Thursday, November 7th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, November 7th

Good Morning. Bit of fog out here this morning. Mostly just from the lake and the bog behind my house. Lake waters are warmer than the air. I live down in a small valley and if you go up the hill to I-75, it looks like a big fluffy white cloud down here from all the lakes, there are 5, steaming. Temp is 33°.

Guess we were all wore out from post election fatigue yesterday. The last few months have been an emotional rollercoaster for everybody whether we realized it or not. I’m glad it’s over.

Happy Birthday, Beth. I don’t celebrate them much either. Though on special ones I will treat myself to dinner and dessert someplace.

Irmi, hopefully you will get the power washing done pretty quick with the new power washer. Karen, glad you had fun with your Bunco bunch. Only excitement around here is the sign project. Been having a marathon session with it these past few days. Today is final go over of trees and lettering to see if any touchups are needed, all wood filler spots sanded and primed and then start applying the first coat of white paint to the sections. That’s the time consuming part of this project, waiting for paint, wood filler, primer etc. to dry so I can continue on. But the end is in sight. Applied one final coat of paint to the frame yesterday too.

So guess I will get moving here, wash up, get out of Jammie’s and get started. Have a nice day everyone.

11:35 and no word today. There's not a lot left to do but some of the harder cuts which he doesn't have trouble with but I do. That said I'm so tired of waiting. I intended to get myself a birthday sub from Jersey Mikes yesterday, then today. Ha maybe tomorrow???

Good morning gals,

Happy belated birthday Beth! Is your worker Hispanic? They tend to do things "whenever" and "eventually". But they usually do good work.

Weather here has been chilly in the mornings but perfect during the daytime. Last Sunday it was cold and rained all day, with a thunderstorm in the evening, including some hail. But we needed the rain. The top of Mt Lemon behind me, got some snow as well. It is 9000 ft and there is a ski resort up there for winter fun. I need to drive up there before it gets too cold and snowy. I guess it is beautiful up there.

Camp is going good and I am feeling so much better mentally and emotionally! I have 3 more weeks to go and then will cut down to once or twice a week after that. It has really changed my perspective and outlook on things.

Got my Roku TV kind of figured out now. Finding the free apps for now and will decide on which ones I want to pay for, later. I am very happy with this TV so far. The picture and sound are perfect! So crisp and clear!

The other day, I went to a place called Picture Rocks, just along the mountains a few miles south of where Julie and David live on the northwest side of Tucson. There is a huge pile of rocks that have ancient petroglyphs on them. I had to zoom in on my camera to take photos and then check the photos afterward to see what showed up, since there is no climbing allowed on the rocks and most of the petroglyphs are high up. But found several animals that were carved into the rock. The surrounding area tho was stunning! It is very close to Saguaro Nat'l Park so there are a ton of Saguaros all over around and on the mountains. So I took a lot of photos of those. I love how green the desert and mountains are all around here. Tons of vegetation growing all over.

Went to the dentist after that and they are much more reasonable than where I went in CA! So that made me happy. I will be able to get all my work done (4 crowns and a few fillings, and a cleaning (free with insurance) all for less than $6K. So that is less than half of what I was quoted at the CA place! Plus, this dentist is really good looking!!

I go to Julie and Davids' house about once a week and we have dinner there or go out somewhere. We are going to a Japanese Garden in Tucson on Saturday evening for a floating lantern ceremony, so that should be fun!

Cats are doing well. I can't get over how affectionate Romeow has gotten. He is a total lap cat and sleeps right next to me at night and enjoys my hugs and cuddling now. :D Such a change from before we moved here!

Nothing planned for today. Just get a few things done around here I guess, and read some. I am way behind on reading books, etc. I also want to get back to doing some of my gourd art. I want to start practicing the wood burning. I can do that outside now, with the nice weather. Also want to go up the road to Sabino Canyon Recreational Park to do some hiking. No excuse since it is so close and I now have a Golden Pass, which they accept, to get in free. So I have lots of options of things to do!

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, he's Native American. He's got problems and I like helping him but it's frustrating. He got here has maybe 15 minutes to go but had to leave, rushed too much because of having to be elsewhere and I'm hoping he can fix what he slightly overcut. He says he'll be back this afternoon to fix and finish the last little bits. Fingers crossed. And you are discovering why I love that area and where my casita is so much. The desert isn't the same everywhere and is at it's best IMO in southeastern Arizona. Many many things for you to see and do and still some I haven't done! Enjoy them all. And going up to Mt. Lemmon is awesome all times of the year. Watch the weather as the road gets closed sometimes.

Sue, I think election fatigue is a good description of how I felt yesterday. I'm afraid our rollercoaster ride isn't over yet.

Irmi, when you get through with power washing your driveway you can come do my house. lol There is a power washer here that I have never tried to use and don't know how. It probably won't work. I know years ago when my husband would get one it wouldn't work for very long.

Happy belated birthday Beth. The guy doing your carpet sounds like the guy that fixed my toilet. I put a big X on his card and put it on the refrigerator so I would remember to never call him again.

Barbie, glad your camp is making you feel better. I keep putting off getting a Roku TV. I hate to mess with the TV in my office because I know how to change it to local channels when Direct goes out with bad weather. I had to get a sound bar for the TV in the living room and I was thinking it might be going out and I would have to replace it. Romeow is probably so affectionate now because of all the moving he's afraid you might leave him. The lady's cat that I took in tries to be a bully. She will try to corner one of my cats and just sit a stare at it. Most will just ignore her but CC is afraid of her. He is kind of getting over it. He was afraid of the dog for a long time and now he tries to rub on her. Luna thinks she is the cat fight referee. If two start something Luna will get between them. Nothing like living on the funny farm. lol

Yesterday I made a cake from a recipe on Facebook. You mix the cake batter and put a can of apple pie filling on top and bake. The cake rises up around the apples. It was ok but I wouldn't make it again. I think it would be better with cherry pie filling. I took most of it to my meeting last night. It was getting fogy on my way home and I don't think I see as well as I use to at night. I have my annual appointment with my eye doctor next Wednesday. I probably should call and check on it because I usually start getting texts from them two weeks out reminding me and I haven't received one yet.

We had pizza from a local restaurant at our meeting last night and it was really good. I should get one to put in the freezer. I keep trying different frozen pizzas and they are not very good.

They don't have a very good handle on which way the hurricane is going. It could be going West and then South but it could also go North. I'm glad I didn't make a reservation for the campout this weekend. We have rain predicted for the next week and we wouldn't have a room or a covered area to meet in.

I also have had election fatigue last couple of days, but at least the texts asking for money have stopped. I also have had a headache at times last few days, and had problems getting my wrist blood pressure cuff working right. Finally, took batteries out and re-programed the whole thing, and it now works!

Other issue, besides Camping World changing my oil, and then claiming I needed a new roof for at least $8,000! I had it checked recently and it has never leaked, but CW said it was going to start leaking soon!!! SCAM, SCAM. SCAM!!!!! I am also upset that the service guy went up on the roof and walked around. I know you are supposed to be able to get onto roofs, but my RV is getting older and I do not want someone to cause damage up there. I guess I am going to have to paint or get a sticker that says not to go onto it without my permission. And the photos he showed me the supposed damage to the roof corners, really did not even look like my roof. Will have son check it and take photos when I am there.

I have a list of stuff I need my son to do for me. I can do a lot of things, but my left shoulder is often so sore that I am one-handed, plus it is very painful to try to lift that arm above my head. But today, I at least fixed my 30 amp plug. The plug itself was fine, but twice, the cord kept slipping out, even though I always pull on the plug, never on the cord itself. The wires were still attached, but the part without the black covering was showing. IN other words, the colored wires were showing, which I did not like. Opened it up twice and reattached everything, but it still kept pulling out. Bought a $24.95 replacement from CW, but started to think that maybe I could just use some electrical or other tape to keep it from pulling out. Anyway, I opened it up and neutral wire was loose. Had a horrible time reattaching it, but finally did it and screwed everything down, then used electrical tape to wrap around black cord and plug several times, typing them together. Also used some strips from cord to run up and down and then wrapped it around several times, so I cannot imagine the cord pulling loose again. I will see how it holds and may end up returning the replacement one I bought.

Nice day today--actual sun all day, and NO RAIN, for a change. Also high of 65, which felt really nice! SUpposed to be equally nice tomorrow.

Judy, I have only gone to Camping World twice to get something fixed and both times they wanted to do something else. I would have to be desperate before I would ever want them to fix something. I sure wouldn't want them doing anything to my motor. I know it's hard to find any place that will service or work on motorhome engines. I'm lucky that I have history with a independent repair shop. Someone told me that places that work on bigger trucks should work on motorhomes. I haven't checked into that.

The mosquitoes are really bad again. I had some get in last night and I was fighting them for a couple of hours. I don't know how much mosquitoes bother cats but I don't have much trouble getting them to come in at dark.

I haven't done it yet but I need to make a list of stuff I need to do so I can check off some stuff that I did today
we did have fish from the fish truck it was so good... should have taken time to warm it up a bit and would have been better but so enjoyed it...
need to go to the bank and store tomorrow I need to find out what day the kids are going to come
I googled heated welcome mats ... outdoor.... been undated with ads for this company that I actually clicked on for information even the ads on my coloring pages have been of that company FB and the weather thing on phone... ugh I sent a text to my son in law about what he used but he hasn't gotten back with me so guess if I remember tomorrow night I need to call him
Martha there are lots of those recipes think Karen makes one I made one that took 3 eggs cake mix and can of fruit pie mix I either over baked it or the cake mix was the culprit as to me it was dry but I did get another can of pie filling and cake mix different brand :o the first one was cherry this one is apple with a spice mix hopefully I will set the timer this time...
one more row on my afghan could have finished it tonight but my phone was charged and I wanted to color....
I've finally figured out the system... what new movie is out tonight on hallmark mystery's will reappear next week at the time when I can see the whole movie...
Beth like the floors I am sorry that the worker is on his own time line....
Barbie it sounds like you are getting used to the area and doing stuff that you feel makes you feel better...
I think a second opinion would be in order Judy in this case a drone would be nice you could scan the roof yourself ... surely when you were at the factory having work done last summer wasn't it they would have given you a heads up
Irmi hope you were able to get your power washing done...
Sue is the sign taking more time than you expected?
you all have a great day
