Wednesdsy Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesdsy Morning

Morning all. Just sitting here perusing FB and thought I would pop in her. Molly and I have to leave for her vet appt. About 40 miles west, n about an hour, so can’t get into anything. It’s cloudy and supposed to rain later. Am hoping maybe not till we get back later this afternoon. Got leaves that I would like to clean up. Supposed to rain tomorrow and then isolated for Friday and Saturday. Strong cold front coming in, driving temps into 40’s for highs, maybe 50 by weekend. It’s been in the mid 80’s past couple days. Way too hot for this time of year. Have broken records the past two days. Supposed to be 80 today, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen with the cloud cover. Even th U.P. was breaking heat records.

The dogs and I spent the day driving around part of the U.P. No fall color in some areas yet, spotty in some and pretty in a few. Went to Taquahmenon Falls and then moseyed home, stopping at the Drive In again and took it back over the bridge and had a picnic at the park. Dogs enjoyed all the sniffs and wades in the water over the course of our travels and stops. Was too warm up at the falls though. But it was a fun day. 316 miles driving around and to and from home. Will probably go back over the bridge again before Winter sets in. We are due for a fall color explosion around here within this next week. Some places getting pretty already. Mght see some on the drive today. The hot weather can delay fall color cause it confuses the trees.

Otherwise just been busy running errands and vacuming up leaves from the two trees that have turned color and are now dropping them.

But I better go have a bite of lunch before we leave. Have a nice day.

Good morning Sue! The leaves will change quickly with the colder weather. Another trip up north will be worth it in a the next couple weeks!

We don't get much, if any, color out here. In San Diego, there were a few small trees that are planted in parking lots or peoples yards that turned red and/or orange, but no native trees. We do have a lot more flowering trees and bushes tho. I do miss the fall colors here.

Hanging out in bed with Sophie this morning. She is so loving and affectionate. :D Had the windows open last night but it never got real cool so I have the AC on again.

Need to take the trash to the dumpster and go to the office to find out about the Spectrum thing, before heading to work for the afternoon.

Sure glad I noticed the tire yesterday instead of heading to work today and getting a flat!

Haven't heard from Lyn in awhile...Lyn, is everything OK over there??

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi Sue, Barbie & all!

Sue, I'm glad you had the chance to ride around enjoying the fall foliage. Like Barbie, there's none of that going on here in FL and I do miss the fall colors. But I don't miss the cold and winds. I am grateful that we left there for warmer climates.

Barbie, I hope you have a good day at work without any drama.

The temperatures are dropping here in central FL and waking up to the low 70's and topping off in the mid 80's. Wish these winds would calm down.

We were going to go to a garden center over 100 miles from here tomorrow but there is a meeting at the clubhouse we should attend, so we'll go to the garden center on Friday. Crab cakes are on the menu for dinner this evening. We sure miss the steamed crab feasts in MD so this is the next best thing.

I agree, it's been a while since we've heard from Lyn and Shirl, too. She made be moving. And Pat. I hope her sister has moved home.

Afternoon all. Not much going on here this morning, just the usual housekeeping chores. I started a small project so did not get outside today. I will tomorrow tho because I have some yard debri to put in my garbage as it comes on Friday. I dont have much garbage so it will fit nicely. I will go out and wash my car after while. It isnt dirty just very dusty but you cant just hose it off or I end up with spots everywhere. This color shows them up wonderfully.....not.

Crockpot is humming and need to put the carrots and potatoes in so they have time to cook for dinner. Now time for a blended mocha before I head out to wash the car.

Ty and I are home. It was a great visit with my sis and bil. I don't go to work until 2 tomorrow, so I'll do laundry, at least a load of it, in the morning, or I won't have any work clothes.

I was too early for much color. Just saw a little here and there. Also some is turning directly to brown as it's still been too dry there. Maybe a week later don't this trip is have seen more color but these days worked for us and we hoped!

Irmi, seeing friends definitely takes priority over that long trip to a garden center, at least most of the time

It's a 76 degree afternoon but windy so I'm tackling chores. 79 degrees tomorrow and no wind - fingers crossed. Monica's having issues with soccer moms so probably best I don't go to a game and sit among them.

Sue, your FB photos were wonderful! So many places I'd like to go back to. Dogs being allowed to bark or be off leash is so rude! Beth, so glad you had a good visit and are home. Sheila, you really threw my day off with your early post - I had to go take a nap!

I haven't been sure what the manager situation here is of late. Realized the person I did see occasionally from a distance looked familiar - she was the lease agent at the last apartment! I saw she was in the office, so I went over, and boy did I hear a bunch about the last place. I tried not to do this, but I asked her what could be done about the excessive noise upstairs. A plan has been made.

Anita, I agree about the barking dogs. Especially in this case where she's here probably 1/2 the year or more. She needs to train them. Every time Ty and I go to a new park, I spend time reorienting him. And I'm not adverse to the collar that just vibrates if barking when he needs it for a short time.

And Anita, I'm looking forward to the rest of the story about upstairs neighbors. Maybe suggest a collar for them lolol

Beth collars for all LOL LOL great idea. I am not opposed to them either if needed. Fortunately my dog has little "wuff wuffs and a low growl occasionally". She is just not a barker OR a guard dog. In fact she thinks she is the official greeter no matter whom comes to my door. So no hope there. Glad you had a good visit with your sis. Not much color here either, tho we are in the land of evergreens but still usually have some yellows and oranges dotting the hills.
Washed my car, dried it and now I am ready for some dinner, sure smells good.

Couldn't they try some version of the COVID trick to get rid of the barking dogs? My memory is failing me, but who was it who caused a couple of bad RV park people to pack up and leave overnight because they thought she had COVID??? Maybe bedbugs or something else would work as well???

Did a lot of little projects today to catch up on some much-needed cleaning and maintenance. (I will not tell you where I found a cache of dead moths from last May, but I did get out my canister vac and got rid of them.) Checked radiator fluid and added a bit. Took trash out. Cleaned out old food in refrigerator. Called hospice nurse with questions about aunt. Paid for an online magazine subscription because old visa card had expired. Etc. Etc. I got a lot done because I had made a list--don't get anything done if I do not because my lack of memory is directly proportional to the unpleasantness of the task.

I let my tire minder run to identify which tires are low when cold. So, tomorrow will try to add air to two of the three. (Third one is on wrong side of RV because it is against a hill, and I can't put my stool there. Will do that next week when I move to a different site.) Also hoping to wash rear bumper and get it ready to pain. Ditto for drivers and passengers step on cab. Friday, I have to go back to dementia home to see aunt again, but this time will go and return earlier so as to miss heavy traffic.
