Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Afternoon all. My furnace guy just left and I have heat again. He ordered a part that is working now but seems to be the problem after checking this and that. Process of elimination at this point. It’s a steam heat system so pipes are old and probably clogged with rust etc. I found the folder in my file but it’s empty so now the hunt is on to find all the paperwork on it. I just can’t remember the last time the diagrams and such were needed. So a new challenge! The weather has been lovely during the day but nights are getting pretty chilly, low 40’s or colder. Buddy and I met a fellow and his 2 dogs walking the other day. They were both off leash so at first I was a little nervous of them running toward me. Buddy was still in the car so it was just me! I told them to stop and sit which the golden did and I held up a treat and the guy said that yes I could give to them. I explained Buddy was still in training and he was fine with it so we walked all 3 of them and they got to play. So Buddy had some socializing which he so needs. It’s been suggested many times that I need a second dog that is a bit older so they could play together. Not on my radar though! Otherwise I’m just trying to get caught up and getting ready for fall chores. The leaves will be falling soon! Getting to be time to get out for a walk pretty soon and then back to chores. Hoping everyone has a good weekend and are out of the path of Lee. It’s not supposed to affect us since we’re far enough inland. Hoping for good health for everyone and safe travels.

Afternoon Sharon and All. A lovely low humid day here. I pack, declutter half an hour then rest one hour. Squeezing in laundry. On the recliner/iPad time I found a site fir 14 slow cooker recipes, big mistake. Lol Will now make steel cut oats in crockpot, making risotto for the first time and saw delicious hot cocktails that would leave me comatose. Would just like a taste though lol I’m restricted to eating out of the freezer until I move to lighten moving the freezer. Except for risotto and making a pot of French Market soup. Times up, washer just stopped Be safe

Afternoon Sharon, Shirl and any who follow. Beautiful day here. Temp is 71 and plenty of sun. Hope we can get same for tomorrow at the Memorial and mini Family reunion. Supposed to be a cold front coming through.

You two have been busy. Getting to fall chores in PA and packing and purging in NJ. Glad Buddy had some socializing time. My two are BFF’s and hardly inseparable. They don’t play as much any more, but I love to watch them when they do. They change as they get older, just like we do. Glad to hear you got the furnace fixed Sharon. Keeping fingers crossed it keeps working and you can find the papers you are looking for.

I accomplished a few fall chores yesterday in that I dumped my planter boxes and cleaned the dirt out of the big one I built this spring. Need to redo the bottom as it’s not drying good. That was a prototype anyway. Learned some things and applied them to the one I built for neighbors. So now will redo the bottom of mine. Put one of my hoses away and then off for a walk with the dogs. Had an audiology appt. yesterday, so didn’t get started till afternoon.

Just came in from pulling out the flowers at the front entrance and decorating for Fall. Will send a pic after I get one. Sun in wrong angle right now. That was my accomplishment for today. Got call from vet that new med for Piper was in, so went to pick it up and then to store, gas station, Lowes and home.

I’m going to run out and get some pizza slices for dinner. Will make a salad to go along with them, since I have fresh tomatoes from Farmers Market. Won’t be around much longer as about end of season. I’m starting to get a bit tomatoed out from eating so many, LOL.

Did my three loads of laundry today. Going to walk around and take some photos of this campground tomorrow and post them on my blog, but otherwise, nothing planned. Will go over to my son's house Sunday and tuck some Christmas gifts in the downstairs bedroom dresser. Also, stopped at post office yesterday and picked up some Priority Mail envelopes and stamps to make it convenient for my son to send me my mail. I somehow misplaced my one credit card so am expecting it to arrive in a month and will need it forwarded to me wherever I am. Plus, I found some Halloween cups with lids and straws at Walmart, so I filled them with candy and put them in little bags for Ohio grandkids.

Did most of my errand running for my departure, but still need to get air put in a couple of tires. Will probably end up doing that in Detroit. Will make it to Atlanta by October 1, and to Fort Clinch SP on the northern part of Florida directly on the ocean by October 17. I have no idea how hot it will be down there, but just hoping for no hurricanes down there this fall.

Not many posting today, so hoping the rest of you are busy and OK.

Yay Sharon on the furnace fix. I hope that's the whole problem. Shirl, I love looking at recipes in my wheelhouse. And that oatmeal sounds good. I'm looking forward to your review. Today I had to "toss " lots of our open pizza toppings including bacon, meat, onions and green peppers. Everything gets dated when put in the case to use and obviously we need to cut down as the season in winding down. I was able to mix a combination of the 4 and bring home so I cooked it all up, adding diced hot chili peppers and taco seasoning. Tonight I made a couple tacos from it, saved another meal in the fridge, I might mix with rice or some noodles and froze a couple more meals from it. Good deal for me. I hate tossing out food and still tossed more than I brought home.

For the ending of the season the things in the store keep getting discounted more and more. We went to 75% off yesterday! So I treated myself to a sign I like. Sue, you could make it so easily, but not in my wheelhouse. It says "It's a Good Day to Have a Good Day" and I have it in my RV windshield now while parked. And I bought a while bunch of little Christmas ornaments. Last year many people at my park in Texas have out little presents, so this year I will also. Some just put them in the mailboxes so you didn't know who they came from and I think I'll do that. I couldn't pass up at the price!

I'm off tomorrow and planning to do a load or two of laundry and maybe go drive through Winterset. It's been about 20 years since I've been and I want to go back.

Judy, I asked one of the maintenance guys here if I could borrow his air compressor and he said before I leave he'll come check all my tires. Yay. I just had my car in for an oil change and all that got checked on it. It informs me if any tire is low. So far it has been wrong because it informs me if low air in a tire if I hit a bad pot hole. But I'd rather it do that than not inform me when I really do need air.

No WIFI last night so doing catch up today am stopped in Sioux Falls planned on getting here in time to do some business but I forgot about time change for one and didn't think about the time it would take to drive through the Bad Lands so got to the edge of the city at 5 I didn't even go see if I could find where the offices would be...
before I give a run down on my days
Beth remember Trudy??? she if I remember correctly lives in Winterset but of course no idea of anything more... I remember that it is a pretty town
Judy I saw a article that I'd seen earlier and meant to mention to you but don't know if I did however at the risk of repeating myself... the article was saying that lemon balm plant is a good deterrent from mosquito's from what I read earlier just having it in the garden you of course have no garden but I would think that a potted plant to set out by your steps or just leave inside would help this one said you can rub the leaves on your skin...
I went to get gas as I was leaving Powell and got 2 cookies paid the 4 dollars for them and left that night I think I saw were my account was charged 24 dollars but thought that it possibly was a miss transaction so waited to see if it disappeared and became 4.00 but no WIFI last night so I couldn't check it wasn't fixed tonight so called the gas station and talked to them about it they gave me a phone number to call to have it fixed hopefully it will work it was too late tonight will need to look for the receipt usually what happens is if I want a receipt as I do keep them I can never find it but will find the oldest oddist ones... I'm trying to keep my receipts in envelopes just to see what I spend... so guess before I leave tomorrow I need to call
the motel I stayed in last night was really old not far from Badlands not bad but not the best either... tonight's much better and cheaper...
Anne and Sandi you would totally enjoy the Badlands it was awe inspiring to drive through ...
I had to laugh at some of the names of towns one that I saw was Puknoma if I remember correctly I could get up and look in the atlas but I am lazy I do know that the Puk is correct
think I need to close and see if I can find the error in my scarf the count is off hate that
it's just one stitch but
thanks for the information on Blue Earth might go look it out I am thinking that I'm going to find a place for a couple of days veg out been in the car lots have to laugh at my kids my #3 dd told me to check in when I leave and when I stop for the night but do they acknowledge it??? nope!!!

I got home this afternoon before a big rain hit. We got an inch of rain. I got everything unloaded except the clothes. I'm glad I put the motorhome up and didn't wait. Yesterday we had a tour of the city, a mansion and an Indian Village. The Indian Village was just a few mounds and a film. I could have skipped that. I don't think I will want to eat chicken for a while. Every meal we had was chicken. Two we had a choice of chicken or fish. My knees are sore. There were a lot of stairs. In and out of the bus and the mansions. It was quite a hike to the meeting room at the campground.

When I got back to Lafayette I stopped at Sam's to get gas and a slice of pizza. I was too tired to even think about shopping.

The cats are glad I'm home. They broke the blinds in the bed room. Lord knows what was going on. I'll see if I can fix them tomorrow.

There was a small box of cookies in the mail from the company that fixed my air conditioner. That's the first time I have received a gift from a repair company. I have to call the plumbers again. There is a leak in a pipe by the carport. It seems like there was a leak there before.

Thanks for the mention Sheila. I saw some of the Badlands back in 2014 when I took a northern route to visit my parents’ birthplaces in Minnesota and Illinois. That was the best trip and I loved the Badlands and everything else I saw for the first time. Enjoy your trip. I’m so happy you’re able to get away and visit friends and relatives. Travel safe.
