Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Can't believe I'm opening Morning Coffee... :o

But anything to keep from sorting through things.

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. It was around 90 here most of the day but will only be in the 70s the rest of the week.

Martha, I loved your idea of letting the kids play with the shells. I have so many & can keep the more fragile ones separate. My grandkids, especially Olivia, are very creative. Not sure why I never thought of this, but THANKS for the idea. They will have fun & I don't have to feel like I"m just holding onto them for no good reason.

I just called St. Vincent de Paul society to pick up some of the furniture I need to eliminate. Hard to let some of the pieces go, but they are all nice & someone will get good use out of them. Plus I need to get them out of here before putting the condo on the market & most likely will have a much smaller place when I move. They're coming Thursday - hope I don't back down & cancel. Getting rid of some of the toys too. Scaling back is tough but necessary.

OK, need to take another load to the storage unit.
Have a great day!

Afternoon Catherine and all. 83° and sunny here with a nice strong breeze. Way too warm for this time of year. Supposed to gradually go down into 50’s as week progresses. Too warm to be out sun for me.

Catherine, grands will have a good time playing with shells. It’s hard parting with things, but yet change is another adventure to embrace. This was part of an article in one of our local papers. “When life prompts you to embrace change, it's a signal to accept the constant flux of existence and to view change as an opportunity for growth and adaptation. Change is inevitable, and embracing it allows you to become more flexible, resilient, and open to new experiences and possibilities.”

Not a lot going on here today. Spent time lookng over flower selections a a couple places, didn’t find what ai was looking for , although might go after some Dianthus at one place. Lookng for perennials for my flowerbed. Going to check out another place maybe tomorrow. Went to Chiropractor too as my wrist has been bothering me. All the sawing and raking and cleaning up from ice storm got it a bit out of whack and bit of carpel tunnel possibly too. Had some adjustmnts last week, but went back for another round and this time also Laser Therapy. Feeling better this afternoon. That Laser a therapy is good thing. Just a handheld laser she runs over the affected area. You feel some little pin pricks, but it gets the job done. Gets into tha deeper tissue. Then went to Mass at church for the new Pope, out for late lunch and home. Remembered to was my little Forsythia shoot. Got to baby that thing so it will grow back into a nice bush.

Anne, to answer your question about freestanding AC. I don’t have any particular suggestions because I am researching myself. I do know that the size you get depends upon how many square feet you want to cool down. Some of them went through a window which means that you could move it from any room you want or they can vent through the wall like mine will, because I already have the vent in place for the last one. I’m going to look around the big boxes here and see who’s got one and then look up the ratings in the different brands. It’s kind of a just going to have to pick one and go with it and see what happens because every waiting you read somebody says something different. This one says these are the best ones and that one says these are the best ones and so forth. They aren’t cheap either. The other option is have somebody install a through the wall air conditioner that stays there permanently. I have had my share of window air conditioners, but they’re getting too heavy for me anymore.

Barbie, glad you got the birds taken care of. Beth, sounds like you are getting the itch to travel a bit. I think I am going to do more day trips this year as I didn’t do anything last year except a couple cherry three times. So far I have not had the urge to go on an overnight, but you just never know.

Here is another idea, Catherine. I had a big jar of shark's teeth that I had saved from when my kids were little and had collected them on the shore in Florida. I had no idea what to do with them, but ended up throwing them out.

Months later I realized that what I SHOULD have done was take the jar back to a couple of beaches, and when no one was looking, I should have "salted" the beach with these for someone else to find! That would have given some kids and even adults some fun.

You can also use them for crafts, and even donate some to the school or girl scouts if you do not feel "crafty" enough. I remember in FLorida, a lady working for one of the hotels had some gigantic pine cones from California, and she let the kids glue smaller shells onto the leaves of the pine cones as a Christmas project. Then they added some spray glue and sprinkled the entire pine cones with sparkles. Maybe the school could even use them as an educational tool for learning about shells.

Catherine, I too have spent time walking beaches much to the wonder of the dogs being walked who never really understood the attraction. I admit that over the years I have sorted through and given some away but I kept some along with small pieces of drift wood. I have two large wooden bowls and both contain the memories of far flung places and beach walks. I can’t place the shells and only a few of the distinctive rocks and a few of the drift wood pieces. But I do know that they hold objects from Alaska and Mexico and the coasts of the PNW and Florida and Maine…. and probably a few other states and lakes. The bowls sometimes call out to my fingers to slow down and touch the objects and be thankful that I got to collect them. I even remember some water soaked sand pockets when I would forget to bring a bag or backpack with me……

My brother brought up a case from the basement saying there is a wedding veil in it.. I thought not mine don't remember ever seeing mom's but opened it up and a very pretty veil but under it was a dress so now I need to find a picture of them in their wedding attire... I don't know if it is her wedding dress or not..... sent my sister a text about it she didn't know anything other than it's not mine well since she eloped I kinda figured that.... I will find the pictures have seen it just recently just don't know where I put it...
Brother showed up today refilled the trailer guess this time with bulky stuff... and I went through a drawer and got rid of lots and lots of dish towels swapped out some that haven't seen the dishes for a long time and got rid of the ones being used a lot... gotten tired of them...
just been a busy day brother sent me a message saying that the garage door it's working correctly have plans of going over to dd's to take the stuff that is in the back of the car... it rattles a lot will be glad to get rid of it... not rid of it but safely at dd's house... I miss looking out and not seeing though
good luck Catharine with your downsizing and then in finding a new home...
Sounds like Sue that you are close to wanting to plant flowers has the entrance sign been put back up yet? I know that there were lots of things to repair on it and someone in the neighborhood was going to do it...
