Monday, Sept. 11th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, Sept. 11th

Morning from the 45th. 54° and cloudy here. Supposed to be rainy dsy and showers for next couple days. Typical fall Weather. Highs in low 60’s gradually moving up to mid 70’s by Saturday and then back down. So will be an Inside day, after Molly and I do a vet appt. for eye check. Between these two vets I am going to, she is a changed dog. The Chiropractic he did in her has worked wonders. She’s walking normally again, just a barely imperceptible sign of a limp, she’s getting into play spats and mini chases with Piper and she’s back to sleeping on the spare bed again. And she bugs me for daily walks now. The only thing that slows her down of course is age as she will be 9 next month. Now if we can get the inflammation in her body and eyes cleared up. Working on that. I have a daily regime of Chinese herbal meds and conventional western meds to dispense. Some once a day, some twice.

Dress Up Darlings are back in the flowerbed with new outfits, I’m putting the finishing touches on the girls fall one for next Mo th and will start the boy’s. Christmas patterns arrived on Friday. So more waiting in line to do.. Those are the end for this year as I don’t put any out in winter. My vinyl storm windows are done. Washed windows and then put them in place. Put wi dow screens in basement till spring. They are just a very heavy clear vinyl that I got at Walmart in fabric Dept. But they do act as a bit more Wind barrier. I cut some to size and attached velcro to edges and used them on my Trailers screen door too, in fall when it was cool and summer sometimes when it was hot, so could leave my outside door open whether the heat or AC was on. Worked great. Let more light in the trailer when door was open. Just took them off, rolled up and put under the bed when not n use. The velcro attached to the screen door stayed on all the time. One fall chore accomplished. Grass is mowed ahead of rain too.

I have to tell you. I posted a link to this company, last week http://www.orthofeet.com that popped up on my FB page because I thought maybe Barbie and those of you with knee, back and other issues might be interested in it. They make Orthopedic shoes for all kinds of issues and even just plain walking. I’m not one to pounce on ads that show up on FB, but this one caught my attention because I have issues with sore feet while walking and not being able to find the width in Women’s shoes I need, so have to go to men’s. I went to the company website, did some research, read reviews, decided to take the plunge while there was a Labor Day sale and ordered a pair of Delta boots, to try. I’m in love. Perfect fit, plentry of toe box room and they fit like a glove. When I walk, the give support and you walk sure footed and balanced. And my feet are so comfty. They send two sets of orthopedic insoles you can add if the shoe feels a little loose and arch supports if you need a bit more arch support. Shipping was extremely fast, ordered on Labor Day, they were here Saturday. Not overly cheap, but well worth it. They have sandals all the way to Winter boots, including professional shoes for those like servers, beauty shops or laces where you are on your feet all day. Check ‘em out if you are interested. I didn’t order sneakers cause we are heading into colder Weather season. All my men’s shoes will be heading to Goodwill now that I found a source to get good fitting women’s.

Okay, enough bragging here  Time to get a move on. Trash day and need to leave in about hour and a half. Have a great day everyone.

Morning Sue and all, same ole weather. Sue, love reading your good news. Maintenance is coming Wednesday for quarterly upkeep and manager to inspect my apartment. Never been inspected before but maybe it’s a five year thing. She will inspect me and I will hand her a letter that notifies I will not renew my lease. Have two more new recipes to try and packing. Be safe

Good morning Sue, Shirl and all who follow. From opening yesterday, I close today and tomorrow. It was chilly this morning so I put on leggings and long sleeves and a sweatshirt to walk Ty. Wish I could wear them to work, but they don't match the yellow work T-shirt lol

I'm discovering I don't take my word games as serious as I once did. Maybe because I'm playing so many of them. I'm playing faster, thus putting in choices that won't work if I really was paying attn. Time to pay attn again. But both my sister and I are skipping some of the games on various days. I still take the two basic ones (including Wordle) serious and aren't screwing them up by quick, foolish moves. I think they just are taking up to much time, especially with working more than I intended. Maybe I'll pick them back up later. I know they're good for my brain health. I've got to keep some part of me healthy lol

Ty is back to normal, sleeping and pooping. Yay. I'm sure he ate something outside the other day and I missed it.

Sue, I also have trouble with shoes, and for about the past 20 years have worn nothing but SAS shoes. Not only do I have very wide feet at the ball of my feet, but I have a very high arch. (Feet are narrow at my heel.) SAS shoes are also expensive, but a pair will last me several years. I keep one pair on the floor of my drivers seat and one by my side door so I never have to wear shows inside my motorhome. These are the ones I like the best. https://sasnola.com/products/relaxed-natural They are adjustable and the soles are very comfortable. The last pair I tossed I had worn almost continuously for 5 years. There is a store in Traverse city you can check out next time you go there. I'm going to review your site for possibilities.

No flying yesterday either because the weather was not good, but maybe my son can take me next Sunday. Am a bit worried, but still looking forward to it.

Got a bunch of little chores I have to do before i leave Ohio, like getting air pressure checked in tires, backing up computer, putting backup in safety deposit box, and such. Had no son hang some hooks up high for the side awning curtain I bought a while back, so got that one done. Also wrapped some Christmas gifts and left them in basement bedroom dresser in case I do not come back here for Christmas. Have backup campgrounds because son and family might take a trip somewhere over the holidays.

Addendum: Just changed windshield wipers and backed up computer. Got two Christmas gifts to wrap and leave at my son's house.

Good afternoon now. Was cool this morning 50 but we are heading into a much warmer week but still not awful hot. Slept way better last night thank goodness. Did not get up until 6:30 actually late for me ha ha Today is just a puttering day around here for me. Put a few more things away, small amount of organizing so not that much. Need to go out tomorrow morning and run a couple of errands. Post Office and Donation store is on my list. And then will treat myself to a Blended Hazelnut Mocha from one of my favorite espresso stands. It is privately owned and so they go the extra mile. I usually make my own but those are economy drinks ha ha it is not even close to the same thing, but way cheaper and way less calories. I have declared tomorrow is cheat day for me at least in the drink category.

Good afternoon gals!

It was sunny this morning but has been clouding up since then. Getting a little darker now. Might get some rain today. Otherwise a high of 100* and very little breeze, but very humid.

So far not getting much done other than I did have a late breakfast of Malt-O-Meal. Will have a BLT for lunch later.

I discovered another piece to my ADHD puzzle... When I was very young (between age 4-8 or so), I used to rock my head back and forth in bed to help me go to sleep. I decided to Google it this morning to see if it was a "thing" and not just some quirky thing just I did. Weill, it IS a thing and it is called Rhythmic Movement Disorder or RMD, and it is due to low dopamine levels and related to ADHD. It is usually done by kids who eventually outgrow it, which is what I did. I used to stay with my grandma a lot when I was little and we shared the same bed. It drove her totally nuts when I would do that! She always told me to settle down and lay still! I learn something new about ADHD all the time! It is very complex and can involve a lot of other co-occuring issues. Most people just associate it with hyper little boys! That is just the tip of the iceberg! I am also learning new techniques to help identify and control/overcome problems with executive functioning issues. It is all very interesting!

I posted information about my place on a FB page for people looking to buy seasonal property. Got a response this morning from a guy and his wife who are snowbirds and are interested in more info on my place, so I will send them some photos and get them in contact with my agent. They snowbird in Florida now but sounds like they want to make a change from there.

I think my get-up-and-go got up and left! I will probably just read and do laundry later...

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon,

Finally, I am not feeling so exhausted! I have made a public FB post about my trip and can't find the way to share as I did before. I think this will take you there. https://www.facebook.com/anita.loseykirkman

Photos are hard to take on a vibrating boat! We did see several groups of sheep - some more than once I'm sure. Thunderstorms the night we spent in the cabins - just me and 2 couples from Sisters, Oregon plus the hostess. Food was way too much. Cabins are very old but clean. I wouldn't spend the night again - too many trees to see much of the sky - not what I was expecting, but I so enjoyed hearing frogs, etc. Very peaceful.

Still catching up a bit on here. Sheila, I hope you have a wonderful trip! Barbie, having snowbirds interested is just who you need! Maybe Canadians will start looking when they come down and they can only stay 6 months. Irmi, sorry about the loss of food - been there, done that. Shirl, I liked your night-time post! Sue, always good to find comfortable shoes! Karen, putter is about all I seem to do! :)

Brother saw the oncologist and has agreed to one more treatment. If he gets as sick, that will be the end, but the doctor has included meds with the chemo that will hopefully help. Having a PET scan Wednesday to see what is showing on right hip - possibly bone cancer but praying it's something else.

Barbara, look up videos by Dr Chris Palmer, psychiatrist on the metabolic connection to mental health including ADHD.
It's a quiet day here. In low 90's. Clear blue sky and gentle breezes. Just puttering.
Sue I'd like to see pics of how you made yourvstorm windows.

Lucky you!

Checked my outdoor thermometer at 4:00 p.m.

104 degrees. Ugh.

Can't wait until Fall.

I really like the SAS shoes I ordered but after wearing them around for awhile decided to return them as they bothered the top of my foot. I am keeping the pair i got from Orthofeet. I'm still wearing my trusty Birkenstocks but I really do need the padding the other shoes have plus the adjustable arch support.
It is great weather here, after tomorrow's high of 80 the rest of the week will be in the 70's with low humidity. YAY!!!
Toby brought me a present this morning a dead (thankfully) squirrel. It was still dark when the dogs went out and I didn't check as they came in. He didn't come for his morning treat he gets with my breakfast and finally I went to look. He had the squirrel on his mat in the living room chewing happily. I lured him away with a treat and picked the squirrel up with those long grabber things and took it across the street to a wooded are where another animal or hawk will get it. Then I threw away his mat with rubber gloves on, not listening to DH saying just wash it. No way was I putting that in my washing machine.
Anita your trip looked amazing.

I still need to finish packing not sure what is taking me so long but it will happen I went to the post office because the key they put in the box for my package and I couldn't get the key to work when I tried on Sat.. so went in today tried again but couldn't get it to work waited in line for what seemed like forever they don't have enough employee's and this one was a loan from somewhere else ...usually they will get several box numbers to pick up several packages at a time... she must have wanted the exercise cause she only took one at a time... so frustrating I'm sure for all of those in line... and there I was with a key I couldn't get to work  of course the employee could but she did say it was hard I couldn't even get it to go into the lock...
I need to go finish packing
