on your glasses" reminder for me!!!

Too funny! But you see how willing I am to try new things...
