Good morning. Sun is shining 48 out right now. I just came in from semi organizing my shed. I am going over to the Plant Warehouse to see what I can buy LOL Then will have lunch and head to the Farmers Market this afternoon. Will be good to get out of the house for an afternoon. Bunco was fun, I won $10 wahoo I will go spend it today I am sure.

My day isn't going at all as planned. I decided to put my decent vacuum in the tt after finding a cabinet it fits in. So went into my storage on the C to get the vacuum cleaner bags. They were in a tote I've been using for years. Opened it and discovered most things covered in an orange liquid. I figured out something damaged the side of a gallon container with a windshield cleaner. Luckily it wasn't full and the damage was about 1/4 up the side, but the same amount still in the container was on everything else. So everything was removed and put in the sun. I've only thrown out a few things so far. A couple are on the iffy list and I'll see after everything is dry. Thank goodness it was limited to that container!!!

It's a beautiful day though so enjoying being outside even if not the reason lol

Good rainy afternoon -

I did say Rabbits but so far that's not helping!! Brother so anemic they had to postpone chemo and he can't work; daughter had allergic reaction to new med along with abscessed tooth; son-in-law's brother-in-law passed away last evening while being flown from one hospital to another; after 5 weeks, I decided to see doctor (new one) for my stomach issues yesterday. Have now waited 23 hours for lab results she assured me she would have yesterday afternoon. So far a phone call today has not worked. I'm applying at a medical school to teach a class on what waiting does to a patient's nerves. LOL

Beth, glad that spill wasn't worse! Irmi, I also noticed we hadn't heard from you for awhile so was happy to see your post. Karen, congrats on the 'big' win! Lyn, I've had posts disappear for no reason, too! Didn't used to happen. Carol, hope Bill is feeling better. Martha, your roses are so pretty! I fear my experiment with the potted bulbs wintered in the closet is a bust.

Onward!

I can see where a lot of doctors should take your course!!! I can remember when a doctor told me my breast biopsy would almost certainly turn out to be positive for cancer--and that was only a week after I had been diagnosed with CLL. I was literally pacing my RV waiting for them to call me with the biopsy results, which luckily were negative for cancer, but positive for scar tissue. I was about to pass out from all the stress, so I know how you feel. And what a stream of health problems your family is having!! Hope things get resolved soon.

Picked up my General Delivery mail today, after driving 30 miles to post office. I like to use smaller post offices because they tend to not lose things as easily as the big ones, but I found out that even though this one listed accepting general delivery on its web site, it no longer does so, but at least they had kept my package instead of sending it back to my son. whew.

I was going to go out tomorrow to visit a historical village, but decided I need to stay home and make some phone calls, as well as finish my tax forms. Also need to finish the report I have to send to SS each year for my aunt's SS money I spend, plus, I need to call SS about the money they want me to send them. Can't do it right now because checking account is locked, so want them to know they will have to wait. Several other calls I have been putting off, also, so need to get busy and get them done instead of more procrastinating! I'll do my sightseeing on Saturday.

Neck is a little red, but feeling much better today.

I didn't do much again. I had taken a package of stew meat out of the freezer so I browned it and put it in the slow cooker. I put a can of mushroom soup and a can of sliced mushrooms on it. It cooked all afternoon and was pretty good. I am trying to use up things that are about to go out of date. I had my doctor's appointment at 3:15 for the results of the scan on my neck in January. I had an appointment January 24th but the doctor was sick. They wanted to schedule a new appointment for March when I had reservations at a campout so they scheduled me for April. Anita, I think their whole office needs to take your course. lol I went on line to the portal and it didn't look like I had a problem to me so I didn't really need to see the doctor.

I picked up a few things at Walmart and got a can of gas for the mower.

The RV shop called and my motorhome is already ready. This should be good. I complained again about my air conditioner tripping the breaker in the summer. She said they would explain it to me when I pick up the motorhome. I want the damn thing fixed. The breaker box was getting too hot and the only way I could keep the air conditioner on was to open the metal door and put a small fan blowing on the breakers.

One of my clubs is having a campout at a casino for the Kentucky Derby . I'll see what they tell me about my motorhome and see if I want to make reservations. We had a campout for the Derby a couple of years ago. We all went to Goodwill and bought hats to wear. We have too much fun. lol

I hope that they actually fixed it and not just telling you how to jerry rig it .. having the breakers get hot doesn't sound good at all...
glad Beth that there wasn't a lot of damage... lets hope that as the stuff dries that there is no more damage...
happened to look at the weather and noticed that it was 56 wow got to be the hdy in SLC they would always say it was the Hottest Day of the Year when it exceeded the last high regardless if it was Jan or Aug...
I think I'm tired of wondering what to fix for a meal was semi alert trying to figure out supper had planned on hamburger soup but decided I don't have enough potatoes so was wondering what to make the thought came to me Hamburger Stroganoff made it have enough left to have over baked potatoes... think I will shove the meat in the freezer and will make the hamburger soup some time next week or perhaps Sunday had I thought about it might have cooked the meat up but without knowing for sure when I want to make it will play safe and put it in the freezer...
did get the clothes folded and put away watched a couple of pod castes
it's amazing how fast time can go by
sorry Anita that your family is having so much health problems .... cancer isn't a fun journey hoping he can get back on the treatment.... it sometimes feels like it's all over whelming
Barbie glad you are going to be able to see your Brother and Sister in law Tuscan right? you ought to go see the museum think it's name has changed but I'm sure it's still great perhaps you and Ava and Cheryl can meet up as well and perhaps Brenda if she is still in the same area...
I like a mixture of shows but mostly go for the crime drama type CSI, shows I can't recall the name of cause I haven't seen them in for ever... Blue Blood that is it ever 20/20 not too much into comedy usually too much innuendo... and right now of course it's Hallmark mystery
you all have a great day

Was supposed to be super windy all day but was just off and on breezy. I thought I could finish patching the deck in about a half hour today but things always take longer than you think.
I sanded the deck and found some places with cracks that I missed so had to go back over those, and fill in some other spots that weren't even. There is a front door on the front of the deck that I never use because the litter box is in that entrance area in the house (I just use the slider to the porch to get in). The small piece of plywood in front of it was in bad shape so I used wood glue to hold the little pieces of loose wood together, like I did at the top of the steps. Will put wood filler over that tomorrow if needed. There are still bits of carpet around the edges along the sides of the house that I tried to cut off with a box cutter, but my blade is dull and I couldn't figure out how to remove the blade and turn it around to the sharper side. Will have to see if I can find a guy around here and see if he can figure it out for me. So now I just have to do a few more things before I can start painting. I was fighting with the tube of wood filler again so I finally just cut off the bottom of the tube so it was easier to get it out. Made it much easier and faster to use.

We are under a high wind warning tonight thru tomorrow night. It is really howling out there now! I hear things banging around out there. Won't be able to paint until the winds die down on the weekend sometime. Don't want the dust and sand to make my deck textured when it hits wet paint! Luckily, no rain in the forecast for us, with this storm. Just wind.

My SIL has all sorts of plans for us when I get there! No lounging around for me! She loves arts and crafts, and museums. She wants to take me down to Tubac to see the art galleries and shops there. I know there is one that has gourd art by a well known gourd artist. Would like to see that. She also has a craft project she wants to work on with me.

Have a good night!

Oh, Barbie, your upcoming trip sounds like a lot of fun! Wish I could ride along!!

As most here know, my hobby/avocation is jewelry making of the bohemian/hippy type. The look I am always going for is "medium primitive" - not fancy like jewelry-store jewelry, but hand-made and kind of rough around the edges. It's my style!

I had run out of jewelry-making steam for several months, and didn't make anything at all - but now, with spring on the way, I think I have got my mojo back, and I have been making one or two pieces a week.

I love to look at hand-crafted jewelry, so I can well understand your excitement to see some interesting gourd art. If you are like me, nice work of others gives me inspiration to try new things.

Hope you have a great time, and I am sure all of us will be looking forward to your wonderful photos of the area you will be visiting, and your usual report!

Thanking you in advance, Barbie.

Have a safe trip!

My SIL is the only one in my family who loves arts/crafts and has encouraged my gourd art. One reason I want to re-establish a good relationship with them, besides spending more time with my disabled brother, is she and I get along so well and have a lot in common and she kind of "gets" me (if that is possible   ).

Once I get the deck finished, I want to get some of my gourd stuff out of storage and start working on it again. I put it all away a year and a half ago thinking I would sell the house right away and also because my work area can get pretty messy and didn't want that in the house for showings. For now, I want to just work on my wood burning technique to get comfortable with doing that, doing designs on the gourds. So that won't take up much space or make much of a mess. Once I get a decent handle on doing that, I want to work on doing carving on them. I haven't done that before other than in the class I took at the gourd festival a couple years ago. Both the woodburning and the carving are integral parts of good gourd art.

I really miss working on my gourds! Good luck, Anne with your new jewelry! Would love to see the new stuff!

Thanks for asking, Barbie. Here is one of my most recent pieces (this is a semi-transparent Moss Agate gemstone, wrapped with hammered copper wire):

For more photos of my items that have sold, check on my Etsy "store":

Barbie, once you get a few things made, I definitely think you should consider opening an Etsy "store" yourself. It is fairly easy to do, and the upfront-cost is very minimal (to list an item for sale in one's shop is a fast twenty cents!).

You could even make gourd art and have an Etsy store when you are on the road!
