Been busy here these past few days. Helping neighbors clean up from ice storm. One is a widow with a yard full of debris. She’s only around 60 but husband was killed in tragic accident. No one to help her except brother, but he works during the day and helps her when he can. Found out that all the pine limbs and branches piled around the house, actually trapped her in the duration of the storm. She was terrified she said. Spent the time sitting g in the hallway listening to stuff dropping all around the house. At least she has a generator and her poor dog couldn’t get out to her area either. . National Guard buddy of her husband happened to call and check in her and came over and cleared debris so she could get out. She and I spent a whole day working in the yard with some help from neighbor lady next door for awhile. Needless to say, my saw got a workout as did my tractor. There is a logging/tree service company working in the neighborhood here, doing several neighbors and she talked with them about doing her property as well. So They said to just pile the brash where we were working and not bother hauling up near the road. Made things much easier. My snowbird neighbors who were making the long driving days, got home on Tuesday afternoon and he promptly stole my lawn tractor and cart the next morning

Been fascinating watching the big logging/tree service company working. These are the big guys, the professionals, with millions of dollars in equipment. Doing 6 places and taking down some huge damaged trees. I’ll post some pics later on. But these logs give you some idea of the sizeare working with.

O’Sharon, I think it’s safe to put the snow shovel away. Thry say this was the last snow for us this season. Colder for a couple days and then seasonal from here out. Glad you got the new fridge in the door. Like Beth said, probably lots of silent cussing. Beth, residential fridges aren’t made for RV’s. I think it’s because of the movement and bouncing around that RV’s do, but you aren’t moving. That wasn’t nice of thrm to abruptly raise rates like that. They keep that up they are going to find people disappearing, including you. And speaking of rates, I was happy to see Spectrum giving out credit for lost service during the ice storm. My bill was only $35 this month

Barbie, since you had a donut and chocolate milk before your hike, you probably had a drop in sugar levels. You were on a sugar high when you started. Carry some snacks like a protein bar or something along with water. Don’t bulk up in sugary stuff and nothing else. Carbs are better.
I’m thinking gardening too, but Memorial Day is rule of the thumb too. They are playing the flower game in the big box stores right now. They get all these crazy plants in this time of year and it’s too cold for them to be sitting out there. So they wind up having to stay inside the store isles. People are not going to buy that stuff right now because I can’t plant them anyway. Some of the hardier stuff like pansies, geraniums etc. can handle colder weather, and you can plant trees, but nobody bothers much with flowers now. Heck the tulips and the daffodils aren’t even up yet.
