Mornin' ~~~
Not much going on here in Tucson. A bit of rain yesterday. Did see Brenda this week. She's doing well. Joey's a little sweetheart and give lots of kisses. That's it from here. Have a good weekend ladies and happy Thanksgiving if I'm not back before then.

Good Morning from Vegas - will try this again, this will be third time - previous two disappeared. The big deal Formula 1 race is this weekend. Locals will be glad when it is done and they are gone. Road work in and around the Strip has been going on for six months. With roads closed, detours and traffic jams. Trees on Strip were cut down for bleachers that no one living here can afford. Having laugh, 10 minutes into last nights practice the road wrecked one of the cars...no more practice until sometime after midnight. All fans were sent home. More practice tonight at 8:30 - then qualifying sometime after that. Race is 10 o'clock at night. Then they say it will take about two months to get all the lighting and bleachers down - more road closing and detours. Locals are not happy, glad we don't have to go any where near the mess. Then the Super Bowl will be here. UGH.
We have some good news about Bill - our insurance has approved Vabysmo injection for his eye - sure hope it helps. He is also going to a different retina doctor for 2nd opinion. First of December.
Went to ear doctor earlier this week, no infection for damage to his ear. Doctor had him change his allergy nasal spray to help with the blocked/stuffy feeling and that worked. His hearing loss, except when I talk to him, is not bad enough for hearing aids yet. The Zyrtec is not working as well as it did in the beginning for the exhaustion from the long covid. But he is having more good days, but is getting bored and moody.
We have no plans for the winter - depends on how his eye reacts to new shot. By now we would usually be in Mazatlan. Seems strange to be home. I know there was something else I was going to say, but can't remember what Our son sent two of his ladies to clean our home yesterday. I had them do all the things that are getting harder for me to do. They probably thought I was weird. I guess he is going to send them every other week. Bless his heart - meant in the nicest way.
Last time we got gas it was 4.80 a gallon, now I see it at about 4.30. Hate going to grocery store and then having to self check...
Walked 4 miles on Wednesday. Paying for it still today.

Good afternoon Cheryl, Carol and all that check in!

Cheryl, it's good to hear from you! We miss Brenda but are happy that she has a place to winter where she doesn't have to travel as far as she did. Carol, that's great news about Bill. I hope the new eye Dr. is able to help Bill's vision improve. I can't even the mess in Vegas with the race and dismantling of the bleachers. Barbie, I hope you had good luck with the open house and made lots of sales at the yard sale. I've been taking magnesium supplements for a number of years for leg cramps and they have made a tremendous difference. Now instead of jumping out of bed 4 or 5 times a night trying to walk off cramps, I can sleep through the night. Karen, that was so nice of you to give the older couple your turkey. Now they may be having the Thanksgiving they wouldn't have had before.

We had rain all day yesterday and through most of the night and it has drizzled almost most of today. As of this morning, we had 3 inches of rain since yesterday. We just got back from taking a few hours trip traveling down roads we hadn't been on before. Although we've been here 3 years, it's amazing to find roads we didn't even know were here. We enjoy doing that. It's hard to believe we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving this coming week.

Enjoy your day!

TGIF everyone! Karen, great story about the turkey! It beats giving $ to a charity then getting hundred requests in the for ever.
Speaking of fleas…I live in flea heaven!!! Hen I got Hazel, I knew I had to give her ?something. My research led me to Simparica. So far I’ve been pleased.
My now deceased SIL used to send $ to several charities. You should see the requests I am now receiving in the mail for $$$$$. He has been gone for five years.
My new motto is “ from the mailbox to trash box”.
I’ve ordered items from the Blair catalog for years. I placed my last order with a woman who spoke with a very strong accent. Now the items have arrived and they are completely wrong! I will now return them and request a refund? What a nuisance!
Barbie, am keeping my fingers crossed for exciting news from you tomorrow!

Good morning!

Karen, what a great gift you gave that couple! Lyn, I get so disgusted with mail requests after I have donated, I look for other causes. The last few years I've donated to needy families in the school where my daughter works. Guess I better ask her about this year.

Just haven't had much oomph since Wednesday - no idea why. Just got an e-mail about my parking permit and daughter can finally do whatever they need done online! Anchorage grandson called, talked to my aunt in Kansas and shockingly, I had a phone conversation with LeRoy yesterday - those who know, know. It was nice to catch up.

One of my forms of entertainment at this time of year are all the people posting on a Leavenworth FB page who are coming to visit. Questions get repeated over and over. What should we do? Will there be snow? (That's my favorite). When will the lights be on? (several wrong answers given). Where can we find a place to stay that isn't expensive? (That's a real joke). We are coming by train can we walk to town/get an Uber? (No but there's an expensive taxi). I just refer them to the local Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Center. :D

Our gas is down to $3.69 and we think that is a bargain LOL I always get my gas at Costco, cheapest in town and very close to my house. Went to my eye doc this morning, had minimal fluid behind the eye to he said to go 6 weeks this time instead of 8. I am ok with that. Carol I lhink the Vabysmo is really helping. It wont restore vision, none of them will but hey if it just keeps it stable I am good with that. It is pricey but my insurance also approved it. I am on series 2 of 4 right now. Next visit I will be dialated UGH I hate that. Doc told me the older we get the longer it takes for the dilation to wear off...such great news...not. I bought a few things at Costco after my eye doc appt. Had to replenish my Magnesium and D3, Vitamins are not cheap but for me necessary.
Sun is shining and 56 outside. Going to have some lunch then see what I can get into today. I know I am making a pan of lasagna today to freeze, then it will be fish and a tater for dinner. Tomorrow will be my stif fry day and some laundry. Nothing much else on the agenda yet.
Good luck Barbie, hoping for that someone that falls in love with your place. Also hope you have good luck with your sale. Anita people are lazy, too lazy to look up their questions. I tend to be the research queen when I am going somewhere or just checking things out. I went once to Leavenworth and loved it. But some things are just one and done for me. As I get older I really find I do not like big crowds. I prefer to explore on my own with friends rather than be guided somewhere at a certain time. That was my gripe about the cruises I took. Offshore we only had X amount of time. I like exploring the culture instead of being dropped off in the middle of tourist shopping hell. I did love Sitka, that was the favorite part of my entire cruise. I dont like being at sea for 2 days..boring. I really am not a cruise kind of gal. Can you tell??? ha ha Ok off to rustle up some lunch

It has been overcast for the last week but the sun is out today and we are back to 85. I had to turn the air conditioner on. Yesterday when I went to town it misted on me the whole time I was out. Now I think we might have rain again on Sunday or Monday. We will take all we can get. I have some more stuff I want to burn.

Our gas has gone down too. Sunday when I was coming home I paid $2.85 at a Walmart. Guess it will be higher for the holiday, they usually jack the price up for holidays.

I get so much junk mail too. Next year I would like to keep all the mail about medicare when it's open enrollment time just to see how much I get. I was getting about 4 a day. When we got the new house we got a new house number so after 18 years I am still getting junk mail to the old address. Tomorrow is another election so today I am blocking text messages. Doesn't do much good, they just use another number.

Karen, I can believe it takes longer for the dilation to wear off. Don't try to drive at night. I still had trouble seeing after 6 hours.

Natchitoches, the town my last campout was in, has a big light and fireworks display for Christmas. Some of the women got to see it on Thursday night because they were testing it. The crowds are crazy the two weeks before Christmas. Natchitoches is built on Cane River and the lights are across the river from the downtown area. Cane River is not really a river, it's a cutoff of the Red River. I went to college in Natchitoches and they had the light back then but the crowds weren't like they are now and we had to sit on the bank. Now it's all paved.

I'm not a cruise person either. I feel like a caged animal. It seems like some of my camping group are on a cruise every month. The cheaper cruises in the Gulf always go to the same places so I don't see the attraction. My second cruise stopped at Jamaica and I would not get off the boat there again.

Sheila, I don't know what you could serve with a Jambalaya. Maybe a salad or a green vegetable and a bread. I never make Jambalaya or order it, too much rice for me.

Martha on one of my cruises we went to Jamaica too. Got off the boat went into town and was constantly accosted by BIG tall men 3-4 at a time trying to sell us stuff, very intimidating and the stuff they were selling was porno at best. We left and got back on the boat, I would never go there again!!! And nope, no cruises in my future, and I know people love them. The food was very good tho I must say and the evening entertainment was fun.
Tomorrow I go get my donuts LOL Sunday will be my day of rest ha ha and Monday I go get my RSV vaccine. Such busy stuff. We havent had any rain for a few days but has been cool and cloudy and of course fog in the morning. Today we had blue sky and sun with some clouds. I love it when we get a few days of sunshine in between rain showers Supposed to rain on Sunday but as usual we shall see. I didnt get dilated today whew next visit I do. I dont drive at night anymore anyway, just dont see that well in the dark so just keep my butt home. I think that is one of the reasons I hate this time change. Not that I go out much at night but now I cannot so there is that. I put my phone on Do Not Disturb except for contacts. That works pretty well this time of year. Voicemails will still be available so that works for me. Now time to see what is on the tube.

I spent several hours today with one of my cousins and her niece, who is the daughter of another of my cousins! I spent most of the time explaining a lot of stuff about why her Ancestry DNA test did not show any Greek ancestry, even though she is 1/8th Greek. She is also one of the many, many people who get the DNA test but don't have a family tree with more than 3-4 people, and who do not link it. I have not put her on my tree, but think I will as Private, so she will get better information. Also spent a ton of time showing them through my family tree.

On my mother's side, I have 26 first cousins because my grandmother had 11 living children. Obviously, I had a ton of aunts and uncles growing up, though they are all gone. Many of my cousins have moved away and do not keep in touch, but I still have four and their spouses in Florida. They are all at least ten years younger than me, but all lived next door to me or next door to our cottage as I was growing up. (I was #6 out of the 26.) My parents were also especially close to their parents. One thing we talked about is how we also had a bunch of great aunts and uncles that did not live very far from us, but who we never met. Nor, did our parents ever meet them. Have no idea why, but I think most of us thought that all of our other relatives lived in Canada, but we found a lot of them in Michigan. Strange. Anyway, I had not seen this cousin for 4 years. Will be seeing her brother and his wife and them all for Thanksgiving.

I paid $3.11 for gas yesterday, but saw it for $2.96. Still working on my refrigerator door, and have not started to try to attach my mirror. I need to take old wooden panel off the old door and put it on new one before i install the new door. Refrig and freezer are still working, but I cannot open refrigerator door or it will fall off, so it is taped in place. Almost all food is in cooler with ice.

Good evening gals!

Got up early this morning to get everything in order. My agent was supposed to be here at 7 but didn't show up until almost 8. I about died when I saw what he brought! His wife baked about 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies! He also brought 2 jumbo boxes of mini cream puffs from Costco! :o And then there were the 8 large bottles of premixed margaritas in different flavors! He ended up not opening 4 of them. The other 4 were about half full at noon. Most people just wanted a small cup of it since it was early in the day.

Weather was perfect and I had put the signs out early. We had a traffic jam most of the morning with golf carts and bikes showing up! Once word got around that we were serving margaritas, we had a ton of people here! My agent just took care of the bartending duties, and I was the tour guide for the house! I think I had about 30 people come thru the house! Most were just curious and some were interested. No offers but with word of mouth, we might get some calls soon, I hope! I didn't sell a whole lot, just a few smaller things, but I was happy with the turnout for the open house. The people who looked at it sounded pretty impressed with the layout and updates. Fingers crossed!

Now I have about 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies left to eat and give away! Also a few dozen cream puffs! I brought over a baggie of each to my next door neighbor tonight. Will bring some to work on Sunday too.

I am exhausted tonight. I have one TV show I want to watch tonight and then off to bed early! I can sleep in tomorrow! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I'm glad a lot came through. Hopefully one comes back with an offer, but just getting the word around will bring more people, too. Sounds like a successful open house.

I liked the couple cruises I took but I had been told in advance from friends if I got off to do our own thing and just know when we needed to be back. That worked for me. And in Alaska I learned I didn't enjoy the cruise ship ports unless I was there when the ships weren't lol. And I learned about how many of the toys are out together just for the cruise ships and not necessarily the best. Kind of like RV caravans.... Nope, not for me. For various reasons.

Karen, I took the ferry part way back with 3 stops on my first Alaska trip. Sitka was one of the stops my RV and I got off at, I to, liked Sitka.

I'm so glad I have my mail service set to discard junk mail. That includes solicitations if they are obvious. I don't think I get much anymore since I do almost everything online and opt out of mail from any places that gives me that option. Some months I waste money to have my mail forwarded lol.

Cheryl, always good to see you here. Irmi, I miss Brenda, too. I tried to talk her into coming to the park I'm at in Texas a couple years ago and she thought about it, but I think she's made that Arizona park her winter home. I workamped there two different years, before she ever went there.

Carol, fingers crossed for Bill and these treatments.

Barbie it sounds like a really successful day even though no offer's word of month will help and some might give it another thought... and the cookies and cream puffs didn't hurt enjoy them although it's too bad that more stuff didn't sell it sounds like your hands were full with other stuff... and another time they might...
I've only been on one cruise and did enjoy it... I was with some of my kids... that helped lots in doing things... even when we were at sea we found things to do... I even spent some time coloring was coloring away and looked up and my son was there we had a few moments of one on one time that was nice... I too liked Sitka I would go on another cruise Chris (Red) was on a lake cruise last summer I think it was out in the great lakes I think it was a first but not sure about that it sounded nice I think I would like that as well and would love a river cruise...
It's always fun Irmi to take a road you haven't been on.... my #3 dd loves to do that... as did her dad
noticed that regular gas was just under 4.00 of course I don't use that nor do I use diesel... not sure if it got moved or not but my 5th wheel is going to a new storage area at my dd's it probably was ok were it was but as dd said it will be easier to get something out if needed like my sewing machine  unfortunately one thing I would really like is my nativity set but it's in the bottom drawer which means the with the slide in it can't be accessed and if the batteries are out which they will be then the slide can't be put out to get to them.... have missed my set... :(
I will read comments on something that a person as asked and wonder didn't they read the comments the question as been answered more than once... I would like to Levenworth in it's winter glory
you all have a great day
