Sunday September 10

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday September 10

Morning All. Still hot and humid but forecast is for dropping temperatures starting next week. Keeping an eye on scary Hurricane Lee and his northbound track. So sorry about my late night rambling. I posted my thoughts thinking they would be helpful since we all age. My attitude has changed from feeling defeated because I can no long lived independent. Instead I now feel like a strong responsible woman. I was trying to express that attitude helps with aging and instead it came across as lucky me with a nice family. I’m going to assemble some boxes and try to stay out of trouble. Be safe

Good morning Shirl, I was happy to read your post last night. Lots of good things in store for you, sounds exciting to me. Sounds like you will have lots of stimulation LOL and also a room to retreat to when you feel the need for peace and quiet.

Busy today with housekeeping chores and laundry. I lead such an exciting life LOL Was chilly again this morning and for some unknown reason I woke up at 1:40 AM and could not get back to sleep despite turning on the tv. So at 2:15 I got my happy butt up. Made coffee, and of course the dog gets up when I do so we just did our usual routine. Didn't feed her breakfast that early but I did give her a couple of cookies and she ate later. No nap is in order as if I do I dont sleep that well at night so not a napper unless I am sick. So will keep busy today so I dont struggle to stay awake.
I have leftover crockpot chicken and potatoes, and Tortellini soup so I have choices ha ha
Off to get a load out of the dryer, then take a shower, will help wake me up altho I do feel very rested despit knowing I only slept for 3hrs and 15 minutes!!! Kinda wish Fitbit lied to me but alas it is what it is.

Happy day to all. It is another beautiful day here. Shirl I loved your post last night!! I didn't get the idea at all that you were saying you were lucky. It did however, make me resolved to be more like you and to have a positive attitude. I have lived my life as an independent woman whether I was married or not and I am going to remember that as I face the uncertainties life brings us all.

The woman I bought Pippa from has 3 puppies left which is very unusual as she usually has a waiting list. I wish she would sell them as my resolve is really being tested I have ENOUGH.

Sheila are you going on your adventure alone and puling your 5th wheel? How ever you travel I hope you have a wonderful trip. You definitely deserve some time away.

Karen you may fight it but I see a nap in your forecast. :)

Had a strange night. Went to bed a little early (11pm) and then woke up at midnight with my foot itching really bad. It is one of those nerve itches that scratching doesn't help. I get that once in awhile but this would not go away! I think it was over an hour before it started to subside! So frustrating! Then I woke up around 4am with a terrible back pain in my lower back. I think it was from a lot of bending over while cleaning my floors the other day but it was very uncomfortable! Took some pain pills, muscle pain spray, and used the heating pad but even that didn't help for quite awhile. Eventually tho, I fell back to sleep. Woke up at 10am and am now feeling much better. But I went in to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and my eyes were all puffy! Probably from the spray on pain reliever I used on my back, that irritated my eyes.

Anyways, I feel pretty good now but still hanging out in bed. It is cloudy and windy out. Not sure I want to go out in the wind with the dust today tho. Was gonna make a run to WM but maybe will hold off on that and see if the wind dies down some later. With my eyes already irritated, the dust surely won't help any.

Will probably just read and relax today. I don't work tomorrow either so can do laundry and WM run then. Back to work on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Shirl, I, too loved your post last night. It was a very positive post and made me smile. Especially as I read it in the middle of night after Ty got me up for the 2nd of 3 times. First was someone coming in late and unable to find their site. Walked into our site with a flashlight. 2nd and 3rd he demanded to go out but wasn't successful pooping, which I could tell he needed to do. He pooped up a storm, soft poop, this morning. I'm guessing he ate something that didn't sit well. Any way, 2nd time I checked on here and truly enjoyed your post. Nothing bad about it.

I moan and groan enough about some things. We all do, I think. I'm off now until 2 tomorrow afternoon. Like Karen I won't take a nap or I'll be up all night. I need to walk Ty and figure out tonight's dinner.

It is warm out now on my back deck 92. The air is 84 but the sun beats down on my aluminum awning and heats up the back deck all 60 feet of it and no breeze. So I busied myself in my office today filing, purging, shredding yup that kept me busy for a couple of hours. Even forgot to eat some lunch....oh well we will have an early dinner, Emma wont mind when she eats LOL as long as she likes it. Chicken tonight so she will be happy. So far I dont even feel tired but I know it will be an early to bed night. I wont get interested in anything on tv when I go to bed, will just watch something benign.
BJ I know just how you feel. I look at the Tibetan Spaniel forum and those puppies are so damn cute. Then they have some in their rescue branch that people have surrendered or they were picked up as strays etc. How that happens I will never know. Some come from bad situations or the owners died etc. A few are offered from returns to the breeders. They cannot advertise online but they post pictures and tell the story about them. Then you can privately contact them. I really like having just one dog tho. I can take her anywhere and if I had 2 it would be much harder. Most of my friends only have one dog so it makes it easy to visit with just 2 dogs running around, or sleeping ha ha Beth hope Ty is feeling better today. Doesnt sound serious but you know how we worry at times.
Barbie I sure hope you get some action on your house soon. The time is coming for the snowbirds to be looking. Too bad they made that stupid rule. Still dont know why.

Going to have a drink while I am waiting for time to fix dinner ha ha just a soft drink nothing that could make me sleepy LOL No nap for me wahoo

Yesterday and today I have been getting ready to leave for my rally tomorrow. Yesterday I went to Walmart and got everything I need, I think. lol Checked my tires which is a pain. I have an air compressor on the old carport but it will not put air in my motorhome tires. I have to use a small portable air pump so that takes a while. I'm glad I got one of the kneeler benches to help me get up and down. Now days I better not get on the ground without a plan to get back up. This morning I washed the motorhome and while I was at it washed the truck too. Then I had to come in and take Aleve. I have almost everything loaded except my food. I'll load the food when it cools off some. Today the high was only 94 but it's still 93.

I wasn't planning on going to town today but the batteries in one of the outdoor cameras died and I had to go to Walmart to get batteries. The aggravation is that I know I have some batteries for it here somewhere. I have already replace two in one camera and they come in a 4 pack. I have a box I put batteries in a cabinet in the utility room. I'm putting the two extra batteries in there so maybe I can find them.

Barbie, hope you have a better night. I often have feet or leg cramps that will wake me up. I have to get up and walk around to make them go away. I should take some Aleve PM tonight so I don't wake up at 3:00.

I follow the local Parish animal control and my usual comment is "I hate you people." They show pictures of the dogs they are going to kill every week. If they are full, quit picking up dogs. Dog owners are to blame too. We have a low cost spay and neuter clinic in Lafayette but people are too lazy to bring their dogs. The animal control in Lafayette will give dogs away if they are full. Here you have to go through a rescue to adopt a dog. I don't know what it cost to get your dog back but some people won't or can't pay it.

Martha, our rescue Saving Grace does not charge if your dog is picked up and you go to claim it. I like that. They are basically a no kill shelter but sometimes animals get put down because they are just suffering and too far gone. They are always asking for volunteers to rescue until they are vet cleared and being up for adoption, but that doesnt have my name on it. I have a very well behaved dog and want to keep it that way LOL Have a great time on your campout. I buy batteries in bulk LOL everything I own is battery operated, cameras, remotes, lights. doorbell, so I keep well stocked. Cheaper that way too. I had a tire minder tire pressure system on my RV, and my SUV that I towed. I could check the pressure and also the temps when needed. Just pushed a button ha ha I had the Tire Minder. I like you just couldn't get down, well I could get down but up was an issue.
Anita cant wait to see your pics and glad you had a great time. Now you have to come home and rest....vacations are like that.

I am still awake but will head to bed around 9pm I am sure I can sleep tonight.

Sunday's there is always a nap in my life... and I didn't fail today either....
I think that probably seeing the great lakes is going to happen another time... my dd suggested that I talk with sister in law and brother in law about going up but it would be quite a trip and sil hasn't been doing too well with traveling lately does a number on her back...
I was going to mention something but it's slipped my mind...
I do need to go in and pack mom's stuff up so she will be ready to leave tomorrow. then I will pack me up... I don't know how to pack lightly
the movie that was new this week on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries was really good a feel good movie... It was called Guilding Emily I think about a girl that fell which caused her to be blind and her growth from it as well as a puppy that was being trained to be a guide dog and how they crossed paths every so often .... it was a good movie at least in my humble opinion
you all have a great night

I pretty much read and watched TV all afternoon. By 5pm, the wind had died down so I headed to WM. Got some necessities like cat food, litter, TP, and stuff for BLT's. Wind is quiet tonight but is supposed to pick up again over night. Some roads were closed this morning due to blowing sand and dust, mostly up between Palm Springs and the Freeway. It is flat there with no buildings, and there is a lot of moving sand thru there. Kind of mini sand dunes that shift a lot and can bury the roads. A week ago there was a dust storm thru there and caused a bad accident from blinding conditions. tragically, 3 people were killed.

I think I just felt an earthquake. Don't see anything yet on line about it. But the whole bed shook and both cats were sleeping. Sophie woke up and looked around when it happened. Either an earthquake or a poltergeist!  I need to stop watching paranormal shows!

Sophie found a cricket in my room earlier tonight. I tried to catch it but it is now hiding behind the litterbox in the entryway. Maybe it will chirp tonight! I love the sound of crickets. And they are considered good luck in Asia. The people there used to make cricket cages out of gourds way back when, and keep them by their beds to listen to them at night. They were considered pets and had names. :D Here is a link to a very interesting article about it... https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/w ... ket-gourds

Just checked again. We had a 2.6 quake just a mile or so from here on the San Andreas fault line. Not a biggie but one of several we have had recently on that fault. At least I have earthquake insurance in case we get the "Big One" altho I probably wouldn't be around to collect!

Will get the laundry done tomorrow since I don't have any clean clothes for work. :o

Anita, can't wait to see photos of your trip!

Sheila, safe travels on your trip!
