Friday June 21st

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday June 21st

Hi ladies~~~

HOT! HOT! HOT! Here in AZ, but good news I'm hitting the road on Monday! Warrenty repairs on the mobile were completed on Wednesday. Took longer than expected between finding the correct materials (they no longer use what was made) and the heat. They usually only worked until noon. I don't blame them, but just wanted it done!

The resided the entire house! Originally only 8 panels were needed, but they had to do the entire house since the panels they could get were different. Repainted the entire house too and fixed a couple of leaky windows. Like campers, these things are a rolling bucket of bolts when transported, so cracks in the siding and leaky windows are expected I guess. Doesn't help that the park knew about the cracks but didn't put in a warranty claim. Luckily it didn't cost me a penny since warranty ends in November.

So I'll be heading to higher elevations for sure. First stop Flagstaff to meet up with friends for a birthday, then working my way back to IL for an August family wedding.

Punkin and I are both bored sittting around here. It's to hot. Unfortunately, heading back to humidity. Ugh! But I'll be on the road!!!

Cheryl, what great news!! I know this has been frustrating! Sheila, glad you are getting some help including your new 'roommate' with muscles! :)

I woke up at 4:30 this morning and waking up is about the only good thing so far - lots of frustrations. On a good note, I guess my daughter had missed the part where I plan to be gone 2-3 months so she's coming over to 'hang out' later. :) I thought I had found storage for the Sling, but the door is too narrow. Found another place and made a reservation but nobody to check door width - yet. Fingers crossed. Even with all I did before leaving, a can got in again!

We are having some warm days - 88 feels like 96. Also just got a fire watch for Sunday. There is a large fire near the north end of Lake Chelan which is north of here - over 4,000 acres. It's in rugged country but threatening the little area on the far end of the lake that you reach by boat. New Mexico is a mess.

Monica on her way!

Yay, Cheryl, your place is fixed and you can get on the road, to cooler places. I'm glad it's finally happening and you are getting out before July 4th!

This summer is a test for me on staying the entire summer in Benson. I'll be making a quick trip to South Dakota in September, but by then the worst heat will be done here. And I'm doing that trip with the car to check out other means of staying places then and again on the drive to Texas. I don't know if I can become a tent camper, but that's even a possibility.

Anita, good reason for a visit!

Cheryl, glad you got your repairs done and can get on the road. I still need to call someone to do the dirt work I want done. I might go to the lake for the 4th if the weather is good. I signed up for another campout July 18-21. It will be hot. Considering how scared Luna is of thunder I probably should stay home for the 4th.

I went to town today, mostly to get a fish dinner. I picked up what groceries I needed at the local grocery store. They are higher than Walmart but I am tired of the mess at Walmart.

It got up to 98 today. I don't do much outside until abut 6:00. Someone said I should soak my foot in ice water. I tried that a couple of times and it made the pain worse but now it seems to be doing better. I was able to walk with Luna yesterday and today. I went and sprayed the weeds on the corner. My neighbor passed while I was spraying so hope he takes a hint. He has a 4 wheeler with a sprayer and I'm spraying weeds with a pump sprayer.

I got most of the plants planted have three that will go in planters on the front deck... they set aside some plants for me that brain isn't spelling well enough for spell check to find... anyway so when I go get them I will add a few more to those... they will also go on the front deck then I need to finish up a pot or two will take pictures of them and see what they suggest... I really should have planted them yesterday as some were totally dry... and I do wonder if they will make it... my fault though...
between that and scriptures haven't done much did put the roast in the oven.... wasn't happy with it... didn't like the seasoning and the meat was tough that kind where the more you chew the bigger the wad gets... I don't know if there is any way of fixing the meat ...so it's edible any ideas????
In a lot of ways Anita I am so looking forward to it ... I just hope that mom will go for it... when dd talked to her about it she wasn't against it... but who knows if she will remember when he comes... right now I have a box of stuff on the deck that is super heavy it may need to be put into bags and packed to the garbage that way...and then getting the big can down to the street is going to be a big issue so hopefully he will move in by Monday
still have a cold still giving me fits...
looks like Christmas is on Hallmark Mystery I think I need to not get into this one it won't be over till 1:00 I may still be up but not watching tv
need to go give mom her pain pill...
Cheryl so glad you get to get on the road.... have fun be safe and stay in touch
Oh Anita I must have missed it too... I know that you are going on a cruise to AK but where else are you going? my two eldest girls are going to be in your neck of the woods ... my eldest especially loves Christmas stores so on their trip they are going to spend some time in Levenworth... my #1 dd has a wedding to attend to dd#2 is tagging along they will go see their sister in Bremerton see what they can see and do some letter boxing along the way... it will be a good thing for them
Beth even when I get to spend more time in AZ I don't think it will take in the summer I plan at this time leaving for the north so I'm back for memorial day and go back down sometime in Sept... that way I will only be in the high altitude for a few months
Martha hopefully he will do a good thing and spray for you
you all have a great day

Sheila, I have never heard of letter boxing so had to look it up. Seems along the lines of geocaching just a different way of finding.

My trip is not going to include a cruise. Will be with a friend in a truck camper. I mentioned it to another friend so she and her husband are joining us for a couple months. Will visit grandson in Anchorage at some point. Probably make a big circle and then going to the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. No set itinerary.

I found another storage place for the Sling with a door that's plenty wide!
