Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, October 30

Good Morning from the balmy 45th. Never dropped below mid 60’s last night of a record high of 76 yesterday. Course with the sun lower in tbe sky, not same kind of hot weather as mid summer. Warm, but comfortable and takes most of the day to get to that point and starts coloring off not long after. Rain and cold front heading in tonight and tomorrow. Back to 40’s, low 50s by Friday. Really windy, especially today.

Finished up leaves yesterday. There will always be some blowing around with the wind and a few left on one tree. I’m putting my lawn tractor away for the winter today, but first will go down and blow off the walking path. Then will give it a bath and away it goes. Battery to basement. I can putts around with leaves if I feel like it with leaf blower later. If not, they will be there in spring. Decided to put my fall decorations away today too,I as they are dry at the moment. Was going to do that Friday, but with rain and colder temps coming in, one day isn’t going to matter one way or other. Did final check over of the frame for the sign out front. Have it covered with tarp till neighbor is ready to reinstall it, whenever that will be. Am working on the sign in the evenings. Coming along slow but sure.

Talking about Chicken fried steak. We used to have it periodically along with milk gravy. You don’t need bacon grease to fry it in. Vegetable shortening works just as good. Shelia, here’s a slow cooker Swiss Steak recipe I use that’s easy to do and is really good. Don’t need to use baby carrots, regular ones work just fine or your own veggies or none at all.

Martha, I hear ya on mowing up a dust storm. It’s pretty much my story too.
Time to get moving here and get my day’s chores done. Have a nice day all.

38 this morning and high will only be 53 so Fall is definitely here. Rain showers again today and for the rest of the week. Snow in the Cascades. Rain here and we need it so that is a good thing. Managed to get the rest of my garden cleaned up. Now have a big pile of foliage that my neighbor will come get and take to the dump for me. Won't do any soil amendment until spring. Still have pots with some annuals in them that I need to remove but have lots of time for that. Car still needs a wash LOL but rain is here so guess it isnt that important. I just like to get the road grime off of it.

Going to make a breakfast biscuit casserole this morning so will give some to my neighbor that is going to take my trash. Looks like such an easy casserole but I forgot to take out the pound of sausage from the freezer so need to wait a bit for it to thaw some. I love the idea of using the biscuits for the base because as the casserole cooks the biscuits rise to the top for a topping which amazes me. First time trying this recipe so we will see if it works the same for me ha ha
I love trying new recipes if they dont have too many ingredients in them. This one will have eggs, mushrooms, spinach, cheese, sausage and biscuits. You can actually put anything you want in it so they say so I am ha ha
Pork steak and roasted veggies for dinner. Another easy peasy meal.

Nothing much else on my agenda for now

Sue and Karen, you have both made me very hungry. Both recipes sound great. I love simple.

The guy who helped with my fridge was coming over to help me do the floor today but I canceled. I didn't sleep well and simply want to have it all planned out then the two of us should be able to do it quickly. I don't see anything being done quickly today. Tomorrow is out because they are calling for rain and we have to move the couch outside. Maybe Friday. I did dump my tanks. I think I have a smaller grey tank but it could just be I'm using more water. I got used to the casita and not paying attn lol But I do think this has smaller tanks. No biggie.

Ate an early lunch/late breakfast this morning. Have a cat scan at 3:40 pm so no food for four hours before. Normally, i putt around in the morning, but this morning, had to stop doing stuff like changing my bed and sit down and eat a substantial meal to last me until a late dinner. It is the usual cold and rainy here, and the place where I am going to get the cat scan is in a downtown area with no parking, plus I might get home after dark, so calling an Uber both ways.

Yesterday, coming from the ocean, I tried to find a Chase bank and got there and found out it was in the downtown area with no parking also, so managed to head past and find another bank on the outskirts. Situations like that are the only times I really miss having a car. But i did get my banking done and then stopped at a Walgreens to pick up a prescription. Just barely made it to campground before dark, and got hooked up.

Anyway, got to finish making clean bed and getting clothes ready for laundry tomorrow. Hanging around here for a few days and then finding another place to stay, and finally back here for my pulmonary tests in November. Whew. Got some inside tasks to do, like finishing editing my biography that I am going to get printed and put in covers for my grandkids. Then got to start making notes for my old family movies so my kids and grandkids will know who those strange people were back in the 50s.

I've had my ballet here for days just kept putting it off then it dawned on me if I delay much longer it might not make it... so filled it out then put on flip flops and drove to the post office and dropped off the ballet came back and read scriptures then got up and made soup for the soup supper ... must have liked it it was all gone... mom did go seemed to enjoy herself...
the soups I had were very tasty... my friend that sat next to me had the same soup but mentioned that it was spicier than she usually liked... so when I got another soup still not sure what it was thinking potato but it was good so was asked if it was spicy let her take a spoonful it too was spicier than she was used to I tasted more pepper than would expect perhaps it had white pepper in it.... as I don't remember seeing black specks ... I think when I invite her to supper it won't be for butter chicken  I'll just have to plan a meal that doesn't have much heat...
Both of those recipes sounded good... Karen you will have to give us a report back on it might be something that I might try especially if I can down size it... what you mentioned sounded good...
I think there are days when you need a down day Beth hopefully you enjoyed your unintended one... when one doesn't sleep well it kinda makes for a different day
got back and cleaned up the kitchen by that time I thought that I would just color which I'd remembered that I just have one row to do tonight on afghan (to stay with my system) I should have worked on it .. might still was having problems with yahoo so didn't spend much time on it
so ahead of schedule  and I really don't need to spend 1.5 hours on forty thieves
you all have a great day
