Thursday, May 8

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, May 8

Morning all, having lovely weather here, but Paul is still too heavy to enjoy the porch. Have several loads of laundry to do. Anxious for the first Walmart delivery. Sandy, I guess it isn’t so much independence as needing a sense of accomplishment. I feel like my mind is turning to mush With no challenges. Having fried flounder and corn fritters for dinner and that will be my day.

I've been gone all day with Ginger, met with Barbie for lunch. Ha, the idea was to get my two for 1 Italian Beefs at Portillo's and my free piece of cake. We get there and their computer system is down. One of the employees was helping us decide where else to go. We picked a place he place just down the street and get there and it was closed (nothing online saying they'd be closed), so we did more looking online and found a bbq place with good ratings and third time was the charm. Full bellies and lots of conversation and we split up to head home. Ginger decided I needed my free cake so took me back to Portillo's and got that and it now sits in my fridge with two servings of bbq that also came home with me.

Shirl you're making me nervous with no update on your Walmart delivery?

Judy, I hope the prescription kicks in fast.

TY just ate his dinner and needs a walk.

lol sorry Beth thought this site had enough of Shirl’s Walmart stories. I got an email that said my delivery would arrive at 1:37. A car arrived exactly on time and a pleasant woman carried my groceries to the porch. She said they are private delivers for Walmart. It was a pleasant experience. Everything I ordered arrived in a timely manner so a pleasant experience. Thanks for all the help.

YAY Shirl, glad to see all went well. I dont order as Walmart is only about a mile from my house. And if I go there I go super early. I usually order from Krogers (Fred Meyer here) or Safeway then just drive and text I am there and they bring it out. Beth glad you managed to find somewhere to eat. Judy glad you got some prescriptions so hope they help quickly. Anne I have lots of blooms on my strawberry patch and I just fed them yesterday so hopefully I will get a good crop. I dont want one like yours ha ha I just want to pick a small basketful occasionally so we shall se how that works out. Tomato plants look good this morning but they got some growing to do. Our hot weather is just around the corner and rain on Sunday so that will be good for all the plants.

Made a chicken and rice casserole for dinner

UPDATE: I am sorry to keep complaining, but I am glad I went to urgent care in Moab. PA took a lot of time with me and agreed that a month of coughing was too much. (A week before I went to first urgent care, 16 days since then, and although cough is more normal, it is still there and sounds deep in my chest.) Plus, I am just wiped out energy-wise, and she also agreed I had thrush. Mouth is horribly dry, and stuff does not taste right. Gave me some Clotrimazole lozenges in a bottle I had to use a screwdriver on to get past the childproof cap. Also a Z dose pack since she thinks my congestion is possibly bacterial considering my lousy immune system. Anyway with over an hour in urgent care and having to go to two pharmacies to get both prescriptions, and then a 190 mile drive to this campground, I am beat and have not even eaten dinner yet at almost 10 pm.

Plus I got here at dusk and there were mosquitoes!!! I think I got a few bites while putting water into my tank, so will not go out tomorrow that late.

OK, something positive--it was a very warm and gorgeous day today in Moab and in western Colorado. Warmest and sunniest in several days. The desert got its rain a few days ago, but things still look a little wet, which is nice. Plus a lot of the bushes are in bloom, as well as some wildflowers. Might be summer soon anyway!

Going to start home-hunting when I am back in Ohio for a few days, and then in August for longer. I will look at condos, but reading all your planting stuff and walking past all the vegetable and flower plants around here, really makes me want a small house so I can have a garden. I've done things in big pots, but as you all know, they dry out too quickly.

I do have help my niece has spent a lot of time working on the basement it is really important that it gets done so that different windows can be put in so she has spent most of her time working on the basement
My sister in law called this morning and told me that she and two of her dd's are coming over tomorrow to help out (they were here last Saturday as well) so I do have help occasionally and this week I've not been as proactive as I should have been... did today go through a few things and if there is anything left after people get what they want we may consider an estate sale but what will be left would possibly be knickknacks and kitchen stuff maybe decorative wall plates and vases that all won't sell for much pretty sure that it wouldn't be worth the company to come in... my mom was into genealogy I dread going through that so much is digital and I really don't know what to do with the paper stuff...
it's good that you got your order Shirl a new thing for you to have to help you out...
It sounds like many of you will have really nice garden's our growing season is so short here that hot houses are good... but in many cases either not affordable or not enough space for one... we can grow root veggies more than other's that is why wall of water is good it's almost a hot house usually keep it on through out the growing season... I'm talking up here in Jackson in Idaho they can grow different veggies even tomatoes depending upon the elevation ... I envy you that can grow what you can enjoy the fruits of your labor
sounds like you had a good day Beth even if you didn't get your preferred sandwich
Judy safe travels glad that you got the issues looked at... did the bacteria cause the thrush?
you all have a great day

Judy, hope your new prescriptions help you.

Didn't do much today. All the rain stayed in the Gulf but we are suppose to get more tomorrow. All the bad weather we had the other day must have freaked Luna out. She doesn't want to go outside or if she does she stays on the porch. She will make a quick trip to use the bathroom but wants back in the house. The weather broke my dog.

I might have to go to town tomorrow just because I get tired of staying at home. There is a Meetup meal Saturday but I'm not going. Don't want to have to get to Lafayette at 10:00 and it's at a restaurant that is mostly just a burger place. They have a brunch menu but different offerings.
