Was kind of a frustrating day...
I had the windows open all night and enjoyed the cool breeze and then the birds singing this morning...and then the yappy little dogs across the street going crazy!!
Yep, they are back! The lady with 4 dogs that sound like 10!
So, it was time to get up after that.
Wasn't too motivated to begin with so I took a walk to the mailbox and back. I was planning to go further but it was already getting hot, pushing 90 already. The heat is back for awhile.
Then stopped to chat with my neighbor before figuring out what little projects and things to work on. Got the dishwasher loaded and turned that on. Then glued on a piece of wood trim that came off a cabinet in my living room. I had bought some caulking to caulk some small cracks in the side of the house in back. I was trying to use it without a gun and got a little bit out, but then the sprinklers came on and I had to run back inside! Went to get a caulking gun from Dave and went out later to finish that job. Then started getting the trash together to take to the dumpster. I decided to clean out my car some since I think I lost my glasses somewhere in my car on my trip to Idyllwild last week. I cleaned out the trash and bottles but no glasses to be found
. While I was doing that, I noticed my back passenger tire was very low! So I drove carefully about a mile to the tire place I go to. I had called ahead of time to check to see how busy they were and was told to just come on in. Well, when I got there, it was over an hour wait! I didn't want to leave since I didn't want to drive on that low tire, so I decided to wait. There is an RV dealer down the street so I walked down there and a salesman showed me a bunch of trailers. They only sell trailers and 5th wheels but just to kill time, I told him I was looking for a trailer. Was interesting to see what the different layouts were but I still don't want to pull a trailer again. I was there for about an hour and then walked back to the tire shop. I sat and waited for another hour. Finally, I went up to the desk to see how much longer it would be. The guy handed me the keys and said it was all set. So how long had my car been done before I asked about it?? They knew I was sitting there waiting but never told me it was ready.
But, I can't look a gift horse in the mouth because they fixed my tire for no charge. When I looked at the tire just after I got there, I saw a large nail in it. So I guess I should be happy it got fixed and I didn't have to bleed out any more money this week!
Oh, then tonight I remembered that we were supposed to get our Spectrum upgrade for extended cable, sports channel plus some other things included starting October 1st. Was told we would be notified about the specific changes and what we needed to do, etc, before then. Well, I haven't heard anything yet so I posted on our FB page asking if anyone has heard anything yet. Apparently, everyone (but me) got an email a week ago explaining the whole new program and what we need to do to get set up. I checked my junk mail and my deleted mail and didn't find anything. So I will have to go to the office tomorrow and find out how to get the info I need.
So that was my day! Still got my dishes (clean) in the dishwasher, still got the bags of trash and water bottles in the porch to take to the dumpster. Too tired tonight to do anything with them. Tomorrow... I don't work until 1pm.
Got the AC back on today and for tonight. Maybe it will drown out the incessant barking from across the street. The cool air was nice while it lasted, but it will be back. The snowbirds are starting to trickle back in. It will get busy by the end of the month. The golf course (and everything else) officially opens on Nov 4th.
I did make a yummy grilled cheese sandwich for lunch! And I cleaned under the couch and found at least 6 toy mice and a plastic ball under there! Was wondering where they all went! I need to get a pool noodle to put under the front of the couch to block it off from the mice and other toys.
OK, I am going to get my crabby, tired self ready for bed! Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.
