Good afternoon Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good afternoon Wednesday

Postby Bethers » Wed Sep 13, 2023 1:04 pm

I planned to at least take a drive today, but laziness has changed my mind, at least so far. I have the weekend off, so will try to be better about getting out and about then. At least one of the days

I've spent some time checking my finances. I was worried, especially after the roof expenses. But I'm feeling better after seeing where I stand. I've done better than I thought. I know the RV is due for new tires coming up and me probably new hearing aids, so time to really budget even more. Now I'm researching places in Texas for cataract surgery. Or Benson, Arizona after. Decisions, decisions. Luckily Medicare will cover that unless I let myself be convinced to get the more expensive procedure.

Good morning, Beth and everyone,

I like it when other people decide to be lazy! I am starting to get a list of errands that would get me out and about - no rush, just before the first snow. Our mornings are cooler and I was wishing for the bathrobe I never found the other morning! Still 80s later in the day. Threat of rain yesterday that didn't happen after I went out and replaced the Sling cockpit cover with the full cover.

Beth, when you had the 2011 get together in Pennsylvania, I bought a small quilt kit. It didn't have the best instructions as to what fabric went where, but I recently figured it out after a false start while I was still traveling. Second time of trying to put a block together and just didn't line up. Finally, threw out that block this morning! Not worth the frustration. Then I've passed the time looking at suggestions for items to take for long train travel. Obviously, house cleaning isn't high on my list. I'm adjusting to the schedule of the neighbors upstairs. I raised my girls not to run in the house! :D

BJ, interesting story! Sue, glad you can quit supporting the vet. lol Hoping Lee does not cause a lot of trouble!

Good afternoon. Just finished lunch and have the pot roast I made yesterday for dinner. Will roast some potatoes and throw some mushrooms in the gravy and call it dinner. Got a few things done this morning but nothing spectacular. Just not in the mood today. I did throw a load of laundry in so guess it is time to put it in the dryer. Then just a kick back afternoon. See I can be lazy too!!!!! Not Sue's kind of lazy but pretty much most of us know how to kick back ha ha Sue, it is an acquired skill. Beth yesterday I thought of a drive also but then I remembered I will be driving up to Laura's on Friday so guess that will have to do. I like going for a drive as I am still exploring the area here. People mention things and I have to google them to see where they are. I like the farmers markets but havent been going too much lately. I like some of their bakery goods and fresh veggies. The craft stuff not at all LOL you all know I am so not artsy craftsy. OK time to get back to the laundry, make a caramel mocha and park myself somewhere............hmmmmm wonder where that will be LOL

Anita, I learned to quit trying lots of the crafty things. They end up taking my money and just frustrating me. Sounds like you're the same, Karen. I used to like doing an occasional jigsaw puzzle. So I bought a few. I've never finished one of them before putting it all back in the box frustrated. I've promised myself when I get back to Arizona I'll put them with all the ones they have for anyone/everyone to do. Reading is my speed. And lately I've not been doing as much of that. After several years almost never watching TV, I now have it on almost anytime I'm home. Go figure.

It was chilly this morning so long sleeves and leggings. It's beautiful now but I've already planned soup for tonight so I'm going to have it. It'll be cooling back off as soon as the sun goes down.

Beth I love jigsaw puzzles............BUT the caveat is dont get them too big.!! For me the 300-500 piece is perfect. I dont get bored with those and I get them done eventually. I have done some 1000 piece puzzles but dang, all I got was a half finished puzzle and a stiff neck. I finally finished the ones I had. No real sense of accomplishment like with the smaller ones. I guess I am like a fidgety child, my attention span only lasts so long. I have become a bit more of a tv watcher but lots of the time I just have it on for the noise I guess. Ya know like when I am working on a puzzle ha ha ha

Martha glad you are enjoying camping hope your weather holds out. It is very warm here today so I have my big fan on but not the AC, not that hot Just wish there was a bit of a breeze. I managed to stave off a nap, dont know why I got so sleepy all of a sudden. So I got up and moved around for a bit, went outside and watered the front and now I am doing well and not sleepy anymore. Pretty soon will be time to roast my potatoes and heat up the pot roast. I am hungry already but like to eat between 4:30 and 5... Emma can tell time and comes looking for me at 4:04 haha she likes to eat at about 4 A couple people asked me about this so I will tell you how I do it. I try to practice intermittent fasting of 14-16 hours. Seems to help with sleeping and energy levels and weight loss depending on your food choices of course. It isnt really so much fasting as you are sleeping most of it. It is more WHEN you should eat. I give myself 8-10 hours when I can eat and the 14-16 when I cannot. So from 5-5 is my 12hrs and I dont usually eat until around 8am so that says I fasted for 15 hours. So I eat at 8am and 5pm then I am done.....no snacking. So just so you know this doesnt work for me every day but I try.

I had just cleaned off the table for a jigsaw puzzle earlier! I like the 1000 piece ones - the harder, the better. I also no longer stand over them and kill my back!

When I had my audiology appointment 2 weeks ago, they said they didn't like to make the fitting appointment until the aids were there. Okay. Got a call Monday -it's a month before I can get them! Seems like poor planning on their part.

I left Jackson yesterday with the plans of going through part of Yellowstone to get to Cody. you really don't see much of Yellowstone going that way but I did see a hot pot and a lot of lake... I was going to check the information that they give out to see how big it is but forgot to look before I tossed it away... will have to do a google search and see I know it's huge just not sure how huge of course if you compare it to the great lakes then it's a mere pond  ...
so get to Cody and no room to be had one guy called to Travel Lodge in Powell they had room and on the ground floor... so I go there pull out the computer and discover that I left the power cord behind this thing is so old that little over an hour it's out of battery so knew that I'd need to find one sooner than later... but thought I will just go on and do what I need to do and couldn't find anything saying what the password was... tried calling it went to some answering dept and I with out thinking just left the room number they didn't call back... so didn't get on the computer last night ... so got up today got ready to go put the destination on the phone and went East sort of you know how it is when you travel sometimes you are going east then ne then se but basically East not been up in this area I don't believe I'd love to come again when I'm the passenger and can look around  if Cheryl went over that pass hands off to her... it was somewhat scary in spots you cross the Big Horns looks like to two places two passes the other I've been on several times I don't recall this one at all... :| but beautiful!!!! Stopped in Sheridan to call my cousin and see if we could meet up She lives near Rapid City SD but her boyfriend had a hip replacement 2nd one went it thinking it would be a piece of cake found out that he had infection in the old replacement ended up going to Sioux Falls to have it done... this was earlier in the summer so they have been dealing with it all summer and today he wasn't feeling the best so doubt that I will see her... but going to meet her daughter tomorrow I stopped along the way to call my cousin again as we had decided I'd let her know when I got closer to the border she didn't answer the phone so not sure what was going on... so tried to get a room according to booking no availability in Sprearfish so got one in Deadwood... got there and no elevator and packing the concentrator up the stairs was just something I couldn't do so cancelled it and went looking 4 motels later I find a Hampton Inn in Lead cost more than I wanted but what can one expect??? it was late I was tired and wanted to stop... so here I am in Lead for the night going to head East tomorrow to Sioux Falls then will have a better idea of what I plan on doing
a Question??? anyone know where in Minnesota is Blue Earth... I can't read the letters of the atlas well enough to pin point it ... if some one can at least tell me a general area or a larger town close to it I'd appreciate it
I need a step stool the beds are so high  and the toilet you feel like you are almost to the floor...
have a great day
I still need to crochet

Sheila, Blue Earth is along I-90 140 miles east of Sioux Falls. Sorry you are having such a time with motels!

Sheila, what Anita said. It is on I-90 that runs just above the Iowa border in MN. There really aren't any big towns around there. Just a lot of corn fields and cows. It is straight south of Mankato if that helps you find it on a map.

It was pretty busy at work today so of course my sciatica got a work-out. Didn't have much time to sit down between haircuts. The new stylist is a little feisty. I guess she got in an argument with a customer the other day and today was having issues with a guy while checking him in. Granted the guy was an A-hole but I ended up taking him and got him calmed down (because he told her his name was Dan, and she put it down as "Daniel" and that is NOT his name! It is DAN or DANNY!! Seriously??? ) So anyways he was happy when he left, especially after I changed his name from Daniel to Dan in our computer.

Been relaxing since I got home and am tired tonight. Didn't feel good earlier but once I had some soup, I felt a little better. I can sleep in tomorrow. Then laundry for sure! I have nothing clean left to wear.

It was hazy today with the wind kicking up the dust all across the valley. Couldn't see the mountains at all. The temps are hanging right around 100* so not as bad as they were.

No news this week yet from my agent...

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
