Today was Wednesday here and we did some sightseeing. Cape de Couidec has an important lighthouse needed for the safety of ships in a treacherous ocean. Building began on 1907 and was completed 1909. It still proudly still serves the same purpose to keep ships safe.

Perched above the sea in Flinders Chase National Park, the impressive “Remarkable Rocks” form what appear to be a cluster of precariously balanced granite boulders. This stunning work of nature has been shaped by the erosive forces of wind, sea spray and rain over some 500 million years.

We also did some walking along some paths in the park. There was a devastating fire in 2020 that affected much of Kangaroo Island. A lot of the vegetation is coming back but it will take time. Many of the famous eucalyptus trees were damaged. That’s all for today.

It’s now the end of Thursday for us and I have some cute pictures for you. We went to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park today. I had the most fun because I got to hold a koala compliments of my daughter and I’m very grateful. It was so fun to be so close to one of these gentle animals. Her name was Pearl. She was injured in the fire of 2020 and was rescued by the organization that now runs this wildlife park. She was about one year old during the time of the fire. She was burned on her left ear and the end section of the ear is now missing. Other than that she seems to be flourishing under their care and appears in wonderful shape. I had a hard time selecting which pictures to post because she’s so cute.

Sorry everyone. I don’t know why my post ended up posting 3 times. I asked Beth if she could delete two. If there’s only one when you read it, then you’ll know Beth already fixed it. If she hasn’t had a chance or it’s not possible, I’m so sorry.

You're down to one, but they are so adorable I didn't mind seeing multiples. :D

What a wonderful experience.
