Monday, June 17

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, June 17

Good morning - for a little longer!

Still trying to catch up after being gone! Fighting my checkbook - bank is $700 over (better than under) what I figure and that makes me crazy! Will make a small grocery run and hopefully get the newest Covid shot.

Sheila, glad you enjoyed the ATV ride! Too bad you never came to Salome when I had access to the RZR! With so many different socializing situations on my trip, the hearing aids got a workout and frustrating at times. I knew it could be a challenge. Martha, I always think of that photo posted once of you ladies with your chairs in the stream!

It's been a rough couple of days for my daughter, but they are out for a short ride now. I still don't know the whole story, but they did remove some bone and the infected bone marrow. On their ride Alan doesn't want her to get out anywhere because he's afraid someone will think he's responsible for her bruised, swollen face. Sister-in-law's insurance approved the new chemo drug for her.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Anita, hope you get to keep the $700 overage. lol I am forever writing a check when I’m out and not entering it. Then I can’t remember what I wrote a check for. We were in the creek again this weekend. I spent a lot of time in the creek since I didn’t go on the kayak trip. I knew there had been a couple of issues on the trip and found out today one of the ladies had to be airlifted to a New Orleans hospital. I know she was on blood thiner for some reason. Seems like she has COPD and got so weak she had to be carried out of the river. She is posting on Facebook today so is doing better. Another lady tied a water jug to the kayak and when a tree flipped her kayak the water jug wrapped around her leg. Thank goodness a man that was near had a knife and cut her free. I’m not looking forward to having to wear hearing aids. When you get 30 women together talking I can’t understand anything.

The wind just picked up and I can hear it in the house. The radar shows rain to the East. Usually our rain is moving to the East but I think this one is going Northwest. The weather man says I could get 3 inches of rain today and tomorrow. I’m sure glad I got the grass mowed yesterday.

A couple of my cats walk around the house howling. I guess they look for me when I’m gone. If I call them they shut up. They must have started the Roomba while I was gone. When I went to start it today it was already full of cat hair.

Maybe the cats got Roomba'ed?

Hot today in Ohio, but it just rained very heavily, so that should help a bit. (No creek around here to sit in.) Grandson is picking me up tomorrow to take me to their house for a few hours tonight to celebrate my birthday. We'll be going out to dinner and they will have a cake for me. My DIL really does not like to cook, and they have enough money to afford it, so they eat out or order in a lot, like maybe every other day. It made me think of when my son was about 7 or 8 and said he wanted to be a doctor so he could eat out a lot--not much altruism in his career choice in those days. Actually not much altruism in his current career as an engineer and VP of marketing for a medium-sized manufacturing company, but he likes his job and so does his wife who works full time.

I need to get to Dick's sporting goods sometime this week to pick up a replacement for my outdoor chair that I tossed out a couple of months ago because after 12 years it was badly rusted and would no longer fold up. I really liked it because you did not sink into it, which means I could get out of it without help!! (Big disadvantage of traveling alone is getting stuck in a chair or on a low stool.) Took a while to find who carries them in stock, so will stop by a Dick's on my way to Michigan on Thursday. I think I will get two so I have one for company.

Hopefully you'll figure your bank account out, Anita. Best scenario would be if you figured wrong and you have an extra $700!

I went into Tucson this morning and started my day with a full body check at my dermatologist. I was happy with the results. Just a couple new areas she put under observation, so I'll go back before heading to Texas in October. And I promised to start wearing a hat more often. Stopped at an oil change place and was surprised they had no one there. After talking and getting the car in, etc, then they told me they were out of their regular oil and offered me the $79 oil change. No thank you. That's up more than $30, maybe more than $40 from the one I wanted! Crazy. So picked up a small order from Sam's Club including coconut water. I need to start drinking it again with the heat what it is. Filled my gas for less than $3. Yay! I have to drive to Casa Grande tomorrow which is twice as far, so I'll probably stop back at Sam's and refill the tank again at hopefully still that price it lower.

Ty is giving me googly eyes. It's past his dinner time. No sound, etc, just those eyes. They work.

I wish I had to Anita I think it was the first year we were at Q Larry and I and his sister and her husband rented a couple of side by sides... went looking for Dripping Springs it was a ball some day I'll have to tell you about it... a fun story
Judy I carry two chairs I think even when Larry was still alive we carried extra chairs...
hope you enjoyed your birthday with your family.... dinner out is always a plus then birthday cake is yummy
one thing I was going to do while in Idaho was take the car and get the oil changed it's due although it isn't using oil guess I will end up taking it to the dealer here in town but they are more expensive than other places... Jiffy lube we don't have not that I would take it to Jiffy Lube... would have had it done in Utah when I was there but the shop was too busy I was lucky to get the headlight changed...
it was a miserably cold day today was going to plant the few plants I've gotten so far .... it didn't happen
went to the store so easy to spend more than intended... nurse came today her sores are improving she seems to be more at ease with the nurse... she has been having some very vivid dreams and she is having a problem realizing that they are dreams... it's too bad that they are troubling dreams not just running in the meadow type dreams...
I think that getting hearing aides are going to have to happen soon as well... just don't want to pay for them so expensive... I watched a thing on yahoo yesterday telling about this many gadgets that are a must have.... one I really think I will need to look into it can't remember though what it's called but it opens the nose a bit so one gets more oxygen my question is will it work if you use oxygen???? as it fits in your nose much like a nose ring but higher up .... I always feel congested (like I really could blow out a lot but can't) I know TMI but I've wondered if perhaps that is some of the reason I need to use oxygen...
you all have a great night

Almost midnight here. :o

I went to HD today and picked up a bag of fire ant bait. No one here (maintena nce) showed up to take care of that so I decided to do it myself. The last time I bought stuff, it was so nasty smelling, like dead animal, that I threw the rest of it out. Today, I bought some Terro for fire ants and it is granules so hopefully no smell. So will put that out tomorrow morning early.

The wind was vicious today and tonight! So I will need to blow the dust and debris from my deck and driveway again  . I will get out there early in the morning to take care of that before it gets hot.

Got my living room cleaned. SO much cat hair!!! Speaking of hair, I finally frosted my hair tonight. I always worry a lot about screwing it up but I never have. It turned out nice. I am a blonde again! And it has a lot more body and fullness now so I won't look so frumpy anymore.

I talked to my SIL today. I guess my brother will have surgery at the end of August to remove the tumor from his adrenal gland on his kidney.

Also talked to my friend up in Oregon for quite awhile tonight. Haven't talked to her for months!

Got a full list of things to do tomorrow. So off the bed I go now...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
