Saturday, Sept. 9

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, Sept. 9

Good afternoon friends!

It was 68 degrees when I got up, right now it is 86 and we get into the low 90's. There is a chance of a shower this afternoon.

I think I mentioned that the refrigerator/freezer in our coach quit running but as of today, it is running and back in place and all the trim work reinstalled. We took a lot of the meats, etc. that we did not want to lose and put in our smaller fridges/freezers in our casita. We still had lots to dispose of, but it is what it is. I really hope we don't have to go through that again anytime soon. Fortunately, we didn't have to buy another refrigerator and the overall price between the Whirlpool guy and our mobile RV mechanic was under $ 1000.

Anita, have fun on your trip. Sheila, where will you be going? Cheryl, I love the area of the country you are in. Anne & Karen, are you still getting veggies from your garden? Shirl, have you started packing? There's so much going on with everyone, it's hard to keep up.

Good afternoon Irmi, I just finished an early lunch, been out harvesting again. HA HA going to pick green beans later. For my small garden it is producing very well. Had half an acorn squash out of my garden last night (Still have 4 more to eat.) Will have the other half tonight with my chicken that I threw in the crockpot Also made a pot of chicken tortellini soup. I did all this before 8am LOL LOL I was motivated.

Going to warm up today was a great morning tho 55/86 So glad I am finished outside for the day. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

PS
Irmi glad you got your fridge fixed in the RV I hate it when electrical or mechanical things just dont work and I have no idea why. I am not so inclined to learn either LOL

Good evening, listening to thunder in the distance and severe storm forecast. Spend the day with #1 daughter and had a big lunch so not hungry. Had peanut butter sandwich and a small glass of wine for dinner. Nuts and grapes are good for you right? Lol went to have a visual image of room size which looked small. #1 and sil adamant that I take two rooms. It will be more room so will do. Irmi I have started packing, gave a bedroom set to teen great grandson. Many years ago #1 daughter came to live with me with her two little daughters. We lived together for 7 years until she struck out on her own. She has been happily married again for many years. She apologized recently to her oldest for coming from a broken home. #1 gd said she wouldn’t trade living with two strong woman for anything. She remembers Powerade and d tacos cooked on a wood stove and eaten by candlelight. We did have fun. Travel forward to today. #2 gd is getting a house near her older sister and mother. I’m moving in with her mother so she texted me excited and said we will be together again. Life is good lol

Good afternoon gals!

Shirl, could you use one room for sleeping and the other room to put a small couch, TV, etc for your personal private space to hang out when not with the family?

I spent the past few days cleaning up my place so my agent could take more photos and video. He came by today at 2pm. He said the couple who was interested before, has contacted him again. I told him I will not go for paying for a washer/dryer or setting up the shed for that. We will see what happens... I just remembered I parked my car down the street (so it wouldn't be in the photos/video). I better go move it back here.

I went to the dentist this morning. They took x-rays of my tooth that is bothering me. They couldn't find anything wrong with it, but when I told him I have been grinding my teeth a lot, he said it is probably a traumatized nerve and I will need a root canal done and replace the crown that is on there now. Just the crown and the prep for the root canal would cost me $800 after insurance. They don't do root canals there so I would have an additional cost for that elsewhere and I am sure that won't be cheap either. I think, as long as I don't have an infection in there, that I can deal with this until I can get my dental work done in Mexico later. I just need to try to control my tooth grinding during the daytime and keep wearing the mouth guard at night.

It is hot today. 115*. Supposed to start cooling down again thru the week closer to 100*. I am really ready for fall which around here, doesn't come until the end of October.

Tomorrow, I will get caught up on laundry. One thing about having a clean house is that I can relax without feeling guilty! Need to get a couple things at WM too. My neighbor was making a BLT for lunch today and that sounds really good, so will pick up a tomato, lettuce and some bacon. Haven't made BLT's yet this summer.

Gonna just read and watch a little TV tonight. I got a book for people over 55 with ADHD. So far it is very interesting! It tells how aging issues combine with ADHD issues and how to deal with them effectively.

Have a good night!

Good Evening all, It has been an absolutely beautiful fall like day. It was 62 when I went to the farmers market at 8:00. The forecast has a 48 as a morning low :!: :!:

Irmi I'm so sorry about your refrigerator issues and that you also lost a lot of food.

Shirl how wonderful that you are so loved. Your #1 gd remark about how she felt about living with two strong women must have made your heart so happy.

Karen i looked up recipes for chicken tortellini soup and it sounds really good. I wish I had bought a butternut squash at the market this morning. I did get sweet potatoes, patti pan squash and mixed greens.

Barbie now I'm hungry for a BLT!

2 of my 5 days this week down. Tomorrow will be another day shift, but 5 hours instead of 6 then 2 5 hour closing shifts. Unfortunately I spend a few of the hours tomorrow working with the one person I'd rather not, but I'll survive. We got the next schedule and I'm back to 4 shifts, two openers, two closes. When I saw I want working with my least favorite on the others I should have not looked further. She never works closing shifts. Ha. She's on a closing shift with me. And that's a night I usually work with one of my favorite to work with. Oh well. Lol. This is so petty to complain about, but she just takes all the fun out of me. I'm going to see if I can change that. Life's too short to let someone do that to me. Not worth it at all.

Irmi, I'm glad you got the fridge fixed and sorry you lost some food. That's a worry of mine, especially when on the road and in Texas. At least when at my casita I have the fridge in there and I even shut off the RV fridge for the time I was there last. That's mainly to make sure I will have enough space for everything when I get back on the road lol

Shirl, I agree with Barbie. It's great that they are offering two rooms and I say use them. One can just be your bedroom. A small sitting room would be great. And I love what your granddaughter has said. You are blessed with a great family.

BJ, sounds like I'm having about the same weather as you. Nice to be out of the high heat, isn't it?

No flying today. It was supposed to be cool, calm, and sunny, except it turned out to have a lot of low clouds, so no good weather to go out in a plane. Will try again tomorrow.

#1 also suggested one room for a sitting room and the other for a bedroom. She and her husband have a large gourmet kitchen because they like to cook. There is a small section of counter next to the oven with cabinets above and bell that is already empty and it’s Shirl’ part of the kitchen. Lol life continually changes. As we age we continually lose what’s important and what’s important also changes. My family is upset for me because I have leaving the apartment. Making the decision is hard but then full speed ahead Big discussion with #2 gd and I said to stop driving was a SOB and she said we know but you have never been a wuss. How can you not try to live up to those words. You no longer feel like an aging old woman and realizing you haven’t really lost the important things in life. Wow! Sorry I have posted the thoughts churning in my head. Better get to bed. Be safe

it's more of the same ole same.... put another row on the scarf trying to put 2 on a day not sure that will happen today though... went to the store came away with the smallest amount that I have spent... just a few things to tide us over ...
told mom tonight that I was running away but I would return and that Monday ... was taking her to son's house while I was gone... I really thought I'd get flack but nothing not sure so makes me wonder if either she didn't understand or she didn't hear or???? guess we will see
Irmi I am heading East to Iowa sorta going up through the park then East have family in Spearfish SD going to stop in my "home town" get tag for the 5th wheel haven't been overly concerned about getting it except that I need to and sil mentioned he might move it to another spot which will require it being on the road for awhile... then I'm thinking of heading up into Minn, thought I would go see one of the great lakes didn't realize how far away they are so guess I will just decide what I want to do when I get to the state then to my family for awhile stop and see Beth then I have two nieces in Omaha that I want to see... (one is the niece I'm making the scarf for) I also want to stop in a county and do some family research a good size family and I've only found one or two that married wondering why in that time so thought I'd find the county then head into Colorado find a county there for FH then perhaps stopping and seeing nephew in Denver then go to Vernal cousins there and on to Ogden Ut to dd's youngest is going to be in SLC for a few days so want to get as many of the family together as we can...then back to mom's her birthday is the 10th she will be 97 so do want to be back and hopefully brother will bring her home while out will do some Costko run as well as Wallmart and Winco I like Zoom cereal it's the only place I can find it... I also need to pick up potato chips in Iowa for the kids why they like them I will never understand but they do... so will indulge them you understand these are all in jello had thought of going to see Pat not sure if I will how far is she from Omaha ??? I know she is right on the border but don't remember the town.... and right now I don't remember where the county in Nebraska is that I want to go to is... need to find it again... seems like it was south of 80 I'm hoping of going to Nauvoo while I am in Iowa (it's in Illinois) I saw a recipe for a soup that had the flavorings of lasagna and uses Dan-O's seasoning I googled it I can find it in Keokuk Iowa at wallmart that's not far from Nauvoo across the river and either South or North I might try and connect with Kathy Kral as well but don't remember what part of Ill she lives in if in the area I will be then I will try to get in touch with her..
Barbie what did your realtor saw when you said no to the washer/dryer ... with that rule of not being able to live in the homes full time has that slowed down other sales as well?
My son and his family are going on a cruise this coming week in Caribbean makes me wonder what the weather will be like for them with this hurricane floating around...
Glad that your refrigerator is fixed Irmi it's a pain in the behind when stuff like that happens I know had to have mine fixed or replaced can't remember which now
you all have a good day

Sheila, that is a lot of traveling you are planning on! Hope you get to see everyone you want to and all the places you want to go. Lake Superior in MN is a bit out of your way and you need to plan at least a few days there to really see what is up there, to make it worthwhile. It is beautiful tho! Another thing is it is fall and it will be almost impossible to find a place to stay since most places book out up to a year in advance. Check it out before deciding to head up there.

My agent did agree with me on not including a washer/dryer and the whole shed idea. And yes, there have been 2 or 3 who were interested, that wanted to live here full time.
