And now it’s Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And now it’s Friday

A cheery Good Morning to you all. Cloudy and 46°. Looking at about 74 todsy. So, O’Sharon, some chilly nights, but mild days will be heading your way. You were wondering if you should cover Lola. I would, less you think you will really go someplace. Otherwise you will Wind up having to clean leaves off and if she’s nice and dry, great time to do it. One more chore out of your way :)

My days plans got a bit changed yesterday. Was going to retrace and cut out that pattern from my goof the other day as well as another I had on the board, and then mount the bagger system on my tractor. I had just gotten dressed, when the guys from the Tree Service came driving up to take down the big tree in back of garage. So they we’re here till a bit after noon. Also had them trim up a few trees n my front yard where the limbs were starting to hang a bit low. Really looks nice. But I did get the patterns done and then also did some tree trimming of my own on a couple trees where I have to duck when mowing. Those I can reach from the ground. Got a small pile to move to back debris pile. That tree they took down was a biggie, you can see where he’s headed high up, finishing the upper limb removal.

So this morning, I am heading to town and then will pick up my branch pile, attach the baggers and pick up the leaves that are down. At least that’s the plan. Tree guys will be back as I have the skidsteer and chipper parked here in my yard. They have a job across the road here.

So best get moving before they get here. Have a nice day out there. Velda, I too have been thinking of you. Sorry about the diagnosis, but keep the faith. You never know what medical science me might come up with. Will keep you in my prayers.

Good morning Sue and any who follow. It is cloudy and more rain expected today 52/65 so actually my kind of weather LOL That was quite a tree job you accomplished, always good to keep our houses as safe as we can.
Velda sorry you are having so many residual problems. I consider myself lucky that I finally returned to normal (well we know that is relative LOL) I am not getting the Covid vaccine. I will get my flu shot and RSV but that is it. I have no idea if the Covid vaccine caused any or all my problems so will just be mindful like I was anyway and still got so darn sick for so long. Personal choice for sure.
Martha so sorry your son is having so many back problems, those are one of the worst to treat and diagnose. With the new drug rules out (ya know for the regular people who DO NOT abuse them) doctors are under a microscope for over prescribing. Heard that a few of the pharmacies are now taking your picture when you pick up your prescription. It must match your picture ID. I guess that might help but like I said, it is not the people who need it legitimally. I picked up prescriptions for my friend Malia and I only had to show my ID. She had some powerful drugs too.

I need to finish working in my office I have more stuff to file and shred so want to do it before the pile gets too big, Going to do a load of laundry and wash down my kitchen cabinets today. Other than that not too sure what else I will get into.
I had trouble going to sleep last night not sure why....but fell asleep about 11 and woke up at 6:30 so still had 6 1/2 hours of good sleep so not complaining.
Off to get some breakfast and get busy this morning.

Good morning Sue, Karen, and all who follow from rainy chilly Connecticut… I just made myself a cup of hot chocolate using the recipe that Shirl posted quite awhile back. Quick to make in the microwave and much better than Swiss Miss…
Sue, tree removal will use up all your “fun” money for a time. I had two huge Eastern cottonwoods removed 9 years ago, so no trips that year…. Enjoy your day, everybody. Peggy

Thank you for posting this, Karen. I agree with you.

For those here who might remember, I was one of those early-on doing the cheerleader "rah-rah-rah" thing here on the Forum, impatient to be vaccinated, concerned that the vaccine was not coming quickly enough.

And, yes, I agree that "to-vaccinate-or-not-to-vaccinate" is becoming a personal choice.

Although I am not ready to discuss details, I am here to state - unequivocally - that I will not be receiving any further Covid-19 vaccinations (have had the original and two boosters). Nor likely any further flu vaccines, although I was always one who made sure to get the annual flu vaccine for many years.

I probably will get vaccines like tetanus, but I will be very selective of any vaccines going forward. And, yes, I continue to wear an N-95 mask whenever I go out. And I go out seldom these days, and I am usually the only masked individual in sight. I will probably wear a bothersome and uncomfortable N-95 mask when out and about for the foreseeable future. Likely for the rest of my days.

And, yes, I do know and agree that a mask does not give 100% protection. But a well-fitted N-95 is at least some small kind of barrier against inhaling a face full of someone else's droplets.

For those of you considering further vaccines, I would only advise you to do your own careful research. From reliable sources, like NIH, CDC, etc. That is, if you can find such research.

There seems to be a growing body of anecdotal evidence that some number of those vaccinated have still gone on to contact Covid 19, some of these also ending with Long Covid. And many of these have also seemingly had their health damaged by the vaccine itself.

No one knows how many. Why? No research is being done regarding poor Covid vaccine outcomes that I am aware of, on the "official" level. Thus any evidence remains "anecdotal".

That's enough for now, I think. I do not write this post to stir controversy (nor to tell anyone else what to do). Lord knows there is enough controversy on this topic to fill volumes. However, I do feel that the entire "big picture" is yet to emerge.

My best wishes to all of you.

Anne

Good morning gals!
I posted last night about my day trip up the mountain but didn't realize someone else posted just ahead of me and mine didn't go thru. So I just resent it this morning.

Got a really good night's sleep! I was exhausted! And my calves and ankles are really stiff and sore this morning from all the hiking! Used muscles I haven't used in a long time! It was very hilly in that park so lots of up and down walking (especially when I got off trail and had to make my way back to it  ). I did learn that wearing shoes with mesh material on them is not a good idea for hiking. When I got home last night and took off my socks and shoes, my feet were just black with dirt that came thru! :o

Temps here have been just over 100* but are heading down now. Will only be in the low to mid 80's over the weekend and then start heading up again. But at least it is getting better. By the end of October it will stay in the 70's and 80's. The night are cooling off nicely too. Altho still too dusty or humid to open the windows at night.

Need to look at my list of projects today and see what I can work on around here. Just little stuff for the most part, that I have been putting off.

Have a good day and stay safe!

Sue, are those Aspen trees? They look too tall to be birch trees, but they have the white bark.

Morning is almost over. A sunny day here for a change so I'll head to WalMart.

Martha, back pain is something I cannot imagine living with after having minor issues at times with mine! I hope they can find something to help. Velda, so sorry that this is all lingering for you! Hoping they find a way to help you as well. Brother did fine after Monday's chemo! He has to be the best house husband in the world - shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry. I'm just dumbfounded quite frankly at how this has gone.

I'm on the fence about the Covid shot, but I do need to get my flu and RSV shots. Beth, it took me a minute to realize you aren't taking the rig to your sister's. I find I have much more trouble packing now that I don't take everything with me all the time. Have been known to pack for the wrong weather! Barbie, I'm another one with little stuff that needs doing and I ignore it. Thrilled Sheila has had some mini GTGs! There was a government shutdown a few years ago when I wanted to drive Skyline Drive in Virginia - didn't get another chance.

Two weeks ago the woman and her two kids upstairs left and I haven't seen them since! A quiet person is living up there, but why the charade of her moving in and now someone else living there? In my wild imagination is it a cover for someone who wouldn't qualify? Hmmm....

It's hot again here. 92 now, made it up to 94! Unbelievable for this time of year. People are upset that the pool is closed, but luckily all understand. I was getting calls and texts all morning from people with reservations who wanted to know if they could pack swim suits.

Got home a bit ago and had a text about a new post by Tim Cotton. I always look forward to them, and this was so heartwarming so I'm sharing it.

Anita, don't look a gift horse in the mouth regarding the missing noisy neighbors.

I went and mowed in Maurice and sprayed the fence line. The only good thing about the drought we are in that I can think of is that I haven't mowed there in 7 weeks. There were only a couple of places that I had to mow high and then low. It was windy so I got dust and grass on me. I had to wash the dirt off and should have taken a shower but wanted to go to town and it was getting late. I should have gone by the feed store but didn't make it before they closed. I hadn't eaten lunch so picked up a fish dinner.

The bridge going into town is out so I have to take a bypass to get to another bridge to get into town. It has been out for several days and three times I forgot it was out until I tried to go home. Would have to turn around and go back thru town.

One of the local TV reporters was representing Louisiana in the USA Pageant. She didn't make the finals so I quit watching.

Beth, that was a good story about the car.
