Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TY doesn't look like he'd shed much but my vacuum quit picking up and yep, the bag was filled with his fur. Bag replaced and I'll see how long this one lasts. I need to get into the RV and clean it good but am waiting until after the guy comes tomorrow to do his thing. This afternoon I can pick up the electric bills for the meters I read and hopefully most people will be home for delivery. Any I miss I'll try in the morning, then any left go back to the office. I might go to a local storefront that I like to support as they have a food truck for dinner and music tonight. Not sure on that but it's a possible.

Afternoon Been busy with housekeeping chores this morning. Going to pick up my farm fresh eggs this afternoon. They are soooo good. And since eggs are good for you I like them in salads, sandwiches, and breakfast a few times a week. I normally have an english muffin for breakfast either with some avocado, once in a while with egg, sausage or bacon. Avocados can improve HDL cholesterol levels and the quality of LDL cholesterol. Adding two servings of avocado per week to a heart-healthy diet can lower your risk of heart disease. I usually have 3 or 4 servings per week. Then I eat salmon, another healthy food along with Yams/sweet potatoes. Hey I do what I can and just hope they are right LOL My biggest struggle is drinking enough water. I like water but only when I am thirsty LOL It is not good to drink too much water (you can lose sodium as your kidneys cannot get rid of it fast enough) but need to drink an adequate amount of fluids thru the day. So far 2 8oz cups of coffee, 1 12oz bottle of water. Hot or humid weather requires more fluids, also higher altitudes. Since I have none of that here right now I think I am good.

It will be blackened salmon and green beans for dinner. Easy to fix in my air fryer.
Judy glad you are on the mend just rest and let your body heal.
Beth I have to clean my big vacuum after every vacuuming as Emma has long hair and sheds alot. It does the deep cleaning where Henry does the topside stuff pretty much. Henry does a good job and he empties himself so I try to use him each day and then do a deep cleaning of him once a month of the brushes and filters. He lets me know when the bag in the empty bin is full so that is a plus.. Now if only he could dust ha ha

Judy, I meant to say that I'm thrilled that you went to the clinic and hope every minute you're feeling better.

On another note I just contacted Lyn again and even with changing her password and getting her unlocked, she's having trouble. If anyone is ever in her area, I know she'd love the help.

Got a good 11 hours sleep last night, waking up only twice with coughing. Coughing can still be rough and deep, but less of it, and not feeling like I am turning my lungs inside out so often. Just took my first prednisone for the day and feeling shaky, as is usual. Did some picking up and straightening out things when I got up at noon, so, at 2:30 pm, I finally ate my "breakfast" of a Tehachapi almond pastry. Watching TV and waiting for the shakiness to get better right now.

Not doing anything today, other than making some banana nut bread with some very ripe bananas, and checking the peameal "Canadian bacon" I have had brining for 7 days. Supposed to brine a boneless pork loin for 6 days, but it is flexible. (Brine is water, salt, maple syrup, pickling spices, and a bit of sodium nitrite.) No smoke flavor and needs to be cooked to test, so I will slice off a piece or two for a dinner sandwich. It should turn out slightly sweet but salty, and a little spicy. Yum.

By the way, Zion has a lot of foreign tourists who have braved the recent problems with travelers being identified as illegal aliens. I was a bit surprised, but glad to see people still coming to enjoy our beautiful country. I have noticed, however, that quite a few have miscalculated how difficult to get reservations in major national parks.

Judy, good to hear you went to urgent care & have some meds now. Hopefully each day you'll feel a little better. For now, just try to take it easy & rest.

Beth, things are pretty hectic here right now, but if things calm down a bit, I can try to get down to visit Lyn in another week or so. I have her phone number & will touch base with her. No promises of knowing how to fix her problem, but at least I'll try.

Karen, wish I liked avocados but I can't get past the texture. And you're so lucky to get farm-fresh eggs. My sister in KS has some chickens. They get quite a few eggs every day. Problem is, she doesn't like eggs. At least she keeps her neighbors supplied. Her & a couple of her grown kids really enjoy having chickens.

Sue, sounds like you are definitely getting your steps in. Walking the dogs on a road that goes around a lake sounds absolutely delightful.

I took another load of stuff to the storage unit today- can't believe I've kept all of that in my condo. It's time to give each kid their appropriate bins & go through the others & get rid of things. I'm considering driving to KS for a family reunion in August so I can take some of it back to KS in case anyone there wants some of it. If not, it'll donate it. Just not sure I'm up to a 1500 mile trip each way. The last long distance drive I made was a few years ago. My CR-V isn't as comfy as my minivan - but the mpg more than makes up for it. Maybe I'll come to love being on the road again but the traffic out here was really killed my joy of driving. Oh well, I have some time to think about it.

Good night for now.
Take care,
Catherine

I got home from my camping trip yesterday afternoon and I was tired. Holding the steering wheel for a long time makes my arm hurt and sometimes I get cramps in my hand. Most of the time when I am going to Mississippi I go another way instead of I-10. This time I decided to take I-10, big mistake. It took me three hours to go about 60 miles. There are usually traffic jams in Baton Rouge when people are going to work and going home but I was traveling in the middle of the day. When I turned North on I-55 I ran into a bad rain storm. I finally made it the Welcome center and sat out some of the rain. Our campout was at Percy Quinn State Park in McComb, MS. A couple of years ago that park had a lot of damage from a storm so was closed for a long time. They redid all the RV sites and they are all cement with full hook ups. A few of the sites might be hard to back a trailer into because it would be uphill to the site but my site was nice and flat. The park is on a lake and sure wish I could have fished. Just bing nosy, I looked up the out of state fishing license. It was $30 for 3 days. I don't think so. Saturday we went to a restaurant called the Dinner Bell. It's in a an old house and they have big round tables with a lazy suzan middle in several of the rooms. There were 13 of us so we were all at one table. They put bowls of food in the center and you help yourself as the food goes buy. There was fried chicken, BBQ ribs, fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, pickled beets, cold slaw, dumplings, cabbage, squash, fried egg plant and several kinds of dessert. My favorite was the fried egg plant. I wish I could fry egg plant like that.

I didn't do much today but wash clothes. I am leaving on Thursday for a Sisters on the Fly rally in Baton Rouge. Oh joy. At least the campground is just into Baton Rouge. Some of the women are going to the Crawfish Festival on Saturday but I will be in the lazy river.

When Luna and I got back from our walk this afternoon there was snake in the rose bed. It wasn't a copperhead, cottonmouth or rattle snake so I'm pretty sure it wasn't poisonous. One of the cats was in it's face and it didn't strike at him.

Sheila, I have or had one of those quilts that folds up into a pillow. I don't know where it is so I might have lost it in the flood. I hadn't thought about it in a long time.

I have a computer question. I have a Mac Book Air and somehow I managed to minimize the bar along the bottom that shows the different programs. Does anyone know what it is called and know how to make it larger?

another day of doing stuff and not feeling like I accomplished anything.... I only have a few days to get that room finished... brother is hoping to come tomorrow with some bins to take what's in the drawers one has some of my step father's stuff (I think he died in ...) darn can't recall but it was before 2000 not sure i it was in the 90's or 80's his jewelry box is on top of the dresser was looking in the other day found a ring that fit's (I don't have slender fingers :( ) not sure what we will do with those item's see who wants them I guess some didn't have a good relationship with him... will be getting things wrapped up for the thrift store... have a box and a bag been putting stuff in dd is getting the fancy dolls I just need to figure out where to put them I think I will take them to dd's place when I take my metal flower and flamingos and planter's hopefully they will fit and dd will have a spot for them till her sister can pick them up... and have to clean off the top of the bookcase that sil will be taking (her husband built it) I'm hoping that they will take the books as well either to libraries or to thrift store. I know that there is one book I want had one lost it before I got it read... there are a couple of the figurines that I think I want some I gave to mom one that I've been eyeing for years it's really pretty ... most of them on that case are of hummingbirds...
went to the store I don't understand those who fill the bags... I am fortunate that they will do so so haven't complained but am going to here... they fill them sooooo fullll I had two visible bags and a couple in my purse.... one bag had every thing but the bananas... why here I am sitting on an electric cart with oxygen and they make them so heavy... oh well vent over... got them into the house took the lemon's out and thought I thought I had more the bag had tipped over so when niece came over I asked her to look and see if there was a stray lemon hiding behind the seat...there was...
I started watching a 'reel' the other day using the cream cheese pie filling (no bake) used that plus cherry pie filling and cool whip but she substituted whip cream and some how I swiped it away I think I can go from what I saw it sounded good just not sure how much of the no bake filling to use can't think it was all of it only one pie shell ...
glad you are feeling a bit better Judy but don't over do it might be easy to do...
you had good advice Karen I know that I never drink enough ever and I even like water and have sparkling water here as well and I still don't drink enough
It's surprising how much the dog's in our lives can shed... Do you have a lot of homes you need to deliver notice of electric use to Beth?
you all have a good night

Sheila when I make that pie with the no bake cream cheese I dont put too much on. I use an icecream scoop. The first time I made it I put way too much on and it was way too sweet. So this time I put about 5 medium scoops then used my spatula to spread it all around. Doesnt matter if you get some of the cherry juice incorporated. Then put the whipping cream or cool whip on top and put in the fridge for a while. I am making a blackberry one later this week.
