Ken Burns' new documentary "The American Buffalo"

Looking for something actually interesting and informative to watch on tv?

I just finished watching (on PBS) the latest offering of documentarian Ken Burns, "The American Buffalo". All four hours of it - it is presented in two, two-hour segments, Part 1 "Blood Memory", Part 2 "Into the Storm".

It appears that you can actually watch it online (at least for now), on your computer (I watched it on my tv with my Roku):

And. . . Wow. Just Wow.

I was familiar with much of what was presented here, as I have had a long-standing interest in the early American West and in the story of the buffalo itself (more properly called American Bison).

But there was also a lot presented here that I didn't know.'

As in all of Mr. Burns' documentaries, the narration, the images and the stories presented are all 100% first rate.

I can't recommend this program highly enough. Mr. Burns is truly at the top of his game. Be sure to watch it while it is still available for free.

A small word of warning, however: I was literally in tears by the end.

We watched it a few nights ago and need to watch part 2. It was very good.
