It's Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Sunday

I'm sweating. How can vacuuming my small Casita make me sweat? But it always does lol When I lived up north I always opened windows in the winter to vacuum. Crazy.

I was thinking of going into Sierra Vista and running errands today, but I think I'll wait until the middle of the week. I particularly need a haircut and there is a Great Clips there. Sure wish you were near, Barbie!

Enjoy your Sunday.

Breezy Sunday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sun Aug 04, 2024 12:02 pm

Good morning gals!

I slept for a good 9+ hours overnight. Was busy yesterday. I decided to get back to cleaning out my bedroom. I needed more bins, some for the thrift store, some for storage, and some for the RV. I went under the house to get my stash of bins. Well, they were all filthy, so I had to hose them all out and let them dry in the sun for awhile. I have a lot of smaller lids but no smaller bins for them. :? Not sure where those all went but will have to pick up more of those later as needed. I like the ones I have because they stack on top of each other so well.

I went thru the bins under my bed that I had already organized a couple years ago. Some were full of books so I went thru those and a lot of them will go into storage rather than the RV, now. Cleared out the rest of my closet shelves. Put winter clothes in a bin for storage. I still have a couple of cabinets to clean out but am getting closer to being done with the bedroom. I should finish that today, I hope. Lots of little misc stuff to go thru, which I hate, but I also hate boxes labeled "misc stuff", since they just get moved from one place to another and never get looked at again. The other rooms hopefully, won't take quite as long to sort thru.

I left a small light on in the living room so the cats would be able to navigate around all the bins out there overnight if they get zoomies or start chasing each other around. I will move the bins into the porch today.

Looks breezy outside this morning. It is usually either gale force winds or nothing at all around here. Nice to have just a breezy day. But it will be in the mid one hundred teens today.

Have a good safe cool day!

Beth, when Barbie talks about giving her neighbors hair cuts I wish she was near me too. I have been cutting on my hair for a couple of months so it's a mess. I'll probably call to get an appointment Tuesday.

Sharon, I have only flown about 6 times and every time has been a PIA. I'm not afraid of flying but I don't like everything that goes with it. I have been smelling a skunk when I go out at night. I make Luna go out in her little yard at night. Hopefully I have it varmint proof. It's been a long time since a possum has gotten in her yard. Hope you get your inspection and bumper fixed. A couple of years ago I bumped the pipe fence with the motorhome bumper. The bumper is fiberglass and only held on by screws so it's for decoration only. I didn't even think about the insurance. I just put the bumper in the old house. There is a scrape on the end that will have to be fixed. I'll worry about that when I get ready to sell it. I keep hearing that they might do away with vehicle inspections here. I still haven't gotten the truck inspected. The guy I go to will get to talking to customers and not do much of an inspection. We have the same conversation almost every time I go. He knew my husband's family so he has to tell me about that.

Sheila, I get the frozen dinners often and there is barely enough food for one person. The picture on the box is a far cry from the actual food. Have you tried the grapes that are so sweet? I don't remember what they call them. They are so sweet they are almost like candy.

Some of the ribs I cooked yesterday got too well done. They are more like pulled pork than BBQ ribs. I divided it up into small freezer bags so have 6 meals. I'm not doing too well getting the food in the freezer down.

I should have mowed at noon yesterday. About 2:00 it started storming and I got another inch of rain. First thing in the morning I go out with Luna. I throw her ball and she will retrieve it a couple of times and then use the bathroom. This morning she ran out to where the ball was and stood on 3 legs looking at me. The grass was wet. lol She thinks I tricked her. She used the bathroom quick and ran back to the porch.

I'm not sure where Irmi lives in Florida. Hope she doesn't get flooding rain with the storm.

Good afternoon ladies!

Beth, how long will you be staying where your casita is? Sharon, that is a bummer about your inspection. Martha, I live in central FL about an hour west of Orlando. We just got back from church, wficf was followed by a potluck, since it is the first
Sunday of the month. I made a crockpot of beef stew. There was very little left. We drove through a very heavy down pour on I-75 and as we were driving into our development, it was pouring again. There are tornado warnings and watches and flood warnings and watches all around us. I'm sure we will stay in the casita tonight and maybe tomorrow, too. If we lose power, we will go into the motorhome so we can use the generator. By the time Debby reaches the Big Bend in the FL panhandle, Debby could be a class 1 urricane. I oope Liz and Nan will be okay. Spell correct is getting tired so I am going to end ere.

Martha, I've been cutting mine, too.

Irmi, I'm taking 2 weeks in mid September for a road trip with the car to South Dakota and back. Then the second week or so in October I'll move the RV onto a storage lot here in Arizona and head to Texas for the winter. It's going to feel strange using the car for road trips. Like you I have a Ford Focus, but I don't have any problems seeing out and don't need pillows, etc. This will be my first time ever needing to shut down my fridge/ freezer instead of just moving things. And it'll be interesting how much I can take. I'll figure some of that out on the SD trip, with everything I need just for TY lol I may even try tent camping.

Beth, you are so teeny, tiny, I'm thinking your Ford Focus as better seats than ours. Even with the driver's seat cranked up, I don't care for the feel. I love my seat cushion. I'm sure you'll get used to your new lifestyle.

As we both will. I'm looking forward to getting 40 mpg on the road. And I might stick to short diving days. Time will tell for both of us.

Good evening. Been a warm day outside but got the outside chores done before noon. I have a long list of things to do outside but I just dont tolerate the heat. So the mornings are good for me. It is 6pm and 92 here. Nice and cool in my house tho so not complaining.

I am going on a road trip too on Tuesday ha ha Driving up to Eugene (70miles) to meet Laura for lunch. We are going to P F Changs. I havent ever been there but Laura says it is really good so I am up for it. Always fun to get out of town for a bit even tho it isnt that far.

Just finished dinner and now ready for some tube time.

Karen I have been to PF Changs it is good but it's been a lot of years ago well 4 maybe  not sure what it was we had but enjoyed it and have picked up frozen occasionally
Irmi here is hoping that you don't have issues at all with weather... saw on FB that Liz and her husband went to one of their daughters house and Nan took a road trip up to perhaps Georgia not positive about that at all
Barbie sounds like you have a bunch of stuff to go through... a few years ago I was looking at the name of a storage unit and thought a perfect name for a storage unit would be "out of site out of mind" we put stuff in a unit a few years later we put it in with dd #3 storage unit a few months ago she emptied up her unit it's now in her house and she is going through stuff... a month or so ago she had me quickly go through some bins of paper stuff and decide what to do all those years to end up burning it??? some stuff still needs to be gone through... oh some of the stuff in the original unit is now in the Q library so feel for you
there is an ad on tv from some cleaners they will come in and clean your house for 19 dollars for the first trip one of the ads says something to the effect that whatever the company came in and cleaned their house for 19 dollars so they fired their housekeeper I always feel bad for the housekeeper but also wonder what they charge after the first visit... to me it's an almost dishonest commercial as this speaker doesn't say that .... but others do ...irks me every time...
we got a bit of rain today and it was cooler so happy about that
it was a normal Sunday can't say more than that did try the orzo lemon chicken spinach pea dish ... it was good did over cook the chicken though as I over slept from the nap and decided to slice the breast in half so they wouldn't take as long but then stuff got in the way and over cooked them.. I think if I was to do it again and if I remember will do so but I think I'd like it with chunks of chicken in it
you all have a great day

Sheila, I have seen that commercial too and wondered the same thing about how much it costs after the first visit. I would imagine that in order to get the $19 first visit, you probably have to commit to so many more cleanings at the "normal" rate, whatever that is.

I got a late start on the bedroom today. Started watching the Olympics golf tournament which was actually over so I just got to see our US golfer getting the gold medal! Yay! Then I ended up watching a couple shows showing how real people survived tornadoes and durachoes that happened in the past 5 years or so. Pretty harrowing!

I got going around 2pm and cleaned out all the cabinets in my room. Filled a couple more bins for the thrift store. All I have left in the bedroom is a few small boxes of the "misc stuff" to go thru. And I also need to go thru my small file box and get rid of old stuff and organize the current stuff. Then I will start on the bathroom. Not a lot to go thru in there other than the medicine cabinet and a couple shelves in the linen closet.

I have until Thursday before I have any appointments. I hope I can get most of the inside of the house done by then, but things always take longer than figured. Thursday, I have a dr appointment in the morning and a dentist appt in the afternoon, and hopefully, closing on the house somewhere in the middle! :o

I bought an apple pie the other day at WM. I thought it was baked and ready to eat so I was gonna have some this afternoon. But it turns out it needs to be baked first. The house was SO hot today that there is no way I was about to turn on the oven! Even my bedroom AC was struggling to stay cool enough. So maybe I will throw the pie in the oven first thing in the morning.

Irmi, I hope you don't get too wet with Debbie coming thru. I am sure my friend Cathy and her husband are glad to have recently moved from Crystal River, inland and up 80 ft above sea level.

Good night!
