Sunny Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Monday

Made more jam last night, so check my comments in the recipes section.

Today, I am going to work on my sand collection project. I have been collecting sand from all over and have put it in jars, but the handles on the jars rusted, so I am going to replace them. Last Christmas, I got a spice rack and a bunch of new jars from my California son, but have not gotten around to transferring the sand and hanging the rack.

Otherwise, I am just watching TV and reading today!! Tomorrow I drive to Fort CLinch.

I could easily have left today if my mail had arrived. It says out for delivery and it's that time of day for mail delivery so hoping it'll arrive. Started this a couple hours ago and got interrupted. My mail is here! I did laundry, dumped, hooked up the car, etc this morning. So it'll be a breeze whatever time I pull out. I was supposed to sit down with the GM this morning but he was called away, so since I won't be in a hurry tomorrow, I'll probably try before leaving.

Good afternoon. Cloudy and off and on rain today. I have been looking at recipes for something different to make. I spent too much time looking at the desert sections so had to get out of there. Found a few good dips and appetizers that I might like to try. For the dinner menus most are just variations of the usual stuff with different sauces and spices. I am not a fancy cook but I do like variation. Tonight is acorn squash and maybe a salmon patty. I do have a cooked pork chop I can thaw and heat but I am just not feeling it at the moment ha ha Will poke around in my freezer and see what I really should fix to go with my squash. I am trying to whittle down the stuff in my freezer and my salmon is in a can so I might have to rethink that one.
Beth have a good trip and glad you got your glasses before you left. Judy is busy making jam. I like jam but only occasionally, especially if I am eating breakfast out. But it would take me months or years to eat the jam you make ha ha I still have half a jar of raspberry jam in my fridge for ages.
Well time to put stuff away and just relax now.

Karen, I purchased apple butter when at the apple orchards. It'll last me forever, or until it goes bad. Lol

I guess I go in spells with jam/jelly right now it's not high on the list for some reason when I do have a peanut butter sandwich I've wanted honey... go figure...
my grandaughter's birthday was last week and she wanted I think it was chicken gravy or potatoes... basically some chicken 2 pkgs. chicken gravy and cream of chicken 2 cans I think in a slow cooker... I think she put an extra can of soup in it which is why I'm not certain of the amount of soup... so it was a bit soupier than perhaps it needed to be... shred or cut up and served over mashed potatoes it was really good....so tonight I did get the pork loin cooked shredded up some of it and put it into gravy over mashed potatoes mom actually ate some of it... actually more than I thought she would and she ate some carrots a big win for me...
I did all that I was going to do today bank groceries (needed to get stuff for tomorrow pot luck) pork loin cooked and cranberry sauce made also got the front seat cleaned out so there will be room for mom
safe trails tomorrow Beth... bet the GM wants you to consider coming back next year
sounds like a good down day Judy...
my package came but haven't opened it yet... could have made the salad I wanted to make but wasn't sure when I went to the store... so didn't get the ingredients... but it will appear one day soon... I think I will go put one of those bottles of 3 bean salad in the fridge might take that as well tomorrow bought it at Costco so larger than I want to tackle on my own...
we also haven't heard from Shirl in awhile...
saw a thing on the weather channel on the phone... about a pumpkin patch in I think San Jose 30 miles south of it... says it's a pumpkin patch with a side o dinosaur the video that they showed looked so cool...
you all have a great day
please check in Shirl and Lyn

I am a strawberry preserves gal. I like the little chunks of fruit in it.

Sheila, did you know that Campbells now offers Cream of Chicken And Mushroom soup combination? I really like that one a lot for casseroles.

Nothing happened here today... :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
