Wednesday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday Afternoon

All good things must come to an end. Great trip that turned on the last day driving back to Benson. All of a sudden I realized I was getting warm. Three blower to the ac was making noise but very little cool air coming out. Put it on high, which I don't think made much difference and was sweating by the time I got home. So first thing tomorrow TY gets to stay in the ac of either the rv or casita and I'll drive it in to a local shop and see when/ if they can look at it. Hopefully it's not major but I'm not counting on it. Of course upper 90's and into the 100's all this week.

Nothing else to report.

Well, if it had to happen, better when you got to Benson, , than half way back or something. Let’s hope it’s loss of coolant or something. Those hot temps are hard in vehicles. Glad you arrived safely and had a good trip.

Sheila, way back when I was first married, my ex-husband's elderly grandparents did not turn the lights on in their house until it was almost dark. That was not so bad, but they did pretty much the same thing with their car headlights. They said the headlights used electricity and caused gas mileage to go down, so they waited until they really could not see while driving to turn them on!!!

OK, here is status of repairs:
- He replaced one of the bed struts that help you lift it to get underneath. Works great now!
- Stove burners - He took top off my gas stove and cleaned the one knob which did not work. I cleaned top of tray underneath burners as apparently I had a lot of things boil over, gunking everything up. Burner works fine.
- Bad news. TV is dead, so I took a lot of measurements and went to Best Buy and bought a replacement. Had to shop for size, not anything else, but they are all smart TVs, and all will attach to my satellite and other stuff. Best Buy will install it on the motorized arm on Friday morning. Might have to drill a couple of new holes in arm. Good news is that TV was cheap, bad news is that installation will probably cost more than TV!
- Really bad news. I definitely need a new hot water tank. It has been leaking on the blower motor for my front furnace, which has caused it to freeze up. Since I was in Florida all winter, I never used it, so did not realize leak was causing furnace problem. Also, old water heater is no longer being made, and new Dometic version is slightly taller so installer will have to adjust something, who knows what. Also, water heater has to be ordered and cannot be ordered until service place confirms what is needed. Cold shower anyone? (Will be fine until they start tearing it out.)

At least I got a few things fixed.

Good evening. Great day here high was 69 and 94 yesterday,, go figure. We even had a few drops of rain for about 10 minutes. Still have my worker bees here installing my new lights, plugs, ceiling fans. Some problem areas but hopefully will make more progress tomorrow. So far the lights have been a bit of a challenge for various reasons but think we are winning now. They are all installed. Living room lights are in and working. Family room lights are in but still need to be hooked up. That is happening tomorrow wahoo. I cant really get into any projects while they are here so kind of just twiddling my thumbs watching the progress or non progress depending. I even got him a small job from my next door neighbors. They just want an outside outlet on their carport side. Thank goodness I have quite a few outlets outside so I dont need that.

Went to town this morning and got my hair trimmed. And that is the sum of my day. I didnt even have to cook dinner as my neighbor Mary brought over some beef stew and cornbread. Was very tasty. I gave her some chocolate cake I made yesterday for her hubby as he loves chocolate LOL I only wanted a couple of pieces so sent some home with Brandon and Robin (electrician and assistant ha ha) so got it all doled out. Emma is totally exhausted. She is used to several naps in a day and has missed out the last few days ha ha Curled up in her bed now snoring. I will be soon too.

I can understand why you would think that Anne, Idaho Falls is the largest town close by about 100 miles away .... you might check out Idaho not near the touristy spots but other small town areas... there is a town south of Pocatello that whenever I go through it I think what a nice town but of course I can't think of the name of it it's right on 15 anyway keep looking I am sure you will find your best place....
Beth so sorry about your car/A/C hopefully it's just the coolant.. and it's good it happened there when it did instead of on your way down to TX at least this way you have a spot for TY to veg out in and be cooler...
Judy sounds like a lot of good things but a new heater... I don't know how they work and don't know if it would work but have you looking into those instant hot water things like I said I don't even know their proper name.... just a thought if you are looking for the hot water heater in AZ there used to be a 'grave yard for rv's " that you could salvage things might be a place to look for in that not everything gets damaged when the rv is no longer livable
Barbie here is hoping that it is the starter a quick fix if they have it... it's getting closer and I am hoping all will go well here on out
my knees were not happy today not at all  I spent most of the afternoon stretched out on the bed except when I habitually bent them as I normally do however that didn't bother so much but walking oh my couldn't talk myself into going to the store will have to either have the kid downstairs do it or just not drink as much in the next couple of days... didn't know it but I even have bruises on my leg and knee told you it wasn't a pretty picture...
hoping tomorrow is better will have to get up and set mom's hair after the aide gives her a shower... but I really enjoyed the ride... yes Barbie Jim's work is really good he has won several awards has pictures in a shoot can't remember where we were some museum of some sort somewhere looking about and Larry came up to me and said got something to show you and took me to where western paintings where didn't take long to recognize his painting wish I could remember where that was  I think they have 2 galleries in town
Karen bet you are looking forward to getting the work done... how nice to give them some cake... think when I go to the store I'm going to get some spice and apple just to see what it is like
you all have a great day

In bed and ready for a good night's sleep!

I ended up having my car towed this afternoon. The tow driver did get it started with a jump start and thinks it is just a battery issue. Will see what the mechanic comes up with. I know batteries don't last long in these hot summers and mine is 2 years old. Will find out tomorrow... a new battery would be cheaper than a starter.

I also need to buy a new TV when I get to Tucson. I am leaving mine here, and there isn't one in the bedroom where I am renting. The one I have here is an older 32" and I think I will get a 40" smart TV. They are pretty cheap these days! I am hoping I can plug my DVD player into it, tho.

Didn't get a whole lot done today partly due to messing around with getting the car towed, etc. I will start early tomorrow and make up for what I didn't get done today. Not really too much left. Just everything takes longer than I think it will.

My pocket door for my bedroom came partially off the track this morning and is now stuck mostly open but kitty-wampus. Need to find someone who can fix that for me. I like to keep it mostly closed (just open enough for the cats to get thru) to keep the cold air in the bedroom.

I saw that Hurricane Helene will be a Cat 4 by landfall but looks like it is tracking more north than they thought and won't hit near Tampa now. But hurricanes are like tornadoes, they can go anywhere they want at the last minute.

Have a good night.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
