A Visit From my Daughter

Postby retiredhappy » Mon Jul 20, 2009 9:54 am

My daughter and her friend Dean, are here visiting me for a few days. They're going to go to the Cliff Dwelling and Catwalk and stuff while I'm working then we'll BBQ tonight. First time she's ever been able to visit me while I'm workamping and she loves New Mexico as much as I do.

The Rufus hummingbirds have arrived and have completely taken over my two feeders. Talk about two inches of pure attitude - they're not afraid of anything. One of them has taken to sitting on the head of my Flamingo to guard the feeder.

Boy, that little hummingbird is lucky your Flamingo is so friendly. I sure wouldn't let anyone sit on my head and poop!

What a neat way the kids travel. Your daughter is a good-lookin' girl. Where did they come from?

And do you see the arms on that girl! I am soooo jealous...I always wanted arms that look like that (well, not to mention the whole body). But I like food better... :)

Mitch, they came from Kerrville, Texas (my home) about a 600 mile drive. Actually don't know where this kids came from - she runs five miles a day - I HATE to exercise and love to eat. Go figure.

What fun for all of you! I love those KOA Kamping Kabins-----they are perfect for a few nights, or for an overnighter while traveling from place to place---would much rather be in one of those than a motel/hotel room.

Daughter and friend look very happy! Have a great time!

Karen, your DD reminds me so much of my DD. Same size, loves motorcycles and blonde, too.
My SIL talked my DD into selling their bikes a couple years ago. He said they were too dangerous and gets nervous when she rides. (He use to race motorcross when in high school). Anyway, she's been having withdrawals ever since, so a couple weeks ago she told him she was getting a new bike no matter what! He said she wasn't going to ride without him along so they went together and bought two new ones. This time they got the 'Honda crotch rocket' types. She had a Shadow 650 before, a pretty big bike for a 115 lb gal. She has worked out every day since high school. One stipulation when they built their new home was a workout room.

Thanks for sharing the picture. Nice looking couple and I bet you are thrilled to have them!
Love the hummer shot, too!

Karen, I remember you took a picture of your daughter when she first got the bike. She looked absolutely fabulously happy then and she still does. I know the bike is the cause of that, but could the guy be as well? :D anyway, enjoy your time with them. Linda

Today they went to the Catwalk while I worked. I'm really enjoying having them visit. This is the first time she's ever been able to visit me while I'm workamping.
