Good morning gals.

Well, my plans for yesterday took a sudden turn. Just as I was really getting into organizing stuff in the trailer yesterday morning, Julie called and invited me to go with them and Ray for a drive and later dinner for David's birthday. So I had to drop what I was doing (I had even cancelled camp, to get my trailer finished), and got cleaned up and headed over to their house at noon. We went down to an Indian reservation to see an Indian art store. It was very interesting but also very expensive but all things were made on different reservations around the state, and some very old items like moccasins and tools. From there, we drove thru Saguaro NP. Julie is a lot like my dad in that she just drives thru places and never actually stops. Ray and I are big on taking photos and I had to ask her to stop a couple times so we could get out and take pics. She took the same route I want to take my friend thru next week, so I got to see where I want to stop there to take more photos and do some hiking, so that was helpful. Later we went out to dinner to a nice restaurant at a golf resort. Beautiful view over the valley! At sunset, I went out on the patio to take a photo...

I went to bed at 9:30 and got a good night's sleep. Need to get started again on finishing up in here. My other brother, Paul and his wife are in town now for 4 days, and they want to see my trailer so I need to have it look nice.

Have a good day, and stay safe if you are in the path of the next storm!

Oh, for Anne's weather report: It is partly cloudy with highs in the mid 80's and lows in the mid 50's.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Thanks, Barbie!

Cold and windy here today, but I know those warm temps are coming soon.

Good afternoon. Chilly morning and now only 40° they are still hollering about snow tomorrow here LOL I am enjoying watching all the pictures from Talent where I used to live. They are still getting snow. I only remember one "major" snow event in the 15 years I lived there. We used to get some snow but in 2017 we got 8" it lasted for over a week as the temps were so cold. Everything became a huge block of ice.
The official snow measurement for Medford was 6.3" at the airport yesterday 2nd biggest snowfall since 2017 when we got 8.3 inches! Record #1 is 11 inches in 1919
Needless to say the Siskiyou's are closed right now as it is still snowing. I know you people that get snow all the time this is no biggee, but for us it is. Snow is an occasional occurence on the valley floors. The mountains all around us are well prepared and get plenty of snow. At least we do have snowplows and sanding trucks but not alot of em. They do the major roads other than that your on your own.
They were also without electricity and some still are due to the heavy wet snow causing tree branches and lines to come down. Talked to my friend down there this morning and she said it was coming down with big flakes at 10am this morning. She got electricity about 10pm last night. Also had trouble getting into her driveway last night, the neighbor came over to help her as she only has 2WD SUV, he got the snow away and she had him drive her car into the carport. Said she is parked now!!!!! She was only over at the neighbors for cards a few houses away. ha ha I told her I was very happy here in my "banana belt".

Getting ready to fix the dog's dinner and kick back

It got up to 83 today and sunny. I got the wagon load of rose limbs in the burn cage but didn't get the last rose bush pruned. This morning I picked up one of the kittens and he had a wet spot on his side. I started looking and he had a sore that was infected and draining. I called the vet and brought him this afternoon. The vet wanted to sedate him so he could get a good look at the sore so I left him.

I had a cattle women meeting tonight. That's a good club to belong to because they usually feed us. We had roast, rice and gravy, corn, potato stew and two kinds of dessert. When I headed home it was starting to get foggy. I hadn't seen my big black cat Inky for two days and he was here when I got home. I tried to pet him and there is a big wet spot on his neck. I got a flashlight and he has a sore that looks like what the kitten has. Another cat to the vet tomorrow. I will have to cancel my camping reservations to deal with sick cats.

my granddaughter came into the house wearing shorts and a crop top... commented on it she said it's almost 70 outside right now it's 53 if the mountains get the snow people are happy as it feeds the lakes and reservoirs makes the skiers happy ect snow in the valley just melts and going into the Great Salt Lake which does no one any good other than the lake is getting low enough that it is a real concern...
actually stained the box today looks good tomorrow I will varnish it...
and yes Mod Podge is correct I actually came up with it just before I went to sleep then lost it again so was really glad to see it here... now to just remember it... it's going to be touch and go if I get it done in time... we will hope it's just if I remember correctly and I actually hope I'm not that there is a 12 hour drying time between varnish coats and it will really need two... so we will see just read the directions whew two hours much better!!! but it does recommend 3 coats...
my dd has parent teacher conferences this week starting tomorrow I think it's just two nights.. but it will mean that I can work on it a bit later in the evening
made the butter chicken tonight it was so good think I will post the recipe I think it wouldn't be hard to half the recipe
enjoy you visit with your brothers Barbie been awhile since you all have been together
you all have a great day

It is really late for me to be just getting into bed!

Got a text today from my MN SIL saying they want to come over tomorrow afternoon to see my place. I am a little nervous since I haven't had any contact with my MN brother for 7 years, since we had the falling out about the wedding I didn't go to.

I worked all day today going thru bins and boxes and sorting/organizing and consolidating stuff. Finally got everything either tossed out, going back to the storage unit, stored in the bunk room, or put away in the proper place in here. Tomorrow, I just need to do a little cleaning and get things straightened up. I found 4 different bins full of puck lights! I was able to get them all in one larger bin. I will find new homes for some of them later on. I do like having them tho. Saves on electricity, and the motion sensor ones are great in cabinets and over the litter box. I discovered my little stick vacuum cleaner is toast so that is going in the trash. Will have to get another small one. I don't have much carpet in here, mostly just in the slide area, but I do have an area rug for the main room (which I just remembered a few minutes ago that it is still in the box it came in and needs to be put on the floor now that there is space for it.)

Need to make a WM run tomorrow but will wait until after my company leaves. I guess on Thursday we are all driving down to Tubac for the day. That is a little town south of Tucson that has become an artist town with lots of shops. Julie and David took me down there when I came out to visit them last spring. It is a fun place to go. Altho, there is an art festival going on there now so it will be really crowded.

OK, enough rambling. Gotta get to sleep here! Cats are chasing each other around so hopefully they are wearing themselves out and will sleep soon too!
