Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, October 22nd

Good Morning from the 45th. Still dark out there at 7:35 this morning. Cloudy at the moment. Think it’s supposed to be a mix of sun and clouds today with high of 74. Yesterday hit 80. Way above normal highs in the mid 50’s. Was almost too warm to work outside by afternoon, but I was done with my chores anyway.

Seems like all I have been doing is keeping after leaves. Done for the moment, but have two more trees in front that still have leaves to come down. Need to clear our walking path as it’s gotten a bit buried. But think I am going to take the dogs and go for a drive down west of Houghton Lake to the store/meat processor I sometimes get my meat from. They have English roast on sale this week. And chicken breasts as well. We can stop at a roadside park on way home and let them snoop around. Then I will go to my favorite restaurant in Houghton Lake. Fall color is past its peak here and now browns and bronzes taking over. But still pretty in their own right.

I finally figured out a way to get that iron frame from our sub sign back to the house. It just fit width wise Across my Dolly, so I used that to walk it back up tbe road. Gave my arm muscles a good workout holding that Dolly up with that weight, but it’s good to tax your arms when you get older, so you don’t lose strength. No worse for the wear and I accomplished my goal. It’s now propped up against my sawhorses on side of my garage. I have it sanded, printed all but one final coat of paint on one side so almost done. Am hoping to do that today if I can, as rain heading in tonight. Haven’t started touching up the sign itself. Will get to it sometime this week. Still working in finishing my current DP. Getti g close to the end.

Beth, your fridge looks really nice. He does nice work. So now that project is done and on to the next one. Judy, glad you are getting tests lined up. Barbie, you certainly are busy. Sounds like a good program you are in. Will keep you busy for a few weeks, but if it helps with health issues, will be well worth it. Shelia, sounds like it was a nice birthday gathering for your mom. Hope she enjoyed it. Shirl, nice to hear from you. Glad you are enjoying sitting out on the porch.

So I guess this wraps up this post for today. Need to give Molly her last eye drop and take my supplements, then get dressed and go from there. So have a nice day everyone.

Sue, I definitely need to do some strength building exercises. I'm getting weaker all the time which isn't good. Luckily I still get my walking in.

Sheila, this shelter is to protect the tt. If I wanted, I could park the car on the porch area, but I don't see doing that. I'm covering that for better shade.

I have a zoom meeting of the board of directors meeting at my SKP Park starting soon so best get my stuff together for that.

Been a busy morning here today. Managed to get my butt in gear early and off to Bi-Mart, Walmart, Donation center and Lowe's. Now starting to think about some food. Then have a few housekeeping chores to do and then I will be done for the day.
Beth your carport for your trailer sounds like a really good idea. Should definitely help keep it cooler and also preserve the roof. Barbie glad you are getting all your ducks in a row. Then when you are all dialed in it is time to play. Sue is battling the leaves this time of year. I am glad I dont have lots of trees around here. Martha I like to make Scampi with angel hair pasta too. I dont make it real often but when I do it is ooooh so good. The grits are a no go for me LOL my southern friend tried really hard to get me to like them by throwing everything under the sun in them.......nope. Going to finish up my terriyaki chicken bowl leftovers then my fridge will be pretty empty and I will give it a good wipe down tomorrow.

Nothing much else to report other than a cool damp day

I got up at 6:30 am this morning to go online and try to get a space at Watchman Campground in Zion that opened today. There was only one that I really wanted and only a couple of others available with power, so I figured that as usual I will have to try for several early mornings in a row. Nope. I was shocked when I clicked on my spot and got it! In fact, I was so surprised, I almost did not recognize the sign-in page! Got registered, and now i have to decide where to go after Zion. One thing is I have to fly out to Ohio for a few days at the end of May for a graduation, so flying out of Las Vegas or Salt Lake City would make sense. Worried that Las Vegas might be a bit hot, so need to do some thinking. Might end up paying for a spot where I could keep it plugged in for a few days so I did not have to worry about refrigerator stuff.

I have one Ohio grandkid graduating right after Memorial Day, but date TBD. CA kid to graduate around June 6, also exact date TBD. (Can't these high schools plan more in advance?)

Went back to bed after my early morning reservation, but at least I won't have to get up so early next few days.

And, Sheila, I am hanging around Oregon until after I get all my tests done. I was planning to head down to Ashland, which is near the border, but I think i am going to change my plans so I don't have to drive so far.

Hi ladies~~~
Yes, it's been a while for me. Was going too wait until the first, so I'd have something to say, but changed my mind. It's a woman's prerogative. Right? ;)

Anyway, I'm back in Arizona, but not in AJ at the house yet. I did finally get up to Monument Valley. I was booked there for a week, and then on to Williams, but below freezing temps were expected so I came south for a week. Down in Tucson visiting Eileen's cousin- in- law and the other ladies I've gotten to know over the last 2 years.

Then I'll head up to AJ, and have booked a week at the KOA that's close to "home", for a week of emptying everything out of the camper before it goes into storage for 2 weeks. Have an appointment to bring it in for maintenance and to have the stupid panty put in again (3rd time) in mid-November. I told the Advisor to cut the door off that pulls out the pantry and just make it a regular door since I already bought plastic drawers that the space. A 50# pantry is just a bad design with one 20# latch to keep it closed.

Can't wait to clean our the truck and camper with some things I've bought for decorations in the house as well as the paintings I had in storage. Thankfully Airstream recommends Pledge for cleaning the interior. Easier than soap and water, just have to watch out for some streaks.

Once at the house, I've got alot to do. So guess I will have something to tell you about on the Rabbits Rollcall check-in.

We had some excitement in the neighborhood this morning. I was on the old carport and kept hearing a helicopter that was flying close. I walked out to look at it and it was making a big circle in this area. I don't pay much attention to helicopters because there is a heliport about 5 miles from here so I hear them all the time. When I walked back up on the hill I saw that the helicopter was an Air Med helicopter and had landed in the neighbor's yard past me. There was an Acadian Ambulance, two sheriff cars and several other trucks. I found out that the man that lives on past me was sick and his daughter had called an ambulance. He must have been in a bad way because they called the Air Med and had him flown to the hospital in Lafayette.

I went to town to get some gumbo at the deli but they had stuffed bell peppers instead of gumbo. I didn't want bell peppers so decided to go get a hamburger at McDonald's. I can't remember the last time I picked up a hamburger at McDonald's. Tonight on the news McDonald's has a recall on their quarter pounder in some states. I got a big mac. The recall isn't in this state. The difference in the actual hamburger and the picture on the menu is ridiculous. I need to keep making my own, they are much better. I try to buy some hamburger patties that are labeled as Ribeye Burgers. I like them the best.

I had mostly quit walking when it was so hot. About two weeks ago I started walking again and my knees and hip joints have been hurting a lot. I'm finally getting over being so sore when I walk. It sure take a longer time to get over things at this age.

I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. I'm sure I can find a reason to go to town. Since I didn't get my gumbo today I might have to make some.

Martha I looked up foods in Louisiana to see if I could find the name of the food dish I tried... actually made ... jambalaya I know that there is a difference between jambalaya and Jumbo but really don't know the difference... you mention jumbo more so assume that is your preference..
that sounds like a quite the program you are in Barbi ..... sounds like a good one...and sounds like you are going to enjoy your new home/area.
Cheryl you are making good time I thought that you were not going to be in AJ till Nov... but it's really close to it isn't it... on my trip I saw and interesting trailer airstream is what it said... but look more like a Rpod think is the name of it and had windows that wrapped around the sides and front of the trailer... an interesting look one oh and the door to get inside was in the rear... if it hadn't said Airstream I wouldn't have thought it was one...
nurse was here today they will be doing an assessment to see if mom still qualifies for Hospice she assured me that she does... but they have to do it every 6 months... can't believe it's been that long...
Beth I've seen those shelters they look like a good idea... I would think it would help in cooling of the TT a bit...
both Sue and Karen sure keep busy
I tried making the rose for the hat today all was working out well and had it shaped and sewed and saw that it shifted and didn't look right so tried to take it apart but now it really doesn't look good... can't located all the ins and outs to take it apart... not a happy camper for sure not sure if I need to try too take it apart more or start over not sure how to secure so it doesn't shift while sewing it up ... I will admit I don't make a pretty bow so what makes me think I can make a pretty rose????
did have the french toast was really good used a cinnamon croissant bread it's regular shaped bread think slice with cinnamon going through it was really yummy
you all have a great day

Sheila, I think the Airstream you saw is called a Basecamp or a Nest. One of my friends has one.

It's gumbo that I like the most. That's a soup made with a dark roux.
