I finally got my act together today and instead of watching TV and working on some small tasks, I got moving and drove to a local state park which is on the beach--John McArthur SP. Parked and took the shuttle over the boardwalk that goes over the lagoon and onto the beach. Mostly I just walked around and then sat on a bench without really getting onto the beach. There was a perfect breeze and sunny skies, so it felt good to just sit and watch the ocean. Spent about an hour and a half, and then headed to Trader Joe's to stock up on frozen stuff. I get really tired of eating my own cooking, and they have lots of good frozen things in single servings. Good thing I forgot their egg rolls, however, because I could barely stuff what I bought in the refrigerator and freezer!! I do like the little ice cream cones that are filled all the way to the bottom. They are very small, so just right for a quick ice cream snack. Will have to buy more next time because I have already eaten 2 out of the 9 in the package!!
Then home and got set up. I had been having problems backing into campsites recently because the mirror I had replaced several months ago, was loose and would not stay focused where I aimed it. I did not know it when I replaced it, but I really should have bought a new arm, as well as the mirror at the end, because it was cracked. I had taped it, but yesterday, I dripped some superglue into the cracks, and it is holding much better, so backing up is a lot easier! I use my backup camera, but mostly rely on my side mirrors.
Tomorrow will be cooler, as was today, so I am going for a walk on a little path I discovered. Last couple of nights and tonight are supposed to be in upper 50s, and with strong winds, the mosquitos have been reduced, so it feels safe to walk in the woods for a change. Been watching the several gopher tortoises that live in this very small campground, also. When they want to go somewhere, they can really move!
