Wonderful!!! Thank you. I agree with Diane #6 is definitely one to be framed. I think Pearl knew she was posing for a picture the look on her face is so adorable.

We started our Friday adventure by going to a lavender farm here on Kangaroo Island.

And in accordance with the plan of eating our way through Australia, we stopped in at the cafe on the farm.

Driving along the north shore we found a special entrance to a beautiful beach.

And there it was.

Everywhere you look there are beautiful beaches.

We continued driving west toward the far west coast and the Cape Borda Lightstation. The ocean below is the site of the shipwreck of the Fides in May 1860.

Lots of good things to see today and lots of driving. Tomorrow (Saturday) we’ll take the ferry back to Australia’s south coast. So far we haven’t figured out where we head next. To be continued. . . . . .

I thought I posted on this. Love everything. The pictures in the lavender fields are special. Well, all are special, but those I especially liked today.

Today is Sunday and we departed Kangaroo Island on the ferry. We then hit the road heading east which eventually will take us to Melbourne. We’ll depart from there Tuesday or Wednesday. One special place we visited on the way was the Umpersham Sinkhole. The park is the remnant of a 19th century sinkhole of which the garden was the focal point. The garden was developed by James Umpersham on part of his property. It was laid out in Victorian English tradition. However the current park has been developed by the city of Mount Gambier in accordance with Umpersham’s original intention to establish the sinkhole for the enjoyment of visitors and townspeople of Mount Gambier.

Mount Gambier also has “The Blue Lake” which is located in a dormant volcano. The description as to why it’s blue was hard to understand and just too technical for this post.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the unique beauty in the middle of this sinkhole in the town of Mount Gambier, Australia and also its beautiful blue lake.
