I managed to stay awake too day rabbits. Now to bed to hopefully get up early for my drive to Wisconsin to visit my sis and bil for a few days.

Birdie, it was great to hear from you. I'm glad it wasn't worse at your place. And I feel for everyone there.

Good morning, and it is darn cold here this morning. 39/60 Yup fall is here at my house apparently. Supposed to have some warm days later this week, hope so, I just want to get my garden area cleaned up and semi ready for next year. So I am in my happy place: sweatshirt, heavy sweat pants,, socks. LOL I did turn my heat on for a bit. It was only 62 in here but it is toasty now at 64 and my heated throw ha ha
Sheila glad you are having a good time visiting with all your relatives. I would have to rent relatives to have a GTG like you have had hah Very few left in my family. I used to go to Canada and visit occasionally but they have all died off now so I have no real reason to go up there any more.
No rain here today predicted, right now kind of foggy but think we will see some sun. Not sure what I will do today.........hey maybe nothing who knows. Beth have a good trip, enjoy your visit. Barbie I love the Big Bear and Mammoth ski area I have not been there for years, have no real reason to go to that part of California. I prefer shorter road trips, than that would be. I like 4 hours within my area. I did not used to be like that, but times change. I didnt mind so much in the Motorhome but in a car is different. I still like road trips just not marathon ones. Ahhh the joys of getting older. Time for my second cup of coffee then see what I can figure out to do.

Good mornin' ladies and all that follow~~~

I did remember Rabbits! today around 5 a.m. Hate those early morning potty breaks :-(

I know I missed last month's rollcall, but I have been reading. No clue where I was located at my last check-in, but in the last 6 or so weeks I've been in Sheridan and Devils Tower, WY, North Dakota (finally made it Teddy Roosevelt NP to see the wild horses), Rapid City, SD, Casper, WY, Ft Collins (finally got to Rocky Mountain NP too), Colo Springs and currently in Pueblo, CO). It going to be a couple weeks of cold nights, but low 70's days, when I leave here before I head south. I'm determined to get to Grand Mesa and Monument Valley this trip. I missed going to Black Canyon of Gunnison because I was not up to traffic, construction and elevation gain on I-70 through the mountains.

I've missed commenting on so much but still sending prayers to Sharon's GD (stay strong with Buddy, his brain just hasn't grown up yet), condolences to Lyn on her loss. Was nice to see Birdie post. Best of luck to her and Liz with their continued clean up efforts.

That's all I can remember. Have a colorful October. With the winds today here in Pueblo, a lot of the color from the aspens may blow away today, but it's been pretty seeing some Fall colors again.

Back from church, bit of shopping and just had lunch. Getting ready to head out to entrance and do an outfit change on the kids as I call them. Should give them names but haven’t wrapped my brain around that.

Been raining here all morning, so everything’s wet out there. Supposed to have a warm up starting today, I to upper 70’s low 80’s. Above normal for this time of year. Will slow progression of fall colors a bit.

Did get baggers on tractor and cleaned up leaves yesterday. Have a mess of thrm in drive from one tree agsin, thanks to rain. Irmi, saw your comment about the tall trees around my house. There are so many, I would have to clear them about 300 feet back all the way around  Not gonna happen. Just trimmed up one yesterday by garage.

Karen, like you, I’ve gotten to where I don’t want to go long distances anymore either. Although I do want to go up into UP and do some driving around to look at color. Maybe 2-3 hours from home. Tossing around going up for a couple two or Bree days, but can’t till the 10th at the earliest. Birdie, so nice to see your post. Think about you all the time. Glad you survived the hurricane unscathed. Beth, safe travels and an enjoyable visit.

Timeto get those outfits up from the basement and get them in. Think I will work on the ones I have cut out. Need a bit of Sanding, then I can primer them.

Good afternoon. Looking like a nice sunny day today and for the next several days with warmer temperatures. The fog this morning was so thick I couldn’t see very far out my front windows. Cleared up now and temp going up! Leaves are continuing to fall but very little color here in town. Yesterday when we went for Buddy’s favorite place to walk it was lovely to walk under the changing colors. Amazing how just a couple of miles out of town can change the whole picture. Cheryl, I was thinking the other day about your comment about visiting the animal shelter when we were seeing the sights. If it hadn’t been so soon after losing Rascal I might have done it and saved myself all this aggravation or maybe it could have been worst! But appreciate your comment about his brain! Darn dog is so smart and he sure knows what buttons to push with me! I just keep telling myself he’ll grow out of the stage and I’ll look back on it fondly! Maybe!!! One good thing is that he gets me out and walking almost everyday! Hunting season has started so I probably need to dig out the orange jacket I know I still have somewhere for him. The spot we walk is state game land so there is a chance of hunters to be out there. Think it’s archery season for deer right now. Good that son is a hunter and he keeps me updated since I normally don’t pay much attention. Birdie, was good to hear from you. Glad kitties are safe. Beth, all ready to hit the road? Goodness, lots of traveling right now. I was visiting with my neighbors yesterday and got caught up on their news. They have a really nice garden on the side lot next to their house. Was fun to watch it this summer. Since they tore out the old house it has really turned into a nice green space. Well, I need to get back outside and work on the leaves that have fallen. I probably won’t be able to keep up with it all before long but will do what I can for now! I actually did say rabbits a bit after midnight! Hopefully it’ll help! Have a good day and do something that gives you joy.

I made it to my sister's and got talked into coming with to a celebration of life with a tree planting at a local historical site. I know no one and didn't know the person being celebrated, so after about 5 explanations of who I am, Ty and I have wandered away and ate sitting on a bench bagging on the sun (which is really hot today - 88 right now and muggy). Tomorrow we'll drive around to some places I want to see again, have lunch and go check out the apples at the markets in Gays Mills. Maybe I'll bring a pie home with me. :D

Fun to read everyone's posts and Cheryl it's good to see you're making it to lots of the places you couldn't get to the last few years. I probably have lots of distant relatives, but nothing like the numbers of closer ones Sheila has.

Happy October!

Since I set an alarm, I remembered Rabbits. :)

Birdie, great to see your post but sorry for all the mess you all are having to clean up. Beth, glad you have arrived safely. Sheila, I'm just so happy you've had this get away and great visits. Cheryl, you have covered a lot of miles and seen some great sights!

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day and, like Karen, we have some 70-degree weather this week - road construction should be mostly done so time to get a ride or two in. Martha was right on when she said I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth - upstairs noise came back at 10:30 Friday night! My office/work room is now called the hide out! :) Monica asked yesterday if I wanted to run errands with her. It's always good to get to spend time with her! We went to WinCo Foods and while she ran an errand, I found a bathrobe at Penney's. Not my size and $50 - came home and ordered online for much less!

My sister called at 11:45 last night and talked to me for an hour so I didn't remember rabbits. Anyone that knows my sister knows what I mean when I say she talked to me. They just found out her middle son has lupus. He has had diabetes for a while and didn't take care of himself so he is in bad shape.

Birdie, it was good to see you post. So glad your house survived the hurricane. Recovery from a hurricane takes a long time between the insurance, the government and the contractors that double their prices because they can get away with it. I have a roast in the freezer just waiting for someone to show up.

I have seen a coyote on my camera several times so I am making all the cats I can catch come in at night and boy, do they hate that. They are use to coming in and out when they want.

Judy, your son's cat probably thought you were up to no good. lol People can spend the night here and never see Annie. She can tell when a stranger comes up the steps and she is gone.

Yesterday I went to the Chevrolet dealer in Lafayette to look at Equinoxes. They don't have much of a selection. I'm not sure I can get one with what I want on it. The model I like the most has the rack like things on the roof. I know from experience that they can hold water and make the roof rust. I also don't want a sunroof. Who ever thought that was a good idea. I went to one of my favorite restaurants and had pecan crusted chicken over angel hair pasta. So good. I brought a pizza home so I had pizza for lunch.

Anita, sorry your noise is back. Beth, glad you made it to your sister's.

It was so nice when I went out early. There was a nice breeze. Now it's 96. I can remember when there have been cold fronts in October and it was very cold. Don't see one of those in sight. One of the storms recently twisted a big branch in the tree in the front yard. It fell out last night and I'm glad. I was a little afraid to mow under the tree with that limb just hanging there. I finally got my saw so need to charge the battery and see if I can cut up the limb.

Cheryl, I'm really enjoying your pictures. I made it to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison on our trip out West. About all I remember is going up a mountain at about 15 mph. I had a CB back then and someone behind me ask if I was having trouble. I felt like telling him to push.

Someone is suppose to call me tomorrow about the bathroom floor. I don't know if he is just going to call or call and come by. I probably need to clean the bathroom and move some stuff.

Martha, most cats I have known would just do the hide and ignore thing, but this one is funny because she is definitely interested in me, and once in a great while she will even let me pet her--assuming I have been in the house for a few days. But mostly, she just likes to follow me around at a distance. Never gets closer than 10-15' however.

Nice to hear from everyone--please do post more often, all of you who we don't hear from regularly.

I drove from Oak Ridge, TN, to Lake Lanier, which is northeast of Atlanta, today. I made the mistake of letting my GPS suggest a "short cut" which was not short and full of narrow roads and no shoulders. After a few miles, I took my own route and got back on I-75 but freeway closer to Atlanta was horrible!! Luckily, I will not have to get on it to visit my aunt this week.

Anyway, about halfway to Lake Lanier, I was getting back on the freeway and had just pulled over into the left turn lane, waiting for the light to change, when I heard a loud bang! It took me a couple of seconds to realize that a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer, and driving fairly fast, had hit my passenger's side mirror with his mirror. And he was gone before I had a chance to even see what the truck looked like or get any details. Anyway, I had no choice but to make the turn, but then I stopped on the side of the ramp to see what the damage was, and the mirror was cracked and loose with the inside part that allows it to be adjusted broken, but I was not in a safe place, so I drove a few miles to a rest area, and got out the duck tape. Got someone to tape it in place so I could at least see partly out of it while I was sitting in the drivers seat. Managed to drive here, but really will need to call Ford dealers tomorrow to have someone look at it and determine if they have the part or have to order it.

DARN!!! Like I need another repair. I have a high deductible, so doubt if I will turn it in to insurance. At least I will be here for two weeks and hopefully can get it fixed.
