Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morni png on this cloudy, chilly 39° morning. Bit of a cool down today. Had rain past two nights, but high in low 60’s.

Been busy here these past few days. Helping neighbors clean up from ice storm. One is a widow with a yard full of debris. She’s only around 60 but husband was killed in tragic accident. No one to help her except brother, but he works during the day and helps her when he can. Found out that all the pine limbs and branches piled around the house, actually trapped her in the duration of the storm. She was terrified she said. Spent the time sitting g in the hallway listening to stuff dropping all around the house. At least she has a generator and her poor dog couldn’t get out to her area either. . National Guard buddy of her husband happened to call and check in her and came over and cleared debris so she could get out. She and I spent a whole day working in the yard with some help from neighbor lady next door for awhile. Needless to say, my saw got a workout as did my tractor. There is a logging/tree service company working in the neighborhood here, doing several neighbors and she talked with them about doing her property as well. So They said to just pile the brash where we were working and not bother hauling up near the road. Made things much easier. My snowbird neighbors who were making the long driving days, got home on Tuesday afternoon and he promptly stole my lawn tractor and cart the next morning  and got to work. I helped him for awhile in the afternoon as his wife had to go to town. Was pretty much cleaned up by afternoon. And the tree service came and got my piles chipped up, and the dead part of a tree cut up and gone. And got their mess chipped up as well. Not same tree service that’s working around the road here. Lical ine who will be cutting tress for both neighbors by me here.

Been fascinating watching the big logging/tree service company working. These are the big guys, the professionals, with millions of dollars in equipment. Doing 6 places and taking down some huge damaged trees. I’ll post some pics later on. But these logs give you some idea of the sizeare working with.

O’Sharon, I think it’s safe to put the snow shovel away. Thry say this was the last snow for us this season. Colder for a couple days and then seasonal from here out. Glad you got the new fridge in the door. Like Beth said, probably lots of silent cussing. Beth, residential fridges aren’t made for RV’s. I think it’s because of the movement and bouncing around that RV’s do, but you aren’t moving. That wasn’t nice of thrm to abruptly raise rates like that. They keep that up they are going to find people disappearing, including you. And speaking of rates, I was happy to see Spectrum giving out credit for lost service during the ice storm. My bill was only $35 this month :D Think we are getting same from electric company.

Barbie, since you had a donut and chocolate milk before your hike, you probably had a drop in sugar levels. You were on a sugar high when you started. Carry some snacks like a protein bar or something along with water. Don’t bulk up in sugary stuff and nothing else. Carbs are better.

I’m thinking gardening too, but Memorial Day is rule of the thumb too. They are playing the flower game in the big box stores right now. They get all these crazy plants in this time of year and it’s too cold for them to be sitting out there. So they wind up having to stay inside the store isles. People are not going to buy that stuff right now because I can’t plant them anyway. Some of the hardier stuff like pansies, geraniums etc. can handle colder weather, and you can plant trees, but nobody bothers much with flowers now. Heck the tulips and the daffodils aren’t even up yet.

Morning Sue and All, think spring/ summer is here, 85° for a high today and pollen heavy. Would like to open windows but guess not.. Sue, Ionly experience one ice storm not as severe as yours but know what it feels like to hear your tree limbs snapping. So glad to hear the lone woman had help, “woman power” lol Beth, rate raising without notice seems to be the norm in that area. Do you have to sign a contract without knowing the next years rates? Big family dinner on Sunday, all diet food, not. lol. I’m,like a kid waiting for a piece of Samba Club Coconut cake. Be safe

Is SW Ohio the saying standard used to be, don't plant until after Mother's Day. I suppose if you had easily covered beds that you could protect some may play around with those "rules". I wouldn't know not being a planter for years. If it is in the yard, I might be expected to maintain it and for the past 20 years I would rather have the freedom of taking off for dog shows and traveling. That may change some day but not yet because now my body doesn't want to use the limited mobility in the day for plants. The dogs still claim first in line.

Thomas, the last puppy finally found a family that wants him and has not back out. I will be driving him up to the Columbus area to meet his people who live in PA outside Philadelphia who are attending a conference next week. The story of his Thomas's journey to find a home has been long and convoluted but he has made it and philosophically we waded through the detours so that he could make it to this family. He has benefited from hanging around here for the extra weeks. He is crate trained, rides in a crate in carrs without complaints, visits stores and loves greeting everyone and walks well on a leash....even if not entirely in a straight line.

And yes we got a new refrigerator here too! (Thank you puppy funds.) Also after 20 years. I am enjoying having ice cues again. Our frig sits in an area of the kitchen by itself so no problem with any cabinetry but I had to clear off the front porch (where the Hornbeck sits up on a frame) and sweep out all the fall leaves and winter detritus. Can you guess that I do not use my front door for egress. The delivery men had to take the door off its hinges. Apparently it was a production but I was at the Y at my Yoga class so I missed it. I did help empty the old (and threw away all suspicious containers and products) before I left. And I got to reload it when I got back home. I am happy.

My rig is repaired, has a new radio with Bluetooth and a CD player that works. Remember that my Roadtrek is officially 24 years old and still running on the original radio. I didn't bother paying for a backup camera. I am only 19 feet long now. I can use my mirrors well enough. And driving down the highway I can see out the back window as long as I remember to tie the curtains up before I pull out. Now all I need to do is make some decisions of where Lark and I want to go and who to go see. I did sign up to attend Linda's Iowa GTG in June. But I am also getting an MRI of my spine on Friday the 25th. Those results and discussions with my PC provider and my Spine doctor might change my plans. Exercises and work at the Y can maintain a lot of flexibility and strength but it is becoming more and more apparent that it can not repair deteriorating spines. (And No, Sue, chiropractic adjustments don't "fix" everything in aging bodies. Neither does acupuncture for that matter, though it at least helped some issues. You are a among the lucky ones.)

And now that I have some travel funds and I look around for places to go, I am so thankful for the past 15-20 years that I was able to travel as much as I could and physically go places and explore in the ways I did. I am particularly thankful for Liz's joining up for our exploration of Ireland. The group offered to packages "Vagabond" or "Driftwood" We went on the one for active folks and hiked and kayaked and went horseback riding and climbing and exploring castles and small towns on foot. Now sadly I realise I would be in that other group with the "driftwood" folks. It is why I went to Scotland by myself, I could walk and stop when ever I needed to, on my own schedule. I can still do that if I can get my spine to allow me to keep walking. Kerry Liliedahl is my current hero. Still make memories and adventures while packing her Rollator on the airplane.

ANd when in doubt Barbie, as Karen and others have commented over the years. Google and U-tube can be helpful for our 1st world problems. Once you give up on thinking that everything has one and only one answer life can be much more relaxing. For many questions the answer is : It depends. And I have been wrong enough times in my life that I have given up putting too much energy in some decisions. Sorry if I sound crabby but I have gotten tired of reading the newby's posts on Facebook on some of the solo Roadtrek sites. Years ago most of the new women that posted on this forum had some idea of what they wanted. They had completed some initial research and asked good questions. For years I have noticed that there are FB users that want others to think for them or they just think: "I'll throw this open ended, overly broad question out there and see what responses it can gather." My favorites are things like: I am traveling west to San Deigo from Kentucky, where should I stay and what should I not miss. "It depends."

Good morning. Glad to see you all. I am so glad Thomas has found his furever home. He is beautiful. Puppies are alot of work so Tina maybe you get a breather now. My friend Trish still trying to find homes for the last 2. One could be a show boy and the other a pet home. She is picky who her pups go to also. I would love to have one but that is not meant to be. Emma is so well behaved and knows the house rules I just am happy with one dog. I can pretty much take one dog anywhere to visit and not a problem. But those puppies are so damn cute!!!!

Sue that is very kind of you to help out the neighbors. We just never know when we need to be on the receiving end of help. That was a huge mess and I know it is still in the cleaning up process. They are still cleaning up here from the flood, lots of water and mud damage. I am glad I am high and dry. Only real threat here is plane crashing into my house. So far so good.

Beth unfortunate that they have raised the rent since not telling anyone until last minute. Hope you are having a good trip back to Benson.

Have had some breakfast and now dressed to tackle the world LOL We are only going to be 64 today and cloudy with sun breaks. I am going to wash my car when it warms up a little bit more. Throw a load of laundry in, Food saver my hamburger I just bought and then call it a day.
Tomorrow I am going to have Easter dinner with Steve (my handyman) and Ann. Her son Chris and his wife are coming so she really wanted me to come. My next door neighbor Mary wanted me to come to her house but her hubby just had shoulder replacement surgery Friday and all her family will be there, so nope. I would just as soon stay home but appreciative of the invites.

Good afternoon gals!

Laying on my bed enjoying the cool fresh air blowing thru the windows. Only 63* for today. I talked to Julie earlier and I guess we got the rain overnight but I slept thru it. Clear blue skies now with a cool breeze.

Have a small list of things to do today. I will have tomorrow to do stuff too, since Julie didn't say anything about Easter tomorrow. If I go to WM today, I might pick up a slice of ham to fry up tomorrow. Will see...

I got a small package delivered yesterday (according to Amazon) while I was out and it is no where to be found. Probably blew away in the wind (I had one do that this morning but I found it under my trailer). Will see if anyone here finds it and brings it back to me. My next door neighbors work at the front desk and mail room so will see if anyone turned it in there. I need to get a big plastic bin to put out front for delivery people to put my smaller packages in, so they don't blow away or get wet.

Need to dump my tanks today too. Maybe even get to my headlight project since it is nice out. I would like to get that done before my trip so I can see better if I am driving at night. Then get the Jeep washed too. It hasn't had a bath since I left California!

I better get moving here... have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I'm having trouble slowing down as much as I'm needing to. But yesterday was new to me. I saw people at my eye doctors office Thursday and already have an appt for when I return in the fall. They (and I) aren't seeing the improvements that were expected. But they believe they are happening slowly, so while they wanted to see me in 3 or 4 months agreed to hold off. I almost turned around yesterday. I planned long driving days for yesterday and today. My eyes were weird but I managed the long day, talked to my eye doctors and it turns out they think my weird vision was leftover from the drops they used Thursday morning. Not normal, but it is a possible side effect. This morning I changed my reservations to add a day and not have any more really long days. So, of course, the weird effects are gone lol. I'm very happy for that and still glad to not drive as far. Of course it meant I arrived at my new stop today earlier than I could check in. I had noticed a car wash so went back and my car thanks me. I found something I was interested in watching on TV after I checked in but for the life of me couldn't get closed captions to work so gave up on that. Wasn't worth calling the desk.

Sue, I wish I had half as much energy as you have.

I loaded the mower and went and mowed in Maurice. I had to mow high and then low because the grass was so tall. When I got home I mowed the yard too. The wind was blowing so hard it blew dirt and grass all over me. When I got through I looked like Pigpen. I had to take a shower and wash my hair. It looked like it was going to rain all day but never did. Now the weather is saying the rain won't get here until Monday but I'm glad I got the mowing done.

Sue, I'm sure your neighbors were happy to have your help. It is heartbreaking to lose so many big trees.

Beth, hope you don't have anymore eye problems.

Tina, glad Thomas found his home. He has such a sweet face I just want to kiss it. No puppies for me. I worry about Luna outliving me. Thank goodness Harold thought to request a handicap house when we ordered this house. Most of the doors are extra wide so no problem getting things in. I know what you mean about some of the questions women ask on Facebook. One lady said she is retiring in 4 or 5 years so she wants to buy a motorhome now so it will be paid for. Hello, It will also be sitting around for 5 years and be 5 years old. Unless you are planing on camping now put the money you would be paying in a savings account.

Shirl, you reminded me that I didn't get a Coconut cake. If I go to Lafayette I might see if Sam's has one and I can take it camping so I don't eat it all. I could have picked up something to cook tomorrow when I went through town but didn't. I'll find something in the freezer.
